- Are you comfortable enough in your roleplaying/writing ability to engage in a Heavy Roleplay-style game?:

- Are you comfortable with the fact that this game does not use a game-like combat system (rolls, numbers, stats) and will, instead, utilize an intricate logic-based and entirely custom-made magic system for combat?:

- Are you comfortable with  darker and grittier emotional tones in the narrative? (the server has a strong emphasis on emotional struggles, fighting for survival and overcoming of one's internal and external limitations):


- Are you willing to have a reasonable level of commitment to the game? I do not ask for much, but this is a play-by-post game, anyone who's neglecting the game will end up killing the pacing for everyone. You do not need to be posting all day, every day, but posting once a week isn't an option either. Posting is a process that will only take a small portion of your time, generally around 15-20 minutes, and once a day would be plenty. Every day or two is fine, if you need more time occasionally it's also fine:


****BACKGROUND****

Your character may be from a varied age range, but you all hail from the same place, and have a more or less similar life. You live in this alternate world's version of Japan. It is not quite the Japan you're used to, because it received an absolutely immense amount of immigration directly after WW2, becoming a huge hub of western culture, mixed deeply with traditional Japanese culture. You may hail from a family that comes from pretty much anywhere in the world, or a direct foreigner that recently arrived.

You live in Makimura city, an academic complex. It is known for excellence in teaching, from the earliest ages to doctoral levels, and leading academic services. Many foreigners still come to the city to study, and there's a really high amount of young people because of that. Many of the city's simpler job positions are filled by students, almost all of the part-time jobs are manned by an ever-increasing number of youth.

Immediately after the immigration began in the 1940s, the country was plagued with quite a lot of terrible incidents, that later were identified as terrorist attacks. The running theory is that every extremist eastern faction turned their eyes to Japan for their intake of foreigners. However, this is not the case, as you will later find out in the story, and it is mainly a cover-up by the Japanese government who have no idea what is happening.

Your character will most likely be part of the Makimura complex, a series of schools, divided by gender, and big universities that occupy a huge section of the city. There are a lot of student housing complexes too, that were built inside the enormous campus. You can choose to be in highschool, or university, or even be a dropout if you want, there's no real limitations here.

The main example of such an attack was approximately three years ago. At first, it seemed like an earthquake, as rumbles could be felt occasionally, but it was later determined to be some kind of assault on the city. It destroyed the train station quite extensively, as well as an unrelated point in the western part of the city. Dozens of culprits were caught, but many say that they were at the scene and they saw no one getting arrested.

You'll generally have a fairly mundane start, but if you want to do something fancier or spicier, I'm willing to hear out your ideas and see if I can fit them in. More plot hooks are always good.
