  1. Rain poured heavily upon the battle scarred waste, two beings, once side by side, now find themselves as enemies. Yellow eyes, wracked with pain at what is before him hesitantly grips the gun tightly in his hand. It couldn't be.
  2.
  3. And yet, there was no mistaking that purple. Those green eyes he had once looked into. The person before him that reminded him of the many nights under the stars.... Now aimed her blade at him as the downpour continued.
  4.
  5. Looking at her only furthered to lessen his resolve, he couldn't bring to harm the one person whom he cared about, who had saved him from the darkness that sought to claim him. And now... Staring down the end of a sword, emotions swelled and collided in a mixture of uncertainty and duty.
  6.
  7. "Shea.... Why?" He asked, his voice almost caught in his throat, he may be machine but even this pain was too familiar. "Do you not recognize me?" He asked her, his mind desperate for an answer, anything for a reason she was before him.
  8.
  9. And yet... The fox before him said nothing, the silence amidst the hammering rain cut deep in the dog, his grip tightening. "I-it's me! Hajime!" He called out. "You remember me right?!" He asked calling out, the pain in his chest tightening further to be only met with her change in stance to a readied stance, Hajime taking a step back. "Shea... Please... Don't do this...." He begged, there had to be some part of her in there.
  10.
  11. The fox lunged into action, her blade poised with each strike, each swing and swipe aimed at him as he narrowly avoided each attack, the tightness only wound further as he grit his teeth, warmth running from his face. He had to. If not he would be killed. And yet... The thought of hurting Shea was an incomprehensible pain that he wouldn't dare fathom.
  12.
  13. Holstering his gun he drew his knife, she was in there, she had to be. She saved him... It was his turn to be there for her. Meeting her attacks with his knife he began a counter offensive, the song of blades sound in the pouring rain as feet splash amidst wet ground. Attacks dodged and weave.
  14.
  15. "SHEA! ANSWER ME! YOU HAVE TO BE IN THERE! COME TO REASON!!" He yelled, pleading, begging as he bit back bitter tears as their blades clashed again and again before her blade met it's mark, cutting into his cheek as Hajime moved to dodge, his knife cutting into his arm.
  16.
  17. The fox tightened the grip and resumed her assault, Hajime countering and evading any lethal hits as their dance continued. "YOU DON'T! HAVE TO DO THIS SHEA!" He called out to her as her blade hesitated as he backed off. She was in there after all.
  18.
  19. "SHEA! FIGHT IT PLEASE! THIS ISN'T YOU!" He shouted, his hand gripping his shirt, this cruel joke played upon him was unbearable.
  20.
  21. "sh.... she...." A voice faintly called out in the expansive darkness, a familiar voice. Yet so quiet amongst the sound. "SHEA!!" The voice tore through the sound and darkness to the small girl, rousing her consciousness. That voice... It belonged to someone... Someone important to the little girl.
  22.
  23. "Ha... Yate..." The purple fox struggled to say, her blade wavering as she stepped back.
  24.
  25. Hayate looked to the fox, he was hesitant as he reached out. "Yes... Shea it's me!" He said to her. "You're still in there, you remember me right?!" He asked, moving closer.
  26.
  27. Through the darkness a familiar face, Hayate's. And yet... It looked so sad. Why? But before she could get her answers the darkness grew more, pulling her back under as the fox girl steadied her blade and got ready once more.
  28.
  29. Hayate stepped back, fear gripping him as he watched her ready her weapon against him. This... This was too cruel. Even for the gods. Even for their makers. He dropped his knife and walked towards her. "Shea... It's alright... I know... Its dark now... But I'll reach through to you somehow..." He told her, preparing for another assault.
  30. [2:58 PM]
  31. "Hayate is in pain... I have... To help him...!" Shea said, fighting against the darkness that threatened to swallow her. during this, Hayate evades various assaults from her, his body being cut as he avoided the more lethal attacks.
  32.
  33. "Hayate... Hayate....!!" She thought as she continued to fight before she finally got control of herself, and yet... As the fog of darkness faded, she felt him embrace her, his warmth against hers as another warm liquid spilled onto her hands. Her green eyes looked to him, then slowly down. Blood. "Ha... Yate...?" She questioned, her voice trembling as pained yellow eyes looked upon scared greens.
  34.
  35. "I... Finally reached you... Dummy...." He said softly, coughing up blood. His breathing was ragged, strained, he placed his head against hers. "You... Pulled me from... My darkness... And now... It was my turn...." He said coughing before slumping against Shea. She grabbed him and carefully removed the sword as she knelt down with him in her arms.
  36.
  37. "Hayate... Why...?" She questioned, her hands trembling as she looked at the wound, so much blood... His body had been cut up and stabbed... By her. She looked to him fear in her eyes before his hand reached up and gingerly touched her cheek.
  38.
  39. "Because... I love you.... I always have... When I found you again.... It was like... Color returned... But... It was as if there was a rift separating us..." He told her, his breathing ragged and shaky.
  40.
  41. "Don't talk... We can get this fixed, Hayate!" She said holding him.
  42.
  43. "When... We finally met again.... I didn't think.... It would be like this.... I just... Couldn't being myself.... To hurt you..." Hayate said coughing blood but softly smiled. "THis.... Was my only way...." He told her softly.
  44.
  45. She looked at him, fear and sadness in her eyes as she began to rummage through her pack. "Don't... Don't worry, I can... I can stop the bleeding, then we get you help!" She said as she began treating his wounds. "Just... Just stay with me, Hayate!" She said unaware of the silence as she soon finished.
  46.
  47. "Okay, I... I stopped the bleeding, Hayate... We can get you help!" She said looking to him, his eyes closed as he was limp in her arms. "H... Hayate...?" She called to him with no response. "H- Hey! Hayate!" She shouted, shaking him gently. "Hayate! Hayate open your eyes! You can't die now!" She yelled, tears welling as she laid him down gently.
  48.
  49. Placing a hand upon his chest she focused and channeled electricity into him. "You can't die yet!" She shouted hitting him again with electricity. "We still have so much to do! You can't die on me Hayate!" She yelled, hitting him again with another shock. "Don't leave me, Hayate!!" She yelled to him, giving a much stronger shock, tears streaming. She couldn't have killed him. She refused to believe it as she continued trying to bring him back as the sound of the rain continued to crash down.
  50.
  51. She stopped as she looked to him, still, silent, bloodied. "Hayate.... Come back.... Please...!" She begged, lifting him and hugging him tightly. "Don't leave me... Not again... I love you you idiot... So don't go..."She sobbed as she held him tight in the rain.
  52.
  53. Soon, she felt a soft thrum of energy. Then another. "Hayate...?" She called out, looking to the dog boy. She'd feel his chest, the familiar thrum of energy pulsed softly, as he had come back. She carefully moved him onto her back as she used her jacket to tie him to her back. "Hang on, I'll get you patched up..." Shea said, walking towards the city.
