  1. So, I'm going to start with the how this works, so people who are just interested in what exactly this means for release schedule don't have to read through a bunch of extraneous stuff:
  2.
  3. Each series will go two weeks with a chapter and then one without, and the two will be staggered. This means we'll be seeing one week with just The New Chimera, one week with both, one week with just The Outlands, one week with both, and then back to one week with just The New Chimera.
  4.
  5. There will be a break this week, and then next week will be the start of the new "normal rotation", with just The New Chimera. I might have to take another break the week after for the fourth of July, since now that we're vaccinated, I'll be out of state visiting family for the first time since Covid. We'll see how things are then, though.
  6.
  7. That's the 'how', though, so here's the 'why':
  8.
  9. Basically, I just put too much on my plate. The much-delayed D&D campaign that I'm DMing for has finally started up again now that we're all vaccinated, and I've been putting more into work now that I'm out of school for the summer. Between those two things and writing two chapters a week, my stress levels have risen dramatically and my free time has been spent almost entirely writing for the past few weeks.
  10.
  11. Things really reached a head today when I sat down to start writing (with only 1/3 of each of the chapters done), and I just...couldn't get anything out. Nothing really worked, and I couldn't even...think of where to start
  12.
  13. And, as something I'm primarily doing as a hobby, if it's causing me stress like that then I need to take a step back and re-assess things. I've had to take more breaks these past couple of months than I'd like, and I really don't want to make a habit of that. I'm hoping that by doing this I'll cut back on the number of breaks I take overall, and make things much more enjoyable for me again.
  14.
  15. My hope is that, eventually, I'll be able to get back to one chapter a week for each. That likely won't be until at least the new year, though, as I've got my last semester of college ahead of me, and it promises to be a doozy. I basically had to take the two most difficult classes in my major (AI and compilers) at the same time or do a whole extra semester, so I'm gonna have a pretty intense workload then.
  16.
  17. I'm really sorry to be doing this, I know it's not exactly fair and it is something I wanted to avoid, but at this point it's looking like there's really no way around it.
  18.
  19. Oh, and if you were wondering, there are no changes to the 'release schedule' of Swarming Sovereignty. It's still coming out whenever I feel like getting a new chapter done. You can probably expect one over the next few days, it's a very nice low-stress thing to write, sort of the literary equivalent of doodling.
