  1. "Your absence was noted while Adrian and I carried the weight of Levengard. If you cared, you would have been here and not in Gehenna, not in Huangzhou. It was Adrian and Lea who stepped up to carry Thera's burdens with me. Not you." Cal said over his shoulder. While Ilui wasn't showing any signs of resentment, Calael was definitely angry. The demiangel's hatred for Agartha was obvious.
  2.
  3. This land had pushed him to a point where he no longer wished to deal with its people.
  4.
  5. "You are a cruel person. You always have been. I tried to teach compassion to the uncompassionate. I tried to teach mercy to the merciless. You have always been a killer, Ilui. But killers are only useful for one thing. And yet we gave you a home. We gave you a family, a place to stay."
  6.
  7. "These people are not changing our laws, they are running from the same enemy we've always had. Ultovex. But what does it matter. They're sure to be running from you as well anyway, hm?"
  8. (Calael E. Kang)
  9.
  10. This might be the most unfitting moment to approach.
  11.
  12. But Keitaro simply can't wait. He doesn't have all the time in the world to stall himself and await while the woes of others are resolved- besides, the Elishevan family business shouldn't be any of his own, much like Levengard as a whole. Instead, he's here for business.
  13.
  14. "...Calael."
  15.
  16. It's a bit awkward to make approach in the scenery like this, but the Shaman hoped he could at least have his answer; needless to say, while he had certain opinions on such matters, he didn't voice them. These were buried in the past.
  17.
  18. "I was looking to ask you about purification of particular teleportation crystal. Of all people on Agartha, you're greatest specialist in that regard, so I figured I'd ask you."
  19.
  20. "This is to create an easy access to myriad Spirit Realms, regardless of their type and location. I could explain more, provided you're interested, but if not-"
  21.
  22. "Well, I just need this purged of any malignant energies. That's all."
  23.
  24. With that, the Shaman patiently awaited. Here's hoping he didn't catch Calael in a moment that would prompt outburst.
  25. (Keitaro)
  26.
  27. "You're right, I'm only good at one thing. And that's why I'm going to do it, hm?"
  28.
  29. After some time, he expected something like this. A long time ago he was once told that there will come a time when they no longer had any use for him. And when that time came, they'd cast him aside. And yet, he tried to remain; wanting to repay the debt that was once owed.
  30.
  31. At first, it seems like he's going to lash out. A bit of anger surfacing onto his features, his fist clenching tightly against the back of the bench. But, he steadies himself as the other arrived. Trying to keep his cool.
  32.
  33. "Seems like you're needed, we'll talk later if you like."
  34.
  35. Yet, despite his calm demeanor; there's something within those pink eyes of his as he glared at the back of his Uncle's head. Something mean, and nasty. A look that can only be described as a death stare.
  36. (Ilui Elisheva)
  37.
  38. "There's nothing more to say, Ilui. Adrian and Lea will be leading Levengard soon. Adrian and Lea will decide the fates of Aurum's citizens. I gave up trying to teach your generation when you all became the things I once fought against. Unless you'd like to discuss life, your wife, things we can relate on, things that families talk about, then I'd prefer you left me be."
  39.
  40. "I can't change what you've always wanted to be." The Oracle turned to Keitaro. "I can see to it's purifications. I have a broken one I need to repair anyway... if you'd like to leave it with me, I'll work on it." The demiangel's wings fluttered lightly on his back as he gave Keitaro a nod. He seemed unphased to the fact that the Shaman had arrived in the midst of what might have been an argument.
  41.
  42. "I'll send word when it's completed."
  43. (Calael E. Kang)
  44.
  45. It's part of the reasons he isn't here anymore.
  46.
  47. He can't help but glance between Ilui and Calael, wondering just what went wrong this time. Though, the further Wisdom Virtue speaks, the more he realizes; it almost gives him a throwback to much younger years in Academy, when him and the Dryad were just children - when he tried to speak to Ilui about it all, but.. then, he allowed his own frustrations to get the best of him.
  48.
  49. That was when he decided he'll be leaving.
  50.
  51. That train of thoughts causes him to have a pause when he glances between the two- the look in Shaman's eyes almost betraying that there's clearly something on his mind, until he finally turns to Calael entirely and devotes all of his attention to him.
  52.
  53. "I believe the energies consecrate those related to Chaos, and perhaps a hint of Occult." Maybe it should direct for Calael better as to what exactly the problem seems to be? Though.. he was certain he didn't need Keitaro's input anyway. The Virtue dealt with corruption his entire life.
  54.
  55. "It shouldn't take long to purify that, and-"
  56.
  57. ""- with all due respect, you're a busy man, and this is probably my luck that I encountered you here. That crystal will also have Wayfinding runework upon it, as well as other things; if possible, I would like to purify it now and have it back in my possession."
  58.
  59. "All because there's still much to do after purification process, and, well... if it stays with you, I might have trouble reaching you out later."
  60.
  61. He hoped that Calael would understand. It isn't meant to say that he's at fault anywhere at all.. no, of course not. It's the lifestyle struggles, really.
  62.
  63. "Unless you were going to do something at the moment? If so, I could visit later, I suppose."
  64. (Keitaro)
  65.
  66.
  67. Calael E. Kang says, "Mm... we can see to it now."
  68.
  69. Calael E. Kang says, "This way, I believe we can try to rid it of its Chaos via the Lighthouse's beam."
  70.
  71. Keitaro says, "Sure. I'll follow you then."
  72.
  73. Calael E. Kang says, "Let me see it."
  74.
  75. When Calael requests it, the Shaman extends the crystal out to him; even now, it seems to have a clear hint of Illyothan energies about it, consecrating the vibe of Chaos and Occult alike. Through this corruption, it appears clearly vile in its nature, perhaps even dangerous. And to make it worse, it doesn't look very reliable.
  76.
  77. Almost like it can disappear any moment.
  78.
  79. More than likely, it's due to this corruption, or so Shaman believed. Surely, even after it's purified, he would need to work more with it. Carefully tune it, so that the device he holds would be much more reliable. Until then.. you can't trust such task as travel to any Spirit Realm to a crystal that Archons toyed with, can you?
  80.
  81. "Here."
  82.
  83. "I figured purification would be a good start to it. Runes could always be twisted oraltered through this influence, and I'd rather get rid of it first."
  84.
  85. Patiently awaiting Calael's own commentary and verdict, Keitaro watched. Maybe there's more to it he didn't realize too.
  86. (Keitaro)
  87.
  88. Cal lead Keitaro to the second floor of the Lighthouse where he pulled a lever to the side. From a skylight up above, a mechanical arm descended, one that held the revolving telescope that was the Lighthouse's beacon. He quickly locked it in place with a flip of a switch on the side and aligned it with a small table that held the teleportation crystal Keitaro had brought.
  89.
  90. "I'll filter out the occultism and chaos with this cosmic magic, from there it'll be up to you." The mirrors aligning the room were filled with smoke and fog, drifting lightly through the glass, giving the Shaman a feeling of the Spirit Realm.
  91.
  92. "Stand- back..." Calael gestured for Keitaro to move aside for a moment and with a flick of the last two switches, he focused a steadied beam down into the piece. It flowed outward and inward, drifting through encasement in order to replace the evil energies inside. With a glow to his hands, the Oracle trickled in what exorcist magic he could, ensuring this thing could be turned into a benevolent relic, or at the very least, one that was neutralized and easier to use.
  93.
  94. It took a few minutes, but after it was completed, the thing no longer looked as dark and vile as it was.
  95.
  96. "There. Try that out. If it needs more modifications... then come to me."
  97. (Calael E. Kang)
  98.
  99. A worthy construction no doubt.
  100.
  101. While Keitaro's own focus lied somewhere else, he couldn't help but admire the work such as this; it would be something to last, no doubt, and even after they would all long pass on, it's something that will remain. A testament to his own work and contribution to a better Agartha as a whole - and partially, the Shaman dreamed of something similar.
  102.
  103. A dream where people can access Spirit Realms safely and without as much restraint. A dream in which they can learn from the spirits and learn how to co-exist with them better; it wasn't just about calming the dead anymore, but bringing about the balance between two worlds. Besides... wouldn't it be something grand, to eventually 'tame' even the vilest of places, such as Helheim?
  104.
  105. "That's what I needed, and thank you." A brief observationlasts, where he looks at each and every mirror that aligns inside the room, filled with smoke and fog. Something is very familiar with this...
  106.
  107. "Very well." But it was a distant dream for now. When he's told to stand back, he obliges; the beam that was directed down to the crystal was carefully observed, almost with a studious glare. After all, Keitaro worked with malignant spirits quite often too - and it would be most useful to know more efficient ways of how to replace their woes and pain. Of how to deal with spirits similar to Synmael.
  108.
  109. Because it hurt to be burned with Death Magic. It hurt to be put near-death, and he was sure there are better ways to deal with such things than to throw himself in deadly danger each time to defeat the corruption this great. Perhaps, a purified crystal would be a step to that - when he can take more people with him, and thus make his work all more effective. But anyway...
  110.
  111. When the work is finished, he steps closer. The touch is careful, almost unsure whether he's supposed to take it- only when Calael confirms to Keitaro that he should try it out, he lifts it with his hand, inspecting it closer. By all means, the Shaman was fairly sensitive to such energies, but... he felt none. At least, nothing that would be threatening.
  112.
  113. "I appreciate this." A steady smile forms over his features. With the pause that lingers, he carefully tucks the crystal away. There's much work to be done, but he's step closer now.
  114.
  115. "I do need Wayfinder or Wayfinding runes now, but I suppose I'll ask Magdalen about it."
  116.
  117. "Unless you have access to these runes as well. I suppose a parchment or text would do, just to lay them upon structure."
  118. (Keitaro)
  119.
  120. Calael E. Kang says, "Mm... I do not, unfortunately. But Magdalen would be certainly helpful in that regards."
  121.
  122.
  123. Keitaro says, "Of course. I'll ask her about it later on, in that case."
  124.
  125. Calael E. Kang asks, "Is there anything else I can help with?"
  126.
  127. Keitaro says, "Not at the moment, no. I'll be taking my leave."
  128.
  129. Keitaro says, "And thanks again."
