- Hello,
- I have a problem with the accuracy of Scilab. Please see my script to understand my problem.
- The first concern I don't understand, is the value of the concentration on oxygen in the 0th step. This is the symbol 'cO2'. It should be given by 'cO0', so it has to be 'cO2=0.06'. But having a look in the target file, you see in the 6th (starting by 0) column the value '0.05999999999999999777955395075'. Due to the very small results, this inaccuracy is a problem.
- Another one is the balance. I calculate 'z2' to get a feel wether my modell is okay. 'z2'(column 12) is just the sum of the concentrations 'cB'(5), 'cO'(6), 'cS'(7) and 'cG'(8). In the 0th step is 'cS = cG = 0'. So 'z2 = cB + cO'. Another look in the target file gives:
- 560.00000000000000000000000000000 + 0.05999999999999999777955395075 = 560.05999999999994543031789362431
- In another example I get:
- 59.00000000000000000000000000000 + 0.05999999999999999777955395075 = 59.06000000000000227373675443232
- My notebook is a 'Samsung NP-R510H' and I am using Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit. I got scilab version: 5.2.1-8
- I need this for a student research paper. I would be really thankfull if anyone could help me: What is causing my problem and how can I solve this?
