[ + ] Jessica was born on September 13, 1999, in the city of Winnipeg in Canada. She was the middle child out of three kids. She was, to be honest, a fairly normal kid. She was super close to her siblings, and to her dad, but for some reason, she wasn't that close to her mom. Sometimes it seemed like her mom was doing something fishy. She lived a relatively quiet life in Canada for the first 14 years of her life. But that all changed when her dad was laid off from his job. He sought out new job opportunities, and after a month without a job, he got a call from his parents in South Korea. They said that a company in Korea was interested in hiring him. So when Jessica started high school, she moved with her parents and younger brother (her older sister was in university at the time) to Korea. Unfortunately, once they got to Korea, her relationship with her mom was strained even further, and her relationship with her dad started to deteriorate. She only really had her brother (and an occasional phone call with her sister). Once her older sister got married back in Canada, Jessica was really almost alone. Her dad was working all the time, and had no time for her or her brother. Jessica had to find ways to entertain herself. One day, when her mom was out, she looked through the attic (her mom was always in the attic). She found a book of witchcraft in there. She had a small inkling it could be her mom's, but didn't look into it further. When looking through it, she found a spell on how to make a love potion. This was exactly what she needed, as she had a crush on a boy, and wanted to get him to ask her out to prom. Underneath her excitement, though, she felt a little bit of worry. She wondered… was her mom really a witch?

Maria is really secretive around her, and unbeknownst to Jessica, it's because she practices witchcraft. Sometimes Jessica feels like her mom neglects her. She wants to figure out what her mom is always doing in the attic.
[ + ] Hillary McGinness (née Park, older sister, 23 years old). Jessica really looks up to her big sister. She knows she can always count on her for advice. They haven't been able to talk as much since Hillary got married, but their relationship is still very stable (unlike her relationships with her parents).
[ + ] Asher Park (younger brother, 14 years old). Jessica loves her little brother to death. She'd do anything to keep him safe. He's honestly the one who really keeps her going, and she's always been there for him. Asher thinks Jessica is the best big sister he could ever ask for.
[ + ] Ryan McGinness (brother-in-law, 23 years old). He and Jessica aren't CRAZY close, but he's always supportive of her. Sometimes, Jessica talks with him for advice when she can't talk to her dad or sister, since they understand each other well.

[ + ] Jessica is a really normal kid. She is a good girl who works hard in school, respects her family, and loves just living life. She's not really known in the school for anything (other than maybe being a pretty good student), and most of the other students probably wouldn't know who you were talking about if you mentioned her name. She blends in the background, and you'd never expect her to even think of making a love potion for her crush. She doesn't even fall in love that easily. However, when she does fall in love, she falls pretty hard. While she isn't quite as "clever" as the nerd, she is a smart cookie. She's also really good at convincing people to agree with her ideas. Not to mention, underneath her normal exterior, she is extremely determined, and will do almost anything to get what she wants. Sometimes she's a little too determined, and tries too hard to achieve her goals even if it's pretty much impossible. She's also the easily wary type, especially when it comes to parents and nosy classmates. Sometimes she snaps back at them too quickly if they ask what she's doing. In a way, she can also be a little judgmental at times, and easily jumps to conclusions about things. Since she's perhaps the least recognizable among the group, she has a strong thirst to prove herself, to show that's she's just as cool as the other girls. This can make her a little competitive, and sometimes this competitiveness can make her seem rude and ruthless. Although she maybe doesn't have as much influence as some of the other girls, she has a real way with her words.

Despite his successes, Mark is a very humble person who nevet gets too full of himself. However, Mark is very stubborn, and sometimes works too hard (to the point of overworking and tiring himself). He wants to make everyone happy (even if it doesn't really benefit him). He usually hangs with the guys, but he gets along very well with most of the girls too, including Jessica. However, he is often oblivious to the romantic inclinations of others, so he doesn't really notice.

[ + ] When Mark first met Jessica, he thought she was a really nice and friendly girl. He thought that she seemed like a good friend, and that she was very easy to trust. Mark thought that she would be a good partner for a project or something like that, and thought that he might want to get to know her a little better. He quickly changed his mind about that, though, because they weren't in the same class. They wouldn't be spending much time together, so why should he get so attached when there were other people he'd be seeing more than her? He decided he should get to know them first.

She thought he was really cool. She tried not to think too much about him, but soon she began trying to find him every day at school. [ + ] before: she acts almost shy around him. she talks in a rather quiet voice, and tries not to give away her feelings for him. she feels as if she can't be herself around him.
[ + ] after: she starts acting more confident around him, and is more willing to be herself around him. she doesn't feel like she has to hide anything from him anymore. to put it simply, she acts natural around him.

how does the love interest act around your character? ::
[ + ] before: he likes her but doesn't really notice her, as she is in another class. he's really friendly to her, but he doesn't really see her as anything more. he thinks she's cool and nice, but that's basically it.
[ + ] after: he falls head over heels for her. all of a sudden he ends up blushing and smiling whenever he sees her, and he would do anything to talk with her for just one moment. she basically rocks his world. however, he tries to still maintain his composure around her. he usually fails at this.
