➳「 WHY SO SERIOUS
mirae is the person who will treat you with respect no matter where you come from or what reputation follows you. she will always be there to encourage you and to test your limits so that you excel. she (almost) never smiles at people when walking down a hallway or meeting someone for the first time, instead, she gives a nod of acknowledgment. she never breaks the rules and will always follow directions no matter what, any assignment she gets is important to her and will treat it with importance. she makes sure to tell her classmates the reality of their situation and won’t hesitate to point out anyone who’s not putting in effort into their work. she will always be respectful no matter how she is treated, she’d rather look like a fool than an asshole.

➳「 LEADER OF THE WORLD
mirae has always been mature, the moment she landed in the academy she was determined to not let anyone intimidate her at all. she was focused and never let failure bring her down. mirae rarely gives time to foolishness, but every so often she gives a gentle smile and comforting words. she makes sure her fellow classmates know they are all strong and that they can be even stronger with more effort. mirae thinks logically and is realistic, she will not give false hope but only tell you to try your hardest. many of the humans saw her with more respect as she excelled, and they often asked her for help. she didn’t notice at first that they saw her as some sort of leader until it was too late.

➳「 THE FORCED BRAVERY
she began to feel like it was her job to look good and to be good. it felt like everyone was watching and that she needed to be there for everyone. it is a heavyweight on her shoulders, but she will never admit it because she thinks it’s her duty to help others and show a great example. especially with the humans, she felt like she was representing them and the way they kept relying on her is pressuring, but there is no way in hell she will ever admit because they shell seem ungrateful. she is prepared to take on anything, even if it means faking her bravery for the sake of others.

➳「 FLAWS
mirae is human, we tend to have major flaws. hers are the fact that she takes everything too serious, it makes her seem like she has a stick up her ass. situations that she can’t control stress the hell out of her. it can be something that is way out her range and she’d feel guilty and stress over how it could have been prevented. she will spend sleepless nights thinking and thinking about how she can/could have solved a problem. during stressful times she is quite strict and likes to remind everyone that they must be their absolute best, she will point out what you need to work on and call you out if you were messing around.
when she feels a lot of pressure, she’ll usually keep it to herself. she’d focus on what the positive points are while wipes away tears caused by someone who got disappointed when she didn’t help them out. she has an image to keep up in order to give the humans hope and she can’t let herself slip.
she is quite self-righteous and dislikes breaking rules. she’s naive when it comes to that, she trusts authority and won’t believe anyone else until she gets proven wrong.


BACKGROUND:
❝ THE PARENTS ❞
jonathon hemmings grew up in mevagissey, england where he knew everyone and everything. his parents had always expected him to follow in the family business of fishermen and so, he did as he was told. but at age 31 he felt a need to break his routine, tired of seeing the same women and cloudy skies. he decided that he’d move to south korea and create a new life there. he left with a purpose and never looked back.
landing in jeju island, he saw the beauty of nature and instantly fell in love with the land. at the time, the island was fascinating and full of life. jonathan immediately found a job as a fisherman and he quickly found a home. he soon met soojin, a 26 year old who was looking for true love. they met at a market where she thanked him for bringing so much fish for their neighborhood.
the two fell in deep love immediately and were quick to wed. they felt like the only people in the world and he couldn’t have been happier when he found out she was pregnant. their first child was a girl, they named her mirae. they had their second child after two years and once mirae was five she had four younger siblings. they all lived in a good home with big fields and near the ocean.

❝ GROWING UP ❞
mirae was raised in a full house. she lived with her mother and father, two littles sisters, two little brothers, her grandmother and grandfather. their family was traditional, meaning her mom stayed him doing chores and raising the kids while her father and grandfather went out and fished all day. her mom always told mirae to value their family because it was the only thing they will always have no matter what.
at age 7, her father left them for some reason. he packed his bags and left without a word. that same year, her grandmother passed away. her mother was devastated and struggled to maintain strong for her children. she began to work at the market everyday and got home very late.
mirae was put in charge of taking her younger siblings to school and making sure her grandmother was well. after school, she’d help her siblings with homework and give them the food their mom left for them in the morning. that was the usual routine for them.
at school, mirae has always been studious, she always completed work first and paid attention in class. she didn’t really make friends since she was focused on belong her mother at home. she had two or three friends, all of which were very dear to her.
her relationship with her mom was almost nonexistent. she loved her, but her mother always carried a resentment towards her and her siblings. she probably thought she wasted her life on a man who just left her with five children. mirae had more of a mother/daughter relationship with her grandmother. her grandmother cared more about them than her mother did.
when is comes to her father, mirae just says she never met him even though she remembers the nicknames he had for her.

❝ THE BEGINNING ❞
it began on a sunday, mirae was 10 years old at the time and she didn’t completely understand why certain things were happening. she had seen news reports about a virus hitting seoul and how it was impacting citizens very quickly. her mother felt they were safer where they were and didn’t want to move away. but that worried mirae since many neighbors have moved away to safety. there were whispers of an underground refuge and her mother simply brushed it off.
it was a mistake that brought misery to her family. it was midnight when they heard screams of terror, growls that brought immediate fear. if you ask her how she felt, she wouldn’t give you an answer. they were told by a neighbor that the carriers have reached the island and they it was necessary to leave immediately. there were boats waiting for people to take them somewhere safe. her mother did not want to leave. she insisted on staying, but her grandmother literally said fuck you, i’m not dying cause you’re dumb and took the kids towards the docks. there were people running and crying, mirae could see some that were infected and never forgot their soulless stares.
 they got to the docks without any problems and were led to a boat. there were many people, so much they could hardly move. they were told they’d be going to a place not even the government could find and that they’d be safe there.
the boat ride still gives mirae nightmares. they would send sick people overboard to prevent any possible infections. people crying and panicking over their loved ones. she though if her mom a lot, feeling guilty of how she quickly left her.
the following day was all a blur to mirae, her grandma woke her up and she was in a bed. apparently she had been carried there since she fell asleep. it was strange to see nothing but bleakness when looking out the window. she was used to lively fields of flowers and green grass.
there were people who would come by and give them clothes and food for the apartment. one day a woman came by and asked mirae how old she was. it was later explained how they are recruiting students for an academy where they train to help their country. she said no. she needed to take care of her grandmother and siblings, but her grandma told her to go. to help out and bring their old lives back.

    so i wrote mirae based off captain america/steve rogers because she reminds me of him in some ways. i guess you can say he was my inspiration for her and i hope you don’t mind that he was.
    also, I’m not so sure about how I rated her skills. I tried to put it realistically and based off humans, but if I need to humble it down tell me.
