  1. [00:07] Katzan Xizoh says, "Let me ask one thing, then."
  2. [00:07] Katzan Xizoh asks, "What's your name, funny clothes?"
  3. [00:08] Dan Karadin says, "Dan Karadin."
  4. [00:09] Katzan Xizoh says, "Dan Karadin."
  5. [00:09] Katzan Xizoh asks, "Would you forfeit that lame name and join Atl?"
  6. [00:09] Dan Karadin says, "I would."
  7. [00:10] Katzan Xizoh asks, "Would you fight in my name, Dan?"
  8. [00:11] Dan Karadin says, "I would, Chieftain."
  9. [00:11] Katzan Xizoh says, "Very well."
  10. [00:12] Katzan Xizoh says, "Make an oath."
  11. [00:13] Kaltiv yawns slightly, being dismissive of the man's pledge of allegiance.
  12. (Kaltiv Tepetla)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [00:13] The Chieftain unslings one sacrificial dagger from a pocket in his legwear, and then... He slices upon his own palm, making a deep cut. Before the wound heals, it bleeds enough to cover it.
  16.
  17. A blood oath, apparently. And... Legend always says what becomes of those who break their oaths. Holding the blade, Katzan offers the dagger's handle to Dan Karadin.
  18.
  19. "Go."
  20. (Katzan Xizoh)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [00:22] His mind was a mess both due to the blood loss and the loss of his home, he'd still be filled with hatred yet. This would be somewhere where he could focus that hatred, and hopefully find the people who would ruin what he had.
  24.
  25. He'd reach for the dagger's handle, grasping the dagger in his hand tightly before realizing...he only has the one arm. He'd have to sorta of maneuver it oddly before the bladed section was in his palm and tightly gripping the blade.
  26.
  27. Burying the blade deep into his palm and bottoms of his fingers, there would be a slight wince but it wouldn't be the only time that he'd cut his hand open.
  28.
  29. Usually on Accident however.
  30.
  31. "Chieftain, I swear that I will follow your words and fight for you even until after my time on this plane is over, I swear that I'll never betray the tribe or break this oath."
  32.
  33. He wasn't much of a speaker but hefigured he'd have to get his point across somehow.
  34. (Dan Karadin)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [00:40] Katzan looks as the man takes the dagger by the blade, slightly widening his eyes. Of course, it was more than expected... But he was seeking something a bit more creative. It was just means of staining the floor with both of their bloods, after all.
  38.
  39. His void of expression is noticeable, but perhaps... The hints of satisfaction upon seeing the man willing to bleed himself simply by being in his presence seep through that cold face, before a nod is conducted towards the man.
  40.
  41. Greyish flames erupt from within the temple's stones, grasping at his only arm. They steal the heat of his insides, leaving no burns but only small wounds, as if they simply devoured the skin. And like that, as yellow irises look towards the dagger...
  42.
  43. They jump around it, engulfing the dagger's blade, and quickly making it simply disappear in thin air, devoured by the flames. But most importantly, even if all the previous sensations were painless, this one isn't. The flames get inside his wounds, leaving a black-and-white cauterized mark wherever the sacrificial blade had cut.
  44.
  45. "You know what happens to oathbreakers, don't you?" He says, before a small smile appears upon his face. "I usually kill those who break their oaths to me. This marks your oath, Dan. You'll now... Find another name."
  46.
  47. And like that, the chieftain turned back, walking towards the throne and sitting on it, elbow on the armrest while his hand was supporting his head on top of a closed fist.
  48.
  49. "You may keep Dan, for it is the name of a previous warrior. But Karadin..." He squinted. "Not even my wife can walk around with her valmasian surname."
  50. (Katzan Xizoh)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [00:53] His eyes would be widening as he'd watch the greyish flames erupt from the floor before searing his hand and burning the dagger away, he would assume because of it's color that it'd be painless.
  54.
  55. Until the fire would leak into his cut, it'd like a pain he never felt before. His teeth would grit heavily as the wound would be quickly yet painfully cauterized, this would not be a decision that he could turn back on and that wound would serve as a reminder for the future.
  56.
  57. A reminder that his choice was made and his fate was forever sealed.
  58.
  59. His eyes would return to Katzan as he'd wrack his head with names, He would go through names rather quick.
  60.
  61. "Dan Tezcacoatl...that is the name that I've decided on."
  62. (Dan Karadin)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [01:11] Kaltiv would look down on the gunslinger. On his resolve. On his oath. Quite literally. As he'd likely still be on his knees. A part of the young Sarradian's brain would be weighing in how loyal he'd be to Atl. The scene before them would be satisfying to watch, surely. But, was he to be trusted so quickly…?
  66.
  67. Eventually, he remembered: This was a man who's lost what's most dear to him. This thought came accompanied with a light smirk, which took over his androgynous features.
  68.
  69. "Dan Tezcacoatl." He said. "I'll remember that name."
  70.
  71. His often uncaring, abrasive demeanor seemed to have become more appeased. He'd let out a warm smile, with both arms hidden completely behind his poncho.
  72.
  73. His inner self would laugh unrestrainedly.
  74.
  75. This was his plan all along.
  76.
  77. The reason why he didn't sever his deft hand…
  78.
  79. Was so he could be of use to him.
  80. (Kaltiv Tepetla)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [01:21] Katzan nodded at the man, the flames slowly dying out around his arm. Dan Tezcacoatl, now part of Atl... He was still too low to be considered one of them. Too unproven. Too weak, perhaps. But still, he wanted to be part of them.
  84.
  85. "Let me tell you how the way of blood works then, Dan. You'll respect those above you, and you will serve them. In exchange, we will protect you." Tilting his head slightly to the side, the Xizoh's yellow irises kept analyzing the valmasian to its full extent.
  86.
  87. "And in this tribe, there is no one above me. From now on, you are an occuali of Atl. And more importantly..." He squinted slightly, before raising a pristine, unscathed hand to gesture towards Kaltiv.
  88.
  89. "Kaltiv, you're to take care of him, as you were the one to defeat him. From now on, you're a warrior of Atl..." And then, lowering his hand as to make it hide under the coat once again, resting against the throne.
  90.
  91. "And if I hear of any further damage of my property, you'll be the one to suffer."
  92.
  93. His voice rose slightly, yellow irises locking onto the sarradian's eyes, an intimidating sensation seeping away from the Xizoh, the pure hatred and the very sense of weakness that he emitted, enough to make most men shiver. If he wasn't an extremely powerful magi... He sure felt like one.
  94.
  95. "Am I clear?"
  96. (Katzan Xizoh)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [01:25] Dan would nod after hearing his decision, figuring that he had nothing else to say
  100. (Dan Tezcacoatl)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [01:30] The Sarradian would sigh, this time at least attempting to hold eye contact with Katzan, to mild success. His gaze would narrow down, like it'd be a real struggle to maintain it. He'd finally disrupt the exchange with a bow.
  104.
  105. "Thank you, Chieftain."
  106.
  107. His then pumped ego would be conflicted: Part of it rejoiced on his promotion to Warrior of Atl. The other? Hated itself for squirming under the Strigoi's authority and presence.
  108.
  109. Kaltiv would straighten up again, nearly grimacing, but ultimately showing something akin to submission.
  110.
  111. "Understood, Chieftain."
  112. (Kaltiv Tepetla)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [01:37] A smirk came to his face when he noticed how overwhelming his very presence was against Kaltiv. It was a sensation which he never felt himself fulfilled about, which he always sought, and right now... He saw it in the two tribesmen in front of him.
  116.
  117. Voice taking yet again a calm, eerie and empty tone, he started speaking again. "Very well. We are done here then." He waved a dismissive hand, before looking onto Dan's missing atl. "And you, Tezcacoatl. You'll need to get that arm back. However you want to, just get some ores and enough money. I'll solve that if needs be."
  118.
  119. And then, his voice rose again, back to the same question as before, even if this time around it kept the same tone. "Understood?"
  120. (Katzan Xizoh)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [01:41] Dan's eyes would immediately go to his stump of an arm, the pain would remain due to the fact it got ripped off by a highly pressurized beam of water. He figured that he can eventually con someone out of a Kit or just go down to crafthold and buy one.
  124.
  125. He was also somehow carrying 460's units of wood with him in his poncho like some odd universal satchel.
  126.
  127. "I believe I can purchase one when I have the chance, I understand chieftain."
  128.
  129. Figuring that he'd be able to cut down trees or mine some ores if need be.
  130. (Dan Tezcacoatl)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [01:42] Kaltiv looks away, briefly taking Dan's severed arm out of his poncho and using it to scratch his cheek.
  134. (Kaltiv Tepetla)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [01:46] Joanne glanced between the one tribesman she knew some and one possible tribesman she did not know. Wait, he was Valmasian. That was interesting to say the least, there weren't many Valmasians around the village besides herself. She did, however, remain quiet as she stood nearby, allowing the blue-haired man sitting at the throne to deal with his business.
  138. (Joanne Xizoh)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140.
  141. [01:47] Katzan Xizoh says, "Very well then."
  142. [01:47] Kaltiv glanced at Joanne slightly with pained eyes before staring back into the ground. "I might be able to help with his prosthetic arm, sir."
  143. (Kaltiv Tepetla)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [01:48] Katzan rose his right hand slowly, before it pointed towards Joanne, and he gestured for her to come closer. Yellow irises stared towards her, the same neutral look on his face, as the black-and-white effect around him slowly started dissipating.
  147.
  148. A quick glance was directed towards Kaltiv, and a nod. "Do help. He's your responsibility."
  149. (Katzan Xizoh)
  150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
