- == GOAL =============================================================
- Complete areas 1, 5, and 6.
- You do not need to enter any other areas besides these three or collect any items from the neutral zones.
- == TIMING ===========================================================
- Timing ends when the screen fades out after the core is destroyed in Area 6. Stop at the first frame of the fade-out animation (the first frame in which you can see the screen is getting dimmer).
- == SUGGESTIONS ======================================================
- Both the 100% and the Any% categories have videos up on SDA (http://speeddemosarchive.com/BionicCommando.html). Area 1 is only done in the 100% run, while Areas 5 and 6 are done in both of these videos.
- There are three other decent runs available:
- * An Any% run by Zeth Hattory
- part1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5xBW-IUcj8
- part2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGbVE1wXWH4
- * Scott Kessler's Any% run from 2004:
- http://archive.org/details/BionicCommando_1820
- * The current Any% WR:

- All 5 runs have their share of good strats that are worth considering, even the runs with slower overall times.
- The "hop" move that you see used everywhere (where it looks like your character is doing a small jump) is achieved by connecting your grapple line to something at a 45-degree angle, initiating a swing (by pressing right or left on the d-pad), and then cancelling the swing (by pressing down on the d-pad) just a few frames after the swing has begun. How quickly you break out of the swing affects whether you hop to the left or to the right.
