  1. “Honestly Phantasma, what were you thinking?”
  2.
  3. Miss Grimwood shook her head, frowning with measured disappointment. Before her stood one of her prized charm school students, except that it was actually TWO of her prized charm school students.
  4.
  5. “Well sheesh Miss Grimwood, I was just trying to follow your advice!” Phantasma Phantom said through Sibella’s lips, the comely vampire student whose body she currently inhabited. Phantasma folded her arms defiantly, only to be frustrated by the obstacle of Sibella’s larger bust getting in the way. “Uhg, how does she manage these things…”
  6.
  7. “This is what you thought I meant? I said if you wanted to approach that boy you like that you should work on beautifying yourself. On your SELF Phantasma, not hijackinging Sibella.”
  8.
  9. “I did try that!” Phantasma insisted, following behind Grimwood as the teacher paced across the floor of her office. The room had more trappings of a witch’s laboratory actually, the shelves stuffed with occult grimoires and cursed curios. Phantasma’s steps were uneven and awkward, unused not only to walking on flesh and blood legs but also on Sibella’s customarily high-heeled boots. The only thing keeping Phantasma from tripping over herself every few feet was the vampire’s natural grace. One of the many traits Phantasma had found herself envious of. “I tried all kinds of different outfits and hairdos, and some of them were really cute! But every time I thought I had something, I’d bring it out to show the other girls and…”
  10.
  11. “My dear, it’s perfectly normal for a ghoul your age to have some self-image issues,” Miss Grimwood offered her sympathy, taking the rare opportunity to place a comforting hand on Phantasma’s shoulder. “Why don’t you slip out of Sibella and I’d be happy to help you find a look you can feel more confident in.”
  12.
  13. “Yeah, about that…” Phantasma winced and forced a smile. “I’d never tried possessing a vampire before, and I’m kinda… stuck.”
  14.
  15. Miss Grimwood pinched the bridge of her nose. She was supposed to finish ordering school supplies and take Matches to the herpetologist today. “Can I talk to Sibella please?”
  16.
  17. “She’s definitely in here somewhere,” Phantasma said, looking down at her new body as if Sibella’s consciousness was hidden in one of the limbs or organs. “I can hear her voice in the back of my head sometimes.”
  18.
  19. “What is she saying?” Grimwood asked.
  20.
  21. “She’s mostly making puns,” Phantasma giggled. “Some of them are pretty good too! Hee hehehee!”
  22.
  23. “Sibella!” Miss Grimwood said loudly, taking Phantasma by her pointed ear to speak directly into it. “Sibella dear, I’m going to straighten this out. If you could give Phantasma a big mental ‘push’ though, it would help expedite this whole fiasco.”
  24.
  25. Phantasma snapped straight when Miss Grimwood released her ear, her eyes bugging and her lip quivering. Something was happening!
  26.
  27. “Euuhh… woah… Hnnggg~!”
  28.
  29. Phantasma went pale, she steadied herself with a hand on one of the many dusty bookshelves lining the walls, and her chest heaved. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but no sound came out.
  30.
  31. “Buuuurp!”
  32.
  33. Phantasma immediately felt relieved, but flinched in embarrassment from her crude noise. “Sorry,” she apologized meekly from behind her hands. Smacking her lips a little at the aftertaste, she commented to her hostess, “Yuck! Sibella your mouth tastes like a butcher’s shop.”
  34.
  35. Miss Grimwood heaved a sigh, accepting finally that her plans for the day would all have to be postponed. “Very well, I suppose there’s nothing to it but to prepare an exorcism.” She pulled a thick book from the wall and began assembling materials for a spell on her desk.
  36.
  37. “Oh, please don’t Miss Grimwood!” Phantasma wailed. “An exorcism will banish me from the material plane until the next new moon! I’ll completely miss my chance to ask a boy to the dance!”
  38.
  39. “You should have thought of that before you crammed yourself into your unsuspecting classmate!” Grimwood chided as she measured out sanctified salt and herbs to be burned. “You’re welcome to remove your corpus from Miss Dracula’s form and save me the trouble of course. You’ve got until midnight to figure it out or I’m pulling you out of there myself!”
  40.
  41. Phantasma retreated quickly from Miss Grimwood’s office, leaving the teacher to prepare the exorcism ritual in peace. Hurrying through the twisting halls of the finishing school she tried to figure out her next move.
  42.
  43. “Okay, okay, I’ve got Sibella’s body and good looks for the rest of the day. I’ve gotta make the most of them before I get booted to limbo.” Phantasma had paced all the way to the front entrance of the school and paused, taking a look at one of the wall-hanging mirrors in the front lobby.
  44.
  45. Oddly, she saw Sibella’s reflection in it.
  46.
  47. “Hey, there’s still time,” Sibella spoke from within the mirror. The image of her vampire friend was hazy and seemed to reach past the confines of the mirror at times. Phantasma was pretty sure this was some sort of hallucination, the sort of thing that went hand in hand with two people sharing a brain, but seeing her friend made her smile even still. “Just listen to my advice and we’ll get a date with that boy you’re crushing on by sundown.”
  48.
  49. “Thanks Sibella!” Phantasma chirped.
  50.
  51. “Only... Phanty?”
  52.
  53. “Yes Sibella?” Phantasma asked, leaning in closer to the mirror. Sibella’s ghostly hands reached forwards and grabbed two big hunks of Phantasma’s hair, pulling her nose against the reflective surface.
  54.
  55. “Never hijack my body again! Or so help me I’ll dig up your grave and have your bones reburied in Antarctica, you got that?”
  56.
  57. “Ulp! Got it!”
  58.
  59. Sibella released the quaking Phantom and sank back into the mirror image. “Alright then, just so we’re clear. Now, tell me about this boy you’re hot for…”
