- You should use two buckets 1 is your clean bucket the other is your dirty bucket.
- Bucket 1: water and soap - that’s your clean bucket
- Bucket 2: just water - this is your dirty aka rinse bucket
- Step 1: Spray the car down with water make sure you get all the crevices and such
- Step 2: Lather up the car up with the shampoo, this is where two buckets come in. You rinse the sponge in the clean bucket between latherings reason for it is that you want to get all the grime the sponge collects off of it so that you don’t scratch up the paint with it. This applies to the metal parts and the windows.
- Step 3: Spray the rims with wheel cleaner, it’s sort of like a gel so it will stay on the wheels.
- Step 4/5: Wash the wheels with a wheel brush getting into the spokes and all. Rinse the car and the wheels, it doesn’t matter what order you do this in really. Make sure you get in all of the crevices and specifically the panel gaps, water and soap gets in there and blows out when driving making for unhappy dirty car.
- Step 6: If you have a leaf blower blow the water off the car as much as you can, get into the panel gaps same as previous step.
- Step 7: Dry the car, some people suggest different towels for wheels and the rest of the car. I never really did it, if you did it right the towel will still be clean.
- Step 8: Quick detail the car, best is to go panel by panel, you can split bigger panels (roof, hood, etc…) into halves. Basically you spray QD on and then dry with a towel immediately.
- Step 9: Do outside of the windows, you just spray the cleaner and wipe off with a towel, if it’s a small window or it’s windy you can “cover” spraying area with a towel so that it doesn’t spray too far. You can also spray the towel itself and spread the cleaner on the glass then use the dry side for drying the window. If you want you can do inside of the windows at this time or do it when you do interior, I tend to do the latter.
- Step 10: Wax time, don’t use circular motion either go vertical or horizontal on the panel. Try the best you can to keep it off the plastic/glass/rubber will look like shit if you do. For this you basically put the wax on give it about a minute or two and just wipe it off with a microfiber towel. Directions are usually on the box as well. Way I used to do this is I would wax one panel then wax another panel. Once I was done with the second panel I would wipe the wax off of the original then the second.
- Step 11: Dress the tires, basically like armor all stuff doesn’t matter how you do it, just don’t get it on the metal.
- Interior cleaning is relatively easy, just use the correct products on the parts, leather cleaner for leather, plastic cleaner for plastics, carpet cleaner for carpets, etc…. The way I used to do it is I would spray the actual towel with the cleaner and wipe it across w/e you cleaning.
- Products to use (feel free to mix and match and do your own research this is just stuff I was told by my detailer was good way back in the day)
- Adam's Car Wash 1 gallon - you add this to the bucket, I suggest getting this Adam's Gallon Pump Dispenser to add to it, makes it easier to pump it into the bucket.
- P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel Formula 500 ml - this is what you spray on the wheels, you could get a gallon jug of it and some empty spray bottles. I can’t remember what wheel brush I was using here is all they got http://www.detailersdomain.com/Brushes_c_85.html.
- Optimum Opti Bond Tire Gel Rubber Tire Dressing - this is to give it that nice wet look on the tires.
- Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer - use in a spray bottle (linked below)
- Adam's Glass Cleaner 1 gallon - you can get a small spray bottle if you want I figure gallon would last for a while (I still have half of mine lol)
- Lusso Oro Premium Carnauba Wax - this is what I used to use, you can see if you like it or get something else
- 10 pack of Uber Yellow Wax Applicator Pads - this is to apply the wax
- 10 Pack Uber Ultra Microfiber Towel 16x16 - this is to remove the wax off of the car and for interior
- Adam's Great White Microfiber Drying Towel - you only need a couple of these, you can wash them between uses but if you are doing it right they should be clean after drying anyways. This is also what you will be using for the quick detail.
- Uber Hi Tech Glass Microfiber Towel - get a couple of these I have like 3 or 4.
- Kwazar Mercury Pro + 0.5 Liter Trigger Spray Bottle - you would need one for the glass and the tire gel and the instant detail you can buy piecemeal or get a set of 4 Kwazar Mercury Pro 0.5 Liter Buy 3 get 1 Free
- Uber Yellow Wash Sponge - 6 Pack - Just your regular basic sponge, they wear out rather quickly though.
- Interior:
- 1Z einszett Cockpit Premium - this is what I used to use on the Audi.
