ARPG with a girl entering a forbidden tower, looking for her sister. The gameplay is schematic and straightforward.
Has a few puzzles and well-designed bosses which use different attacks as they get hurt.
The story is touching, and it's available for free on Steam. Go give it a look!

An ARPG that wants to be Crystalis very bad. Gameplay is quite decent.
You play as an edgy fallen evil lord on a quest of revenge and destruction, in a world of pretty grey morality.
While it looks like an 8-bit game, it seems to run on its own engine.

If the premise sounds convincing, the game absolutely delivers. Sequel in the works. Multiple languages available.
Got plenty of updates over the years. Nonlinear, a lot of content is optional, and some parts are pretty challenging.

Oldschool Zelda'esque ARPG with Foxeye's trademark underwater (drowning fetish says hello!) sections.
Girl in a swimsuit stuck on an island with pirates and bears, the latter being shopkeepers. Pretty fun.
Partial nudity and drowning, but no real sexual content. It's free, so check it out if you're curious.
