[11:10] With the equipment in hand, the scientist then moved to the vault entrance area - a place that would soon be connected to the excavation site, as well as being the route they would use for the tunnel that would connect them to the volcano.

A long term project.

In the area there were already numerous drones digging, but as explained by 0C there were problems - "More details on the situation." The scientist asked before continuing - "Also, I think we're going to pass a little below sea level - do we have the necessary reinforced glass for that in stock?

If so, we can make a proper tunnel with a view to the sea." A comment was made, another part of the grand and elaborate plan they had.

[11:19] The construct, after giving only a brief overview of the situation, raises its hand and begins spinning up its elemental core.

"Understood."

A gilded hologram appears over its palm, displaying the current progress of the excavated tunnel thus far. Although they haven't quite reached the shore-line, progress was being steadily made on both ends of the tunnel. Well, it WAS, at least, until the nest was encountered. The hologram shifts to display several scenes, all involving engagements of the armored security drones with the rather expansive hive under the sands.

Texts accompany the images, supplying dates, battle losses, and other, miscellaneous information related to the current situation. All in all, in appears to be a stalemate. But, despite the lack of progress, the construct does not pay it much mind, moving on to the topic of the approaching sea-line.

"Although we have some in stock and the drones have been set to manufacture more, we do not currently have enough to fully cover a straight line through the sea. It would suggest diverting the tunnel along the coast and only allowing select sections to dip back into the sea.

Or, we may pursue other routes. When unit 'Omega' was active, they suggested developing a solid force-field to defend the settlement. We have yet to pursue this line of research, but it may prove valuable in the construction of the tunnel.

We may also consider utilizing the Orgonite Materializer, reinforcing the glass we have available to us with a crystal lattice and allowing us to use thinner panes, stretching out our available resources."

The diagram continues to shift, showcasing the proposed routes of the tunnel as the construct speaks. They had quite a few routes ahead of them, the Director only needed to make a decision and it would see it put into action.

[11:26] The holograms were analyzed, manifestations of mana that showed what was found - bastard creatures, hindering the progress of the Proto Institute! This will not be allowed in any way, no!

"Send our most reinforced drones and deploy some more advanced animunculis to this task - limit the movement of these creatures and use fire to burn the nests.

Send as well a scout squad, to search for the matriarch of the hive - in order for us to put an end to this infestation." The scientist was already considering a plan to put into practice, which would certainly greatly reduce the contingent of enemies!

This makes it possible for the project to continue.

"A field would be more than useful against the many creatures from other planes that may threaten the continuity of our settlements - try to use your knowledge and wayfinding for this.

Bring in some bright minds and divert some of the resources to this work." Permission was given to use Proto Institute funds, as it was an important project - "And do so, create polycrystal glass for greater effectiveness and resistance to high pressures .

Let's make the best of it, as this project will boost our economy due to the new safe trade route." Concluding then, he nodded to 0C before falling back into silence.

[11:33] The orders were given to the construct, it simply needed to pass them along. As a nearby drone hovers out of an exposed vent, the golem turns towards it and barks out a burst of harsh static, binary data spoken at a rapid, incomprehensible pace until it was only just painful noise to the organic senses.

The drone immediately sets out, flying towards the next in sequence and offering it a series of clicks, whirs, beeps, and noises to carry the order along. Eventually, it would arrive to the security and manufacturing drones. Reinforcements would be made to their shells, additional armaments provided crafted out of the resources available to the Proto Institute, and sent to the front lines against the insectoid menace underfoot.

"Task complete. The lines will be reinforced; we may attempt to temporarily re-activate a lesser sentience in the available models of Animunculi to assist in the ongoing conflict."

They still had quite a few inert models of Animunculi within the Vault, their sentience decayed until they were simple shells. Powerful, but quite empty. They could be used still for this task, temporarily directed by a less advanced sentience to offer their aid in the battles below.

At least they could still assist this way.

The diagram shifts in the golem's palm, displaying a list of faces and names as it considers who to contact for the development of the force-field. But, it soon vanishes, absorbed back into its palm as it continues to speak.

"Understood. It will contact select organics regarding the project and personally see to the development of the Orgonite glass. Do you have any further tasks to assign this unit?"

[11:38] One of the things that Acantho was more than sure of was that he could always count on 0C, he had been by his side for years and would probably remain there forever - so there was no one more reliable than him for such tasks.

Actually.. if possible gather information on the situation of the demon hordes - these are being sighted more frequently across Meranthe. Doing many things, hunting others mainly.

I want to make sure they don't move into the dunes or try to attack us." The being made that clear, before then turning to the entrance - "I'll be in the Vault if you need me." He then concluded before leaving.
