- A broken thread is a thread that has no Google+ link. Ever since the retarded notifications update a few months back, random threads have been breaking. Meaning, from the Google+ notifications page, clicking on a notification for said broken thread will result in you being taken to the Google+ home page instead of the thread you were supposed to be taken to. At which point, the only way to find the thread is by recognizing the video from the thumbnail/context, or if a +1 notification, looking for the comment of yours in your comment history (youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history). I'll get to why I have to do that in the next paragraph.
- At first, I could just find a thread via the youtube notification bell, buried under a bunch of other bullshit that can't be turned off. But ever since YouTube made the GENIUS decision of facebooking the notifications (making the number show in the tab title), I got fed up with it and turned them off. When you only have 1/4 of an inch of space for text to show, a big obnoxious "(XX)" prepending the title is NOT OKAY. I don't give a shit about how many notifications I have. And I sure as hell don't need that bullshit on every single tab. The fact that the numbers can't be turned off is just bafflingly stupid.
- Anyways, that's why I made Broken Thread Archive. Because YouTube is, without a doubt, the buggiest and most user-unfriendly website on the entire planet.
