but GOSH im also thinking about dib with the hanahakis
and hes in such denial about the source, because hed never be in love with zim, he HATES zim and theyre ENEMIES
so he keeps sucking it up and hiding it until its too serious to hide...
hope zim starts getting concerned when dib spits up flowers and is in poor health....
and then it gets so serious, professor membrane starts considering taking drastic measures to save his sons life....
because a dib without the ability to love/memories of the person he loved/memories at all/whatever the fuck we want to happen when hanahaki is removed, is better than a dead dib...

zim is so upset that a) dib is in love with someone (and why is that so upsetting to zim?? he doesnt understand) and b) that its not returned?? normally hed laugh at such a concept for dib being pathetic but for some reason its upsetting him and c) ITS KILLING HIM??? HOW DARE THEY???
i hope, when membrane comes forward with the decision to save dib from the disease, at first, zim is pleased, because then dib will be fine!... but then he finds out the side effect, and zim thinks its horrible
dib probably never being able to love again... (logic tells zim that that should be good, because then dib cant get sick like this again if he falls in love with someone who doesnt return it again)
and/or dib losing his memory... that sounds horrible! what would become of his dib?? what about zim???
if its just the memory of the person he loved, then i hope zim found out dib loves him, because now on top of being utterly floored by the revelation that dib??? loves him???? hes got the guilt that its killing dib....but if dib loses his memory of zim.....that sounds horrible? even if he becomes involved in dibs life all over again, its not the same?????
but if its dib gonna lose his whole memory.... insert debate about if that in itself is, in a way, the death of dib, while someone new comes to occupy the body that once belonged to the previous dib

oh...alana....i hope....when dib refuses, because zim you have to understand hes cant stop you if hes dead either, hes dying, and when hes this :ok_hand: close to being taken to have the disease removed, thinking it wont matter either way but wanting to get it off his chest before its gone, he tells zim that he loved him......

past tense, of course, because hes not gonna be able to love zim after this, and he wont remember......

i am so here tho for dib confessing his love to zim in past tense tho

everyone feels really weird about the apparently only endings to this being dead dib or amnesiac dib
even if you cant stand dib as he was, its just kinda fucky to have a dib wiped clean of everything that made him who he was
lo and behold, dib is back to school the next skoolday after he was either supposed to die or lose himself, and hes back to normal! but also he and zim are being gross and shmoopy
