Huckleberry Finn Chapter 16 and 17 Writing Assignment

Scholars believe Mark Twain stopped writing the novel “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” for a few years after he finished Chapter 16.  Why would this have been a difficult place for Twain to continue?  How does the setting of the novel change at this point?  Explain your answer using citations from the text.
