  1. Cholera, an infection originating in the small intestine, is caused by the bacteria vibrio cholerae. Vibrio cholerae is commonly found in planktons. Main symptoms of Cholera are early signs of vomiting and diarrhea. Furthermore, early signs of dehydration can also hint at the infection. The bacteria, after reaching the small intestines form contaminated food, creates toxins made of 6 protein subunits. The toxin can signal cells like G-Proteins as it enters the cells by endocytosis. Inside the cells, the toxin binds with proteins and exposes the activation sites of each cell to the toxins thus infecting the host.
