Brahma came to Lanka. He said to Ravana's son, "Now call yourself Indrajit, Indra's Conqueror. Free him and take something from me in return."

Indrajit answered, "Immortality.''

"Prince, I cannot give that gift to you, if you have asked for it.''

Indrajit said, "Grandfather of the Worlds, when Ravana is in danger may I call up with offerings from the fire altar a war chariot drawn by four tigers that moves at will; while I ride on it may I be charmed to win any battle against any creature ; and may no one but other Rakshasas see me when I wish to fight invisible."

"I give all that," said Brahma. Indrajit held out the dungeon key but Lord Brahma will never touch a weapon. By thought Brahma first removed from Indra's mind all despair and fear. He sent the idea- *l am free* -and so annihilated the jail walls.
