Embargo argument that i forgot to post (July 11th 2018):

1. 15 day rule applied to link-n-news-dump as well as spoilers, and it was certainly official. I realize now that I should have capped the 15 day embargo poll. Even though we have the 15 day embargo draft in this channel, we don't have the poll results. But hopefully I'm not the only one that remembers it was an almost unanimous vote for 15 days or more. (like 85% 15 days, 10% more time, 5% less time)
2. The whole point of the spoilers channel and embargo IMO was to give the fookis who had paid for these big content releases a chance to actually receive their package before it was spread all over the server. The embargo even applied to emotes, altho 15 days for emote adding seems trivial now topkek. When we made this decision last year (less than a month into 2.0 existance) it definitely had nothing to do with preserving fooki drive links, as that wasn't really a problem we had run into yet.
3. There are lots of things that get posted on 4chan and other communities that either don't get posted here, or are against the rules here. Lowering/raising the bar of "rule strictness" due to what humans have the potential to accomplish if left to their own in devices is a slippery slope.
4 - We should give the spoilers channel the same jurisdiction as link-n-news-dump. We should also have a statement somewhere that describes why we have this jurisdiction, and postulate what the members have to do in order to be a part of it. Ofc we would add any new info in this this regard to the spoilers anny and the rules anny.
5 - If you guys agree to re-subscribe to the 15 days embargo, I will update the rules anny. I'll add a summary of the 15 day announcement to the pastebin which I will submit here first for revision, and I will add "5 - 15 day embargo for new content releases. Does not apply to content streamed by an official source."
