- The party does battle with the shadows, and it goes poorly. Both Mira and Vasileios fall during the encounter. Their companions bring them to the statue of Mortwin in the center of the crypt. There, they undergo the ritual as specified in the note, and it functions successfully.
- Vasileios and Mira have a conversation about their impressions of the afterlife, before the memories fade, as if a dream.
- The four move on to the left chamber. There, they find a note cautioning them against greed, advising them to avoid middle paths, and to placate the 'guardian' with gems.
- Bearing this in mind, they open a hidden door, revealing a chamber with an immense amount of wealth in it. They each take a weapon from the rack, other than Vasileios, and a gem. All of them avoid the central money-trough.
- Moving on, they make their way to a series of portals, and correctly navigate through them, arriving in the guardian's chamber.
- The guardian appears to be a slug afflicted with Brilliant Pestilence, a disease originating from Tarmyra's layer of the beyond.
- Instead of battling it, they placate it with gems. The slug appears to recognize Vasileios, and is briefly stunned whenever he comes within range of its blindsight.
- The party moves on. Vasileios returns to the slug and removes its affliction with his magic. Slightly perplexed about the slug's evident lack of intelligence, and receiving no answers to the question he had, he departs.
- In the north room, they encounter an Iaril, a mage corrupted by the power of Emon-Lon. It held the scepter of mortwin.
- The party does battle with the creature and emerges victorious.
- Vasileios collects the scepter, and the party leaves the tomb.
- The tomb disappears behind them, and leaves no evident trace.
