  104. yeah no op.. sorry but tod is really promising and great on paper, when you actually get to play the game.. it becomes this sort of bland and tedious fest of going through the same motions over and over... the items don't any more sophisticated beyond the bare basics for each class, there's not much depth in the skill system either.. overall it's great for a one time thing but I wouldn't play it ever again. Prince of Qin has the same exact problem btw.

  134. 3D card-based ARPGs. You fight against monsters and other summoners by throwing out cards that summon monsters. Everybody can run around the battlefield, summoner(s) included. The summoned creatures act independently from you. Some cards also let you attack more directly, instead of summoning a creature. You can even hit people with the cards themselves to do chip damage or capture monsters pokayman style.

  144. If you emulate these games, make sure you keep multiple save states just in case. The emulation isn't quite 100%.

  146. Also, cards can be 'levelled up' into different cards. Use this to turn shit cards into rare cards. Try and get one of every card ASAP. You can unlock secret levels if you have enough cards of a given element.

  148. Lastly, at the end of each level you get to choose from some random cards. There's almost always a rare one (often the card for the boss of the level). I recommend savescumming to get it.

  532. I remember playing the demo with sisko on the frozen planet, the thrill, the stealth, the pacing, it was amazing. Saved up and finally bought it. I must have spent days on playing it, it was genuinely really good, no health regen or other bullshit of the sort. You had to actually plan everything you do and avoid shootfests, the tricorder was a nice touch too.

  556. This half-baked Diablo 2 clone was pretty fun.
  557. It has combo mechanics and chance to cut off limbs from your enemies. No actual items to equip, but you could infuse different types of gems to improve your character stats. And then there also was a shitton of usable items to aid you in combat.

  623. So this is a 2001 game made by some dude that... apparently killed himself a couple years after it got released. Playing it as a kid, I distinctly remember it having piss poor graphics as the biggest standout to it being shit, well because it's literally mspaint shit, however, once you look past it you will see that there's like a bunch of stuff to be done in it, it's like a cross between your typical dungeon crawler and open world sandbox game. You can hike mountains, build houses, dig tunnels, find and mine new shit underground including ancient evils, explore mazes and forests and swim in lakes and oceans, capture cities, make and negotiate treaties, alliances or you could do nothing of the sort and just go full-on warrior adventurer in search of gold and treasure in the nearest fortress or cave.   969. This was incredible online in its hey day. It mixed semi realism with 1-2 shot kills, massive maps to snipe duel with bullet drop, wind etc, but arcade like movements and weapon loadouts - you'd have a primary, secondary, pistol, grenades, at-4, knife.
  970. Did turn into Fn-mag dominance and eventually cheaters and shitty Novalogic killed the game.
  971. SP is fun with the worst AI ever...however it would've been hard as balls to beat if they were clever.

The number of skills got me interested but the graphics and dying a lot eventually turned me off. I think I ended up encountering a lot of enemies more powerful than me.   1127. Yeah there's a gambling abuse, you basically go to the bar, and spam the dice roll button just enough times for it to lock and spam itself to give you tons of gold on each roll. But be careful not to overdo it or the game crashes. Afterwards you get out of town, go to the right, reach the crossroads and go to the top castle/fortress, in it you can find 2 shops of overpowered items, which includes a wand rod of some sorts, it instagibs everything in teh first part of the game.

  1362. A very unusual rts with a relatively coplex economy system, and there's uh.. well there's weird shit everywhere, this screenshot is actually one of the few I could find where everything looks kind of ok, and I don't mean bad in a way that it looks horrendous, not at all, in fact the game has aged beautifully, I was referring to the various other races and their designs... you pretty much have to see for yourself to get it. The combat system is fucked beyond your control most of the time.. you have to be an elite rts player to even try to compete on the normal difficulty.

  1402. M&M6 is not really a hidden age. It is constantly recommended in threads like this or in most rpg recommendation threads.
  1403. M&M6 is a great game. Until you get Fly/Town Portal/ blasters .
  1404. Then you're becoming Destroyer of Worlds and shit's too easy.

  1412. Castle Colditz and Paris Burning. Man, those were awesome and thrilling. Also, Commandos 2 had one of the pretties looking background I've seen, rivaled only by IWD series.

  1446. Anyone played Urban Assault? It was sort of like an RTS - Vehicle Combat hybrid. You built units and competed for resources but there was no upkeep. Units had no abilities per se, the game did not require micromanaging. You could "jump in" and directly control one unit.

  1448. I used to jump in a plane and go off on solo resource-destroying runs, when I got shot down, I would build new units. Once I had annihilated all the power stations, I would command my tanks to pound down the enemy base while I (in my plane of course) took down the final structure. Those were the days.
