  1. Building Gadgets Template Submission Requirements
  2.
  3. CONTEXT
  4.
  5. • Building Gadgets is a mod featured in the RAD mod pack; it has the capability to copy, paste, and build similar to WorldEdit, while still using blocks out of your inventory to maintain the balance with how powerful this can be.
  6.
  7. • The mod also features the ability to share creations through the use of the Template Manager. To share creations, all you need to do is copy your creation with a Copy/Paste Gadget, take it to a Template Manager, place it in the appropriate slot, and hit "Copy" below your gadget.
  8.
  9. • You will then need to create a .txt file using Notepad or something else, and Ctrl+V into the file. Lots of random text will appear. Do not edit this text unless you know what you're doing; like adding a title as a header on the .txt file for naming your creation. Alternatively, you can save the .txt file as the name of your creation with the raw paste inside. Save your file, and send it to the appropriate channel in the RAD Discord for review.

  12. NOTICE
  13.
  14. • All submissions to the RAD mod pack are accepted based on subjective criteria for purposes of quality control. Low quality submissions and submissions with missing requirements will not be accepted, based on a subjective review for purposes of quality control and standardization.
  15.
  16. • All submissions to the RAD mod pack, if accepted, are vulnerable to subjective placement and disposal within the mod pack regardless of requests by the original author for purposes of quality control and standardization.
  17.
  18. • All submissions to the RAD mod pack, if accepted, are final and vulnerable to gross modification and disposal regardless of requests by the original author. You cannot copyright a build in Minecraft. In order to preserve quality within the RAD mod pack, content submitted and accepted to the pack is final; the prevention of cut content is a large objective in this feature. Players are not permitted to become mad at a situation and request to pull their builds from the RAD pack, should they become large contributors. We are here to build a new feature. Not to become famous.
  19. ___
  20. Requirements
  21.
  22. The following are the requirements for physical block placements within your project, as well as details and info about your template. All Template submissions must have the following or are subject to immediate rejection.
  23.
  24. • A “tag” in your message, saying ”RAD TEMPLATE SUBMISSION”. This allows me to easily find posts within this channel by information attached to your post when searching for messages in the Discord.
  25.
  26. • A title.
  27.
  28. • The exact cubic dimensions for your project. (HxWxL). Placing blocks at each corner when measuring can help you with counting in-game.
  29.
  30. • The Copy/Paste Gadget Y-level required to place your project at the appropriate height. This prevents players from going through the hassle of orienting your project when pasting.
  31.
  32. • Colored Wool Blocks on each cardinal direction of your project in order to indicate the sides. The front side is required to be a different color than the rest of the other directions, for front side identification. Sticking to two colors is usually best unless you have instructions.
  33.
  34. • The theme or category your build belongs to. This is for organization purposes. Any features of your build should be listed here. This includes things like crafting rooms, forge areas, enchanting rooms, and other largely significant features of a build. If your project is based on a mod, mention that. If it has a story, this is where you would tell it. If it’s abstract, add a small description telling what your build is, so players know what they’re looking at.
  35.
  36. • Three screenshots of your project must be submitted with your template. This is to speed up review and to put a preview picture of your build into the Questbook. Think of it like product packaging.
  37.
  38. • Instructions for placement. Some projects may be intended to be placed over a Nomadic Tent, or within a Dim Door dimension. If your project has special instructions, include them.
  39.
  40. • Copying your build from Top to Bottom! This is a hard requirement! Players will need to make sure that one of the bottom most corners of their build is Right-Clicked, and NOT Shift-Right-Clicked. The Right-Click selection dictates where the build is pasted from, otherwise your build will be inside the ground! Only diverge from this copy method if you know what you’re doing, and have special pasting instructions!
  41. ___
  42. Rules & Restrictions
  43.
  44. • Automated machines which produce items are not permitted and will not be accepted; E.g Mob Farms. However, machines which organize storage, or storage meters or others which do not produce items, are acceptable.
  45.
  46. • Premade Redstone machines and circuits are accepted based on subjective review. The Redstone machine cannot imply or make available automation of a process. E.g An on/off machine for a mob farm. However, Redstone circuits for utilization within a piston door are permitted.
  47.
  48. • Please be careful about what blocks you use within your Template. Be sure to review your own project by pasting it in Creative Mode to see if any blocks with status changes behave appropriately. Things like Barrels, and many other blocks, cannot be pasted. Blocks like Trap Doors will be set to the default stage being “_” instead of “|”. This means, Trap Door bridges can work, but Trap Doors set to be closed on the side of a wood pillar will be pasted in the incorrect position. Keep this in mind, and constantly check your project, or test out blocks by copying and pasting them by themselves, before deciding to use it in a project.
  49.
  50. • Templates must be entirely original, or inspired by something relatable to the mod pack; RPG aspects are entirely acceptable, no matter where the inspiration is taken from. However, submissions with major inspiration from games like Star Wars, the space side of Warhammer, and other themes which stray from the fantastical theme of the RAD mod pack will not be accepted. Just make sure it looks like it belongs in a fantasy world. Not on another planet.
  51. ___
  52. Tips & Tricks
  53.
  54. • Pasting will never overwrite any blocks. This is helpful, for the most part. But it also means that in order for you to paste the entirety of a project, there must be empty space for ever block to be placed. If a project is 20x20x20, you must have a clear 20x20x20 area to paste it inside of, whether inside a cave, or outside in the open.
  55.
  56. • Pressing the Anchor Hotkey will maintain a render of what you are pasting, where you pressed the Hotkey. This helpful when you are pasting a large project, and need to refill your inventory with the required materials. Remember, pasting never overwrites, so you will still have the material in your inventory if a block is interrupting where you are trying to paste. It is also recommended that you place a wool marker to stand in front of, when pasting large projects that require you to leave your position and refill your inventory with the needed resources.
  57.
  58. • If you want to make DIM Door Templates, the inside of DIM Door dimensions are 21x21x21.
  59.
  60. • Creating systems, or making sure tile entities get placed in specific areas of your build is very do-able! Use different colored Wool Blocks, and create a legend for what blocks are supposed to be replaced there for each color of Wool.
