  1. General Rules
  2.
  3. Read the rules carefully - Staff will enforce them at all times. Excuses that you didn't know a rule existed will not work. In most cases a staff member will point out the rules you are breaking. If you do not stop, more drastic measures may be taken. If you feel a rule is ambiguous or unclear feel free to contact a Staff for an explanation.
  4. Respect Staff - They have enough experience, are knowledgeable and always have a reason for their actions. If you disagree with a staff member discuss it privately and courteously. Arguing with or being disrespectful towards staff will not be taken lightly.
  5. Cheating - Abusing, manipulating, or tricking the system in any way will result in a ban.
  6. Inactivity - You must login to the site at least once every three months, otherwise your account will be disabled for inactivity. Power Users+ and donators are immune from this requirement.
  7.

  10. Account Rules
  11.
  12. One account per person per lifetime - Do not create a new account under any circumstance. If your account has been disabled and you'd like it back visit #ptp-disabled on this site's IRC network. Giving away, trading or selling your account is strongly forbidden.
  13. Bonus points are for use within this site only - Giveaways, trading and selling of bonus points on other sites, as well as selling Bonus Points here is strictly forbidden.
  14. Do not trade, sell, or misuse invites - Invites are meant only for friends and for designated, user class-restricted, staff run or staff approved invite forums on other private trackers. Do not offer or share invites on public websites or any private sites that exist solely for the purpose of invite giveaways.
  15. Do not use Proxies when signing up - Using any sort proxy or TOR when registering to this site may be interpreted as a duplicate account by our system.
  16. Seedbox or Internet Sharing - If you are living or working with someone else who uses this site, it is in your best interest to notify Staff. If we aren't aware of the situation it looks like you are using duplicate accounts. The same goes for sharing a seedbox with someone or using a university internet connection. Please include the IP address of your seedbox or shared connection in the message.
  17. Allowed Clients - Make sure you use a torrent client that is on the Client Whitelist in the wiki.

  21. Ratio Rules
  22. Passthepopcorn is not a ratio free site. You are expected to keep a minimum ratio. What that ratio is will depend on how much you've downloaded:

  25.
  26. If your ratio goes below your required ratio you will be put on Ratio Watch. Once on ratio watch you will have two weeks to get above your required ratio, otherwise your ability to download new torrents will be disabled (but you will still be able to seed). This will also occur if you download more than 10GiB while on ratiowatch.
  27.
  28. If you find yourself on Ratio Watch don't despair, there are numerous ways to improve your ratio. Upload torrents of your own and see if anything you upload will fill a request. In addition, the staff picks on the home page are always freeleech and can help you keep your ratio afloat. For further information visit the "How Can I Get Off Ratio Watch?" thread in the Help forums.
  29.
  30. Hit and Runs
  31. You are also expected to seed everything you download for a reasonable amount of time. Once you have downloaded at least 95% of a torrent you must seed it for at least 48 hours within a 2 week period or until you have seeded out at least one full copy, otherwise you will get a Hit and Run ("HnR"). Of course, these are only minimum requirements and we strongly encourage you to seed for as long as possible. HnRs are by no means permanent. If you have an HnR, the quickest way to remove it is to simply resume seeding. For more information about HnRs please see the Hit and Run FAQ in the wiki.

  33. What to Do If You Need Help
  34. Most common questions have already been answered. Before asking for help please try searching through the Forums, Wiki, and Site Rules first. If you still cannot not find your answer, or need clarification, feel free to ask for help in the forums, on IRC, or to the staff directly via the staff inbox.
