Okay so basically this is the beta timeline (beta timeline , where kurisu dies, ww3 starts and mayuri/shizuka have to disappear in 2011)
and after leaping back 3000 times to the past he figured out that he cannot stop them from disappearing because of the convergence (something that MUST happen in a timeline) , but figures out that if he wipes amadeus (kurisu AI) that the america will never know all the details (because they stole the AI, cause the professor working on the AI is a CIA agent) of the time machine and how to stop it
So basically he had to kill kurisu again to send them 1 year into the past (btw the time machine has the fuel only for 1 year of travel) and they arrive to the roof where okabe will appear in one minute after failing to save kurisu the last time with the time machine
the mayuri there tells the mayuri of the potential s;g timeline that she needs to support okabe and never have him be complacent with the timeline where only her or kurisu surrvives because it will lead him spiraling into depression
That sounds traumaitic
(even suicide in the other timeline)
but because okabe and shizuku are coming back with another time machine in 30 seconds they can't leave and disappear from the roof
so basically they have to pray that the time machine doesn't kill them
okabe gets his face slapped by mayuri on the roof and manages to stay on the quest to save both of them this time instead of accepting reality for the next 14 years where he has to die
but he realized during his timein the future that he doesn't haev to die but he can disappear
now during those 14 years he has been developing a time machine with daru and has been laying out a plan on how to influence the past to reach the stains;gate so after he goes with a time machine to locate where the fuck in space-time shizuku and mayuri went and bringing them back to 2025 they needed to wait another 11 years for the shizuku of this timeline to grow up and the fully working time machine to be develoiped by daru
