it unlocks many cool features!
- Then the door opened, and my thinking ceased.
- It came forth with neither pretense or caution, a massive gray millipede with razor jaws and bulbous protrusions all along its armored length. Its many eyes glowed with a crimson hue, and a strange, loathsome intelligence was set in its leering features. The monstrous insect stood eight feet tall and almost eighty feet long, and the clacking of its segmented parts rang above the din of the other battles beginning as the sinuous beast advanced. All of its eyes focused on me, and it attacked almost too quickly to see.
- I was already in midair by the time its mandibles closed where I had been a brief moment before, and Mithrimmar thrust into one of its eyes as I flipped onto its head. A strange white ooze spilled out of the ruptured orb as the millipede went berserk and scuttled along the wall, rapidly slamming its head against the glass and stone to try to crush me. I pulled Mithrimmar out and stabbed another eye out as it reared up, hissing, and dislodged me. I hung in front of its terrible mouth as it strained forward, chewing, chewing empty air with gusto as if imagining the taste if it could bite me. I for my own part was trying to achieve enough inertia and momentum to use my katana as a lever and propel myself away from the Millipede and agonizing death by being devoured. I proved the successful one, and I landed in a crouch a little past its head with Mithrimmar firmly in my grip.
- The eye exploded in gore behind me as the insect squealed in pain and chittered mindlessly, then began to turn once more to try to kill me. It drove me backwards- I thrust at its mouth, but the clever monster realized my ploy and closed its mandibles before I could stab at its brain or throat. I barely got Mithrimmar out in time, and my assault commenced. I rained blows upon its 'face' and jaws, but it was a futile gesture- they were as hard as steel, and Mithrimmar rang off harmlessly each time. My arms would give out from either the shock of recoil or sheer weariness before I could pierce a hide like that.
- A lucky slash claimed two more eyes and then it was upon me. The pain ridden Millipede glared down at me, both size and intelligence vastly enhanced by TWIBBI, and I glared back from the wall it had backed me into. Then I hurled the Yarn Ball into its mandibles and it bit down instinctively, only to get its jaws caught upon it. A look of confusion filled its eyes as it first tried to chew, then to spit out, the Yarn Ball, but the device was coated in the monster's own sticky blood and remained firmly between its mandibles. It screeched as best it could and began trying to skitter away, but time was now on my side- the wounds I had inflicted were still bleeding out at a steady rate.
- Finally it collapsed with what sounded suspiciously like a whimper, and I put out its remaining eyes to insure it was dead. It was. But the growths on its sides and belly were moving, jiggling, cracking... a host of fourteen more of the TWIBBI induced horrors spilled out in a clacking, clicking, ripping stream of gore, in many varying and unnatural sizes. None of them as large as their progenitor, luckily, and even more lucky was the fact that they were apparently cannibals by nature. Deigning me more a pittance morsel than even a snack, the overgrown insects began to fight amongst themselves instead of pursuing in their hunger and devoured each other while I watched.
- The reprieve to catch my breath was welcome.
- A bloody struggle of ripping legs and jaws later, three gorged and sated millipedes remained, and I dispatched them far more easily than their 'mother' as the bloated monsters were far too engorged to put up any real sort of resistance. They were also smaller, and, new-hatched, did not bear such a menacingly augmented shell.
