Naruhiko stands approximately five feet, nine inches tall and weighs only 140 lbs. Due to his height and weight, he’s a bit lankier than the average teenager which he often tries to hide underneath his normal attire. His hair is long, and aquamarine in color with long bangs that droop over his right eye which he is constantly brushing aside while his eyes are a light brown in color. If one looked at his eyes from an angle, you would think they were a dark orange rather than a light brown.

The choice of clothes that Naruhiko wears are typically those that take up as much space on his body at a time. The pants he wears are typically made of a thick material with lots of pockets, or nearly no extra features other than the normal two pockets. His shirt always has long sleeves that extend past his hand, and whenever outside he wears a white duffle coat over his shirt.

Those who have never met him outside of school would think the UA uniform suits him well. In reality, the only part of the uniform he really likes is the blazer which he tries his hardest to never take off. When not using his hands, you could easily expect them to be hidden away in the pockets on his blazer much like where they would be in his normal duffle coat. The gym uniform doesn’t fit him well however, as it lacks pockets for him to keep his hands in and is made of very light materials. It’s rare to see him smile when wearing the gym uniform.

Naruhiko's hero outfit wears a black version of his typical duffle coat, except that there are hidden pockets in his collar that hold smoke balls and he wears gloves made of a unique material that make sparks when rapidly rubbing against the other glove. These are used to ignite the fuse on the smoke ball to create long lasting smoke. Secondly, on his belt are several canisters that when the top pin is pulled, will billow out a thick black smoke, but when the bottom pin is pulled will shatter one of the edges completely, creating a large mass of smoke at a rapid rate. The mask is an opaque visor, one-way visor that from the outside resembles one of his quirk's creations, with a strange smokey texture to it.

Naruhiko is a quirky character, disliking things that are sweet or too colorful but would rather eat the candy rather than throw it out. He’s overall friendly, and will try to get along with another even if they don’t want to get along with him. While preferring excessively thick clothes he abhors the heat, but mostly due to the fact that to avoid the heat, he’d have to take off his coat. No matter the time of day, Naruhiko is always stressed, and he deals with that stress by being a social butterfly. His moods in conversations sway drastically compared to most, and he often wears said emotions on his shoulder even while trying to hide them.

Naruhiko was born to a kind family. They were never troubled by crime in the region they lived in, and all three of them loved watching the news to see the exploits of heros. His parents picked favorites among the  active heroes, and would often get into arguments about which is best but Naruhiko didn’t care, so long as they won in the end. While schooling, Naruhiko made few friends, and when everyone’s quirks began manifesting, he was left in the dust, thinking he had no quirk. A few years passed and his parents relationship started getting strained as both worried about their child’s life in school, but had different ways to get around it.

Eventually, when he was 12 years old, far past when everyone had their quirk, his school caught fire. Nobody figured out what caused such a fire, but during the inferno all of the kids had to be evacuated. The smoke billowed in the air and the teachers trying to get everyone to safety were starting to choke on the smog. Feeling strange when near all this soke, Naruhiko strained his muscles, creating a small bubble around his group that pushed all the smoke back. The rest of the students stared at him in awe for a few moments, before everyone evacuated the school. This was the first time he had ever used his quirk, and the shock of realizing he had one forced him to silence for several days.

Eventually, at home his parents approached him, glad about his quirk and handed him a set of smoke ball fireworks. They had various colors, one bright blue, the other bright red, and when lit they created lots of smoke. He learned that he could take the smoke they made and shape it into various objects. His favorite so far was a small ball, which he found to be extremely fun to throw against the wall and watch it shatter everywhere. As he tested his quirk, he ran out of smoke balls and his parents happily gave him more; after all a happy child makes happy parents. However the divide that was caused by several years of appearing quirkless still stuck with his mother and father.

Later on in life they his parents broke up, and his father kept custody of him. Staying in school, the stress of his parents breakup forced him to seek attention elsewhere; and the other students were his target. He ended up making plenty of friends, and the thought of going to school to become a hero entered his mind. His parents always argued on which heroes were best, but what if he could become a hero? They would have to root for him. Making up his mind he decided that he would attend the best hero academy out there, UA. His father loved the idea of his son being a hero, and once he was accepted, let Naruhiko attend the academy. After the initial test, he was assigned to Class 1-A.

[b]Ch2.[/b]

Naruhiko didn't seem to thrive in 1-A as much as the other students did, but he made several friends. In his times in the class, his closest friends were Arthur, Rie, and oddly enough Yuan-Sun prior to her expulsion. Being more on the outside of his class, he tended toward befriending those in other classes, like Aito Betoyama, Lumia Peura and Kijuro Shiroki. After being in school for a few months, a couple of his friends seemed to drop out (or get expelled in Yuan-Sun's case,) only to break contact completely. All he had heard of Lumia, was what the rest of the other students were saying and he himself couldn't believe what he was hearing. This unneeded stress on his psyche caused him to almost stray from his own heroic path as news of his family arrived.

Naruhiko's father, [a href="http://fightforjustice.boards.net/post/19966"]Takehiko Tachibana[/a], had been held hostage by his mother, a known criminal. The first day he found out was during the parent-teacher conferences in UA, where his father had his first chance at freedom away from his ex-wife's prying eyes. Having seen too many of those close to him fall, Naruhiko decided to go after his mother on his own; lying to the UA teachers and his fellow students while recklessly chasing after his mother while preparing for the worst. Unfortunately for him, this was in his mother's plans, and the moment he gone missing the Rookie Hero known as Fate was sent to apprehend him. [a href="http://fightforjustice.boards.net/post/19966"]Mai Tanaka[/a], Naruhiko's mother, attempted to get close to her son while distracting Fate, succeeding and exchanging words with her lost son. After finding out that her son was so close to becoming the creation she had wanted him to become, she attempted killing the hero who had joined them but in a burst of recklessness Naruhiko knocked him out of the way, receiving the knife to himself instead. Having failed, Mai bluffed and tried to escape, but was apprehended by the rookie hero while Naruhiko was brought to the hospital. After these events, Yu Yagami, also known as Fate, began to train Naruhiko and the two of them kept what happened with Naruhiko's mother as a secret between the two of them.

Once Naruhiko had fully recovered from his injury, the Exams had started up, and he had barely enough time to prepare for them. He was assigned to a group of three by Morinji Shu, their teacher also known as Tanuki. Their goal was to rescue several automatons from a lightly burning but heavily destroyed building. It didn't take them very long to recover most of the groups; Rie and Arthur being brute force while Naruhiko kept any smoke at bay and acted as eyes to locate more wounded. On the final floor they had come across a difficult area, with a woman crying over a deceased man who had saved her. Knowing that he had recently dealt with loss of his own, that of his mother and his innocent past, he decided to handle the crying woman himself while the others continued further. Talking to the automaton, he was able to convince her with the knowledge that the man's sacrifice was not in vain so long as she survived and left the building with her; followed by Rie and an unconscious Arthur. Their actions during the exam had been deemed worthy enough for all three of them to progress further in UA, passing their exams and becoming second years.

As if karma did exist to keep balance in the world, his mentor, Yu Yagami, vanished without a trace. Confused as to where his mentor went despite the two of them keeping such a thing a secret from the other students, Naruhiko would double down on his heroic duties; after all, if he were to find out where Fate went, his chances of success would explode dramatically once he graduated.

[b]QUIRK DESCRIPTION:[/b] Naruhiko’s quirk allows him to manipulate and control smoke of various substances. While manipulating smoke, he cause it to move where he wants it to be, and then manipulate it and solidify it into various constructs. The darker and thicker the smoke, the more he can produce, with a small puff of cigarette smoke being able to produce small, fine tools like a pair of scissors or a pair of glasses. While being able to control the smoke, he is also able to breath perfectly fine through smoke like substances as if they were air. This allows him to store smoke inside his lungs to be exhaled when he needs it.

Objects will always have the same color or tint of the smoke used to create them, but will otherwise assume the shape and texture of whatever material it was supposed to be originally made from. A normal kitchen knife would have a wooden grip, and a steel blade but would be made out of entirely light-gray materials while a pair of glasses made out of thick black smoke would be more akin to sunglasses, rather than reading glasses. The more smoke available, the larger and more intricate the object he can create. Currently, Naruhiko is able to control a single typhokinetic construct at a time. Due to extensive practice in using his quirk during both in and out of combat situations, the single construct created no longer causes stress on Naruhiko's body over time but creating full strength constructs are increasingly taxing on the body, limiting him to only three full strength constructs a day.

[b]QUIRK DRAWBACKS:[/b]
[Typhokinesis is difficult to use for defense as anything created out of the smoke is limited in durability. It can exert force on others but the moment a force large enough to bend metal is applied to the creation, the smoke used to create it dissipates. This means that swords or other weaponry made from the smoke is often quite brittle, being able to strike something only a few times before expeling all smoke used to create it outward. After a construct has been separated, it takes time for the smoke to reform to create a new object, causing excessive stress on Naruhiko. Thicker smoke is harder to manipulate and takes more time to produce an object out of, but is much stronger, becoming as solid as a piece of steel rather than a piece of iron. Controlling clouds of smoke causes extreme stress on Naruhiko’s body as focusing on a smaller point is much easier than controlling a wide area. Excessive use of this quirk causes muscle fatigue as if running an extended marathon.
