Megaman X Command Mission Any% Glitchless FAQ

Q: What is this game?
A: This is an RPG based on the Megaman X series. Strictly filler, I play as X, Zero, Axl, and friends along the way to defeat Redips and get back Giga City and defeat the Rebellion Army.

Q: What's WR?
A: 3:40 In-Game Time by gameOOpoona (spelling?)

Q: What glitch is not in the category?
A: In the JP versions only, with some awkward menuing, weapons, force metal, and items can be underflowed and any weapon can be cheated in to any character. This makes the game a lot faster, but I don't have the JP disc, and it's boring to tear through the game with a good time being possible with low encounters.

Q: Do you beat Ninetails, Rafflesian, or Duckbill Mole in the run?
A: Ninetails is a different category that I'm not sure I want to do without the Oil Can route. (Getting the Oil Can Sub-Weapon, which is a 2% drop rate, and using Fire Weapons from Chapter 5 onward). Rafflesian and Duckbill are too far out of the way to fight and make worth, because they take forever, and Ultimate Armor/Absolute Zero can't make the time up.

Q: Isn't the Gamecube verion faster?
A: Real-Time, yes, In-Game Time, no. All IGT is the same between the versions. The Gamecube version has more random encounters, and I think more difficult.

Q: Do you grind EXP or anything?
A: No. The EXP really doesn't matter too much, but I do grind 1 battle for Massimo's 4th button Action Trigger early to do insane amounts of damage later. I need to deal 10,000 damage in 1 hit with his Action Trigger to unlock it. And, the EXP comes from the boss fights.

Q: How so?
A: +EXP at the end of boss fights makes the run easy/more possible. The way to get bonus EXP is this:
	If you hit the boss's Weakness: 		+10
	If no one dies:							+10
	Using no HYPER Modes:					+10
	Final blow is dealt with Action Trigger:+5
	Number of Final Strike hits = X			+X
	Number of Turns:
		1-8: 100
		9-16: 50
		17-24: 40
		25-32: 30
		33-40: 20
		41-48: 10
		49-64: 5
		>64: 0
	This gets added to a total value of bonus EXP at the end:
		0-10: +0%
		11-20: +10%
		21-40: +20%
		41-60: +30%
		61-80: +50%
		81-100: +75%
		>101: +100%
	So, the aim is to get the most Final Strike hits with at least X and either Spider or Axl or someone that deals more hits than Massimo, but as long as the turns are low, just X can handle it.
	Example:
	For 100%, a good way is:
		No one dying, 9-16 turns, and at least 41 Final Strike hits is: 10+50+41=101=+100%

Q: So, no random encounter fights, just bosses, is there enough EXP to make it so you don't lose every fight?
A: Yep. And, most bosses after Chapter 5 are pretty much going to be +100% easily, so that's how.

Q: Do you use the Force Metal Generator?
A: Once for a WE +5, I think. Nothing is useful from the FMG for the run.

Q: Is money tight?
A: Yes. Getting Massimo's Interceptor from the Secret Lagrano shop is very tight, but it works out, just barely.

Q: Do you use the Deployment?
A: Yes, for the Lagrano Key and Generator, since Power Charge comes up in the run, because most Sub-Weapons suck.

Q: Can the run die anywhere?
A: Yes. When getting Massimo's Action Trigger I could fuck it up and waste like 5 minutes+, and I'm not sure if not getting the +75% or +100% EXP on Silver Horn makes Jentra terrible. Encounters suck, but not as bad as hitting Spinners in Pokemon runs.

Q: This run is long.
A: No shit, but there are plenty of other RPGs that are way longer.

Q: Do you have a goal time?
A: Not really, I just wanna finish a good run and get WR, which shouldn't be difficult since I don't get Oil Can for Ninetails.

Q: There isn't a leaderboard for MMXCM? Why?
A: The guy who runs the Megaman Speedrun Leaderboard website is a fucking moron and doesn't realize people actually use speedrun.com a lot more than some shitty site and won't merge the leaderboards. So much so, the MMXCM forums are dead, so I had to watch the WR run that gets encoding errors on twitch and is almost impossible to watch and had to make notes based on the JP version. Fuck Joka.
