  3. We are well aware that today is April Fools Day, but I can assure you that what you see in SolidifiedGaming’s video is 100% real through the use of 2 new glitches: Text Storage and Yoshi Teleporting. These glitches allow us to get out of bounds in the room that would allow for Palace Skip.
  4.
  5. We start off by entering a battle and getting an item drop. The goal is to position the item in the room such that an enemy can chase after you if you were to stand where the item is. After the item is positioned, we walk far left and then do neutral jumps to the right with Goombella out. In doing so, Goombella does not move towards us. Therefore, when we perform a Goombella buffer, this distance makes her move before opening her text box. This means that we can collect the item right before her text box appears. After closing out of the item acquisition textbox, the delayed Goombella textbox appears. Ending the item acquisition textbox allows enemies to start moving again, but because we delayed Goombella, we still have the text box open as the Ember starts a battle with us.
  6.
  7. Now we need to run away from this battle, which requires pressing A and Z such that we run away without closing the text box. Next, we switch out Goombella for Koops, hold down X to activate Koops, and walk left while Koops is still active. We face right against the left wall and release Koops when he can hit the Ember. Inside the battle, we switch to Yoshi, and then run away. Because we’re facing right against the left wall and the fact that partners spawn behind Mario, Yoshi spawns out of bounds and begins falling. We pause and press A to re-select Yoshi. This isn’t necessary, but you can press A in a pause menu to buffer closing the textbox. This way, closing out of the menu, you can hold down, press X, and teleport to Yoshi’s Y-position underneath the floor. We aren’t 100% sure why this works, but we believe this works because closing Goombella’s textbox makes the game updates an active partner’s state, allowing for Mario to reactivate the partner.

  9. We begin falling, but even though the room below us isn’t loaded, there is a spring that IS loaded. While falling, we can hit it and rise back up to the seam of the Palace Skip room.
  10.
  11. From here...Well...We’re stumped. As shown near the end of the video, you can use the spring to get behind the door. By walking around the perimeter of the area behind the door, you can get behind the door on the Z-axis. From here, we need a way to get on the back seam because you can fall down from it into a loading zone farther to the right. Trying to reach this from the front seam isn’t possible because with the best theories we have, we’re still 79 units off on the Z-axis, which is a pretty significant amount.
  12.
  13. We need a way to get around the corners of the room. The corners have hitboxes on all sides, meaning that we cannot stand on the edge of them like we can on the other seams. Their hitboxes are pretty wide too, so it is most likely impossible to jump around them.
