  1. Tracer review - Playing like a solo queue tracer
  2.
  3. You're playing almost a classic dive comp, so what's your role as tracer in this comp? - Harass the enemy backline, co-ordinate properly with your winston to dive / focus targets. Communication NEEDS to be there with your winston
  4.
  5. 7:05 This jump pad use is fine, it gives you a good view of the enemy team ; you see that d.va is on high ground alone "monkey dropped"
  6.
  7. 7:06 - You literally will not one clip the mercy, she's in the air which makes it much harder for your team to dive her, you have no one going with you onto the mercy, why did you choose her as a target? 1.) You likely won't get the kill, your mechanics are not there and your team can't help without a call 2.) You've now put yourself in a position with no blinks at all and only a recall, meaning you'll have to use your only ability left to get back to your team if the enemy wants to dive your team
  8.
  9. D.va is right there on the platform ready for you to put clips into and farm your pulse bomb, it's a much safer and generally better option, because you can force her DM and her boosters meaning you guys keep control of the high ground and have time to plan before they try to recontest you
  10.
  11. 7:12 What's the problem with this positioning? If your team calls a dive, you will be approaching from the same direction as them, straight into the target
  12. When you go for the pressure on the ana, she sees you coming. If you attempt this in higher elos, you will get punished for it, the ana will straight up sleep you.
  13.
  14. Instead, we want to be setting up a dive from a different angle instead of solo diving when we KNOW they have sleep. You pull off the dive on the ana, but you get your recall and all blinks forced out in the process. And because of that, when their tanks come to you and winston, you aren't able to fight properly because you have no way
  15. to get your health back.
  16.
  17. 7:30 I'm very confused, why do you ignore the d.va again? Your own d.va is dying but you could certainly trade her life for a demech if you help her out, the enemy d.va didn't have her team supporting her.
  18.
  19. 7:31 Solo diving this mercy makes absolutely 0 sense, what do you achieve from it? We're trying to make too many solo carry plays, instead of focusing on the bigger picture
  20. The win condition is taking out the ana, which allows us to kill their tanks since they can't outheal the damage, all whilst farming nano blade. Instead, we should be farming our own ult - pulse bomb, whilst we're waiting for our team to regroup. Sticking around like this is extremely dangerous as it can stagger your spawn and give the enemy an extra 15% as you'd have to set up your flank position all over again. Your awareness of each situation is lacking
  21.
  22. 7:40 this late demech onto the dva is good even though we got it by luck
  23.
  24. 7:50 you're in a decent position for when your team comes back to set up a dive, yet you use all cooldowns to get back to your team and start again? We Didn't even farm up a pulse bomb in all that time, it seems like you were a bit confused.
  25.
  26. 8:10 So now the win condition of the fight is slightly different, you want to force out moiras fade but it'll be slightly more difficult. Your main focus now in these fights is farming nano blade and pulse bomb and taking down the pharah, so tracer doesn't become a great pick at this point once they've switched to moira. You should just follow your winstons calls in these fights coming up, it's all to farm nano blade as they dont have a defensive ulti
  27.
  28. 8:30 I don't understand why you're constantly showing yourself, you're literally just feeding ult charge with the pointless damage you're doing. It's better for you to be a hidden threat to the enemy, if they dont know where you are then they have to play more cautious and scared, making it easier for your team to execute a plan.
  29.
  30. 8:33 This is not a good use of pulse bomb because you've had no indication from your team to when they're ready to go in, your lucio is still coming back from spawn and you haven't discussed a plan. If the enemy team was smart enough, they would've fell back and not taken a 5v6 fight which they lose, they would've waited and recontested at the
  31. last second before you capped. In higher levels of play, you really can't do this, everything has to be organised.
  32.
  33. You follow along with the target calls in the fight, all is good,
  34. 9:25 Why do you target the pharah? You've forced out moiras most important ability; her escape. You should be following your winstons target call and hunt down the moira, this leaves their whole team with only healing from the mercy which is almost a guaranteed fight win for you.
  35.
  36. I see you changed to a mccree, since your ana is more vulnerable than their moira it's now your responsibility to duel the enemy tracer and stop her from getting to your ana which will prevent a full dive onto her. It also takes some pressure off of your mccree and allows him to focus on the enemy pharah
  37.
  38. 10:03 Once again, you should be waiting for your winston before you stage a dive onto the moira. You can't solo her whilst she has her cooldowns up, wait for your winston to call a dive. Exposing yourself early and showing the other team where you are, forcing your own recall, it doesn't help anyone.
  39. You recover well with the stick onto the winston though, that's a good kill.
  40.
  41. 10:10 As soon as you get healing you should be looking to deny the rez, letting your team know "watch for winston rez"
  42.
  43. 11:07 This is good positioning, unseen threat, you should be informing your team which side the enemy team is going
  44.
  45. 11:12 I really don't like this engage onto pharah, why do you think? Neither team has engaged yet, and you're in their territory. It's easy for them to peel and save pharah, but extremely hard for you to get out. Timing of your engagements needs work. Luckily your team bails you out, but you're left with NO blinks and NO recall, and because of this you're able to do nothing as your winston dies.
  46.
  47. For the rest of the fight, you keep switching targets. I can understand it can be hard as a DPS when there's not a lot of consistent target calling, but at that point you should be focusing on your win condition (which we identified earlier as dueling the enemy tracer to protect your backline)
  48. There was a "winston can die" call in the fight so we should've been following that at one point.
  49.
  50. 11:48 The reason why I don't like this pulse bomb - You misjudge the damage you do to D.va - she has armour for the first portion of her health so you end up doing reduced damage anyway, and the pulse bomb only does 350 out of 600 of her health. A full clip to armour won't get her to 350hp, especially with mercy heals. Judgement of what we can do with pulse bomb needs to improve, I would've gone for the mercy with it because D.va can't DM whilst getting back into mech
  51.
  52. The rest of the fight is kind of a repeat of what you've been doing - you don't really have a specified target and there was no communication with your winston, it takes way too long to kill a mercy and you end up dying
  53.
  54. Things we need to work on for tracer :
  55. Communication with your team / dive partners (winston)
  56. Pulse bomb timing and usage
  57. Focusing on our win condition / role as tracer
  58. Engagement timing
  59. Who we target and why we target them, especially in teamfights
  60. Staying unseen as a tracer / hidden threat in order to keep the enemy team passive
