- ANYWAY. You have all picked your starter Pokemon, so it's time to get onto phase 2
- Katherine:
- We didn't get our Pokedexes or starting supplies yet, did we?
- Professor Albion:
- Well that's pretty much what I was gonna say. Albion lifts himself off the ground, now laden with assorted items and supplies, "ANYWAY. You have all picked your starter Pokemon, so it's time to get onto phase 2."
- Teagan: (( a Pokeball bandolier of sorts is assumed to be part of your starting gear, right? ))
- Teagan: (( I hope we didn't have to spend money on that. ))
- Professor Albion: (( Poke ball belts are probably more common than regular belts ))
- Teagan: (( It's possible ))
- Teagan:
- "Phase 2 - right! What's next?" Teagan snaps to attention.
- Innsma:
- "Sure...l-lay it on me...d-daddy-o." Innsma turns around from the ghostly computer screen and lifts her raggedy-clothed self up from the seat.
- Katherine:
- "Oh my, phase 2? Please, go on." Katty says curiously, yet politely.
- Professor Albion:
- "Now, how many of you are prepared for a long journey? When I asked you to research these Delta Pokemon, I meant all across the Region. It will not be a short, idle trip. I have some necessities here that should last you well, but you cannot slack later on. Additionally...with those Pokemon, you are now Trainers. As such, I've prepared your Trainer Cards, and a Pokedex each. Don't lose these! Without a Pokedex, you cannot conduct official battles...to which Gym fights belong. Without a Trainer Card on top of a Pokedex, you can't register at Pokemon Centers or train stations, among other things. Speaking of which! You should report to the Pokedex in town once you leave."
- Teagan: (( Pokecenter, assumedly, and BEFORE you leave, it'd be silly to do so afterwards ))
- Teagan: (( What's in the basic supplies again? ))
- Innsma: (( odd question, but where exactly on the timeline does this game take place again ))
- Teagan: (( I guess I should ask that IC. ))
- Teagan:
- "Pokedex... trainer card... wow, we really are starting right here and now...!" Teagan works to contain her excitement. "What sort of supplies are these?" She takes a look while awaiting a response.
- Professor Albion: (( ...yes, pokemon center, not pokedex ))
- Professor Albion: (( lel ))
- Professor Albion: (( The game takes place a couple after generation 2/4 ))
- Katherine:
- "Thank you so much! It feels so nice to finally be a trainer now...!"
- Professor Albion: (( Probably around the same time as X/Y really ))
- Innsma:
- "Oh th-thank goodness. Th-though uh, j-just a Pokedex? N-not one of those new-aged C-Gears or P-PSSes? B-beggars can't be choosers I guess..." Innsma dusts off her coat.
- Professor Albion:
- "Some basic Poke Balls, a few items to help you in the field, and many things to keep you alive and well. Now, while a C-Gear is handy, a Pokedex is absolutely vital. You can't get around without it. The one I give you now is linked to the Ranger headquarters, ensuring they can find you if you happen to get lost and send out an SOS. Do try not to, however, as it may shine poorly on your reputation."
- Professor Albion: (( back, I keep getting reminded that I'm basically a father of three ))
- Professor Albion: (( 3 Bandages, 3 Pokeballs, 3 Potions, 1 Super Potion, 2 Full Heals, 1 First Aid Kit, Basic Rope, Lighter, 3 Field Rations ))
- Innsma:
- "B-bleh, who needs safety anyway. We can take whatever n-nature throws at us." Innsma is pretty fraill, doesn't really get out much, and is kind of scared, but doesn't try and make it too obvious in front of the professor. "I-I'll just take those, thankyaverymuch."
- Teagan:
- Teagan nods as she goes through the starter supplies. "Good, backups never hurt..."
- Katherine:
- "Thank you very much professor! I'll do my best to help your research in Delta Pokemon and challenge the Pokemon gyms! This just sounds all so exciting!" Katty says with eagerness.
- Jondo:
- Jondo shakes his head at the girl next to him, "I wouldn't take this region lightly. Might be mild around here, but the further you go, the more dangerous it gets."
- Professor Albion:
- "Same goes for most anywhere, boy. You should be relatively safe until you reach my son...after that, I can't say. It's quite thick wilderness out there."
- Teagan:
- Teagan opens up the dex, hoping there's a map of the region included for easy reference.
- Professor Albion: (( Yep - the town map's built into it ))
- Teagan: (( Town, or region (waiting) ))
- Thrice:
- Well, Region, that's why it's called the Town Map of course
- Teagan: (( Might be nice if there's a compass built in, but if not, there's always ways around that ))
- Thrice:
- because it shows the Region, not the town
- Teagan: (( Don't pussyfoot around such a simple question (D0 ))
- Niall: (( I answered it - the town map always shows the whole region ))
- Teagan: (( damn Pokemon tropes ))
- Niall: (( It's USELESS, but even still, that's what it does ))
- Niall:
- The big, yet mostly quiet till now, man in the leather jacket pipes up, "Mind if I chip in, Professor? Good. There are...what eight of you guys? Stick pretty close to that number. Don't go out alone. Ya should at least keep one or two of these guys right next to ya. Two groups of four'd be best."
- Innsma:
- "Oh I'm definitely g-gonna take your word for it....but I've dealt with m-much worse...like evil s-spirits...and h-hairdressers, as you can see."
- Professor Albion:
- "Mm...he's not wrong. After all, to study or capture many of these Pokemon, you'll need to fight them, and potentially others of their kind. It wouldn't do to be outnumbered."
- Teagan:
- "Of course, Commander Niall, Sir!" Teagan starts scanning the room for suitable teammates, but not before she hefts Caspian off of the table. "Alright, little guy, let's go make some friends!"
- Kelli:
- Kelli, for her part, immediately looks over to Vassago and Teodor. "Stick together! That's just peachy! We'll be fine, right, you guys?"
- Katherine: (( I have complete control of my Vulpix now, right? ))
- Caspian: (( Is Togepi really... "small"? ))
- Innsma:
- "Kekekeh, this strong-armed f-fellow here should take out a-all I need anyway. Its spirit is worth at least that of 4 Raticate spirits! O-or just one h-human spirit..."
- Caspian: (( Seems like it'd be tiny for sure ))
- Teodor:
- Teo...doesn't seem so thrilled about the prospect. "Oh, god..."
- Teodor: (( There is no Tiny ))
- Caspian: (( not even for Sunkern? ))
- Teodor: (( And yes you have control of it ))
- Teodor: (( don't you mean Joltik ))
- Caspian: (( I meant Sunkern, but sure. ))
- Teodor: (( Sunkern isn't even that small ))
- Caspian: (( Coulda sworn it was an inch. ))
- Katherine:
- *nicknames it really quick*
- Teodor: (( It's 1 FOOT ))
- Teodor: (( Joltik is four inches ))
- Caspian: (( JESUS THAT'S A TALL SUNFLOWER SEED. ))
- Teodor: (( Also, make them players @Tirk/Twilt ))
- Katherine: (( done ))
- Katherine:
- "Of course it'd be quite foolish to go out on your own. Come Yukiko, lets begin our journey together." Katherine says, making a ^_^ face to her new partner.
- Black Moon:
- "....!....?....." Black Moon follows his new master's lead.
- Caspian:
- The Togepi wriggles its arms and legs upon being picked up, eager that someone chose it. "Prrree!"
- Vassago:
- Vassago, on the other hand, clasps his hands, "Of course! I can't turn down someone begging for my company! Um...just please, let me lead the way? Wouldn't want us getting lost..."
- Black Moon:
- I have no idea how yamask sound like
- Vassago:
- DELELELEWHOOP
- Yukiko:
- "Vulpix! Vul!" Vulpix happily jumps off the shelf, and onto Katherine's arms.
- Vassago:
- but no I have no idea, you can check the anime, or just use human-ish sounds
- Caspian: (( That's Kricketune (D) ))
- Vassago:
- Since it's basically a human face
- Vassago: (( mummy-like moans seems a good bet ))
- Katherine:
- "Hehe, she's so cute!"
- Black Moon:
- All that's on youtube are some shitty creepypasta videos
- Caspian: (( Oh shit delelewhoop is an actual yhing ))
- Vassago: (( ...oh, there are NINE ))
- Vassago: (( why I thought there were eight, I don't know ))
- Caspian: (( Sanya was dancing in the shadows ))
- Vassago: (( but you're the dancer ))
- Vassago: (( sanya's just a gst ))
- Caspian: (( ha, oh wow ))
- Caspian: (( Our starter choices form a triangle ))
- Caspian: (( Fire beats Steel beats Rock beats Fire ))
- Innsma:
- "S-sure, getting lost kinda b-bites, don't you think? Especially getting lost out there...with no internet in sight!" Innsma shudders
- Black Moon:
- "....?" Black Moon has no idea what this 'internet' bullshit is
- Vassago: (( rock also resists fire, steel resists rock, and fire resists steel ))
- Vassago: (( I know what I'm doin m8 ))
- Caspian: (( indeed ))
- Vassago: (( though the ghosts throw it off some ))
- Teagan: (( aw fuk I have IC reason to not want to go with Innsma ))
- Teagan: (( gost ))
- Teagan: (( BOTH of you have ghosts (crs) ))
- Teagan: (( though it could be a curiousity I guess - anyway, we'll just change Niall's comment to three groups of three and nothing will change ))
- Vassago: (( pretty much ))
- Teagan:
- "Don't worry - you'll be too busy exploring the great outdoors to even THINK about the internet.
- Jondo:
- "I'm sure the internet'll be a real help when you're looking for coffin decor."
- Teagan:
- "In fact, if you're worried about getting lost, why don't we go together?" Teagan walks on over.
- Innsma:
- "Y-yeah, but I haven't finished my last chapter of...oh nevermind. G-good idea, nothing is better than hiding behind the backs of those stronger th- I mean, the b-bond between good friends!"
- Black Moon:
- ".....?" For some reason the word 'coffin' fills Black Moon with a strange feeling.
- Sal:
- Marsala looks to the three stragglers, "Ah, am I supposed to decide which of you will be going with me?"
- Teagan:
- As does being NEAR Black Moon, for Teagan, but she grits her teeth. "You just have to promise me that you'll do the talking if we come across any ghosts."
- Innsma:
- "I-I mean, that's what friends do, right? I-I have little experience in this field..." Innsma nervously pushes her fingers together. "I've spent far too mu-much of my life doing j-just that. H-here, I'll see wh-what my newest old age friend is saying...."
- Black Moon:
- "...."
- Sanya:
- Sanya is holding Yvana and petting her ala Dr. Evil while looking between Sal, Jondo, and Katherine, as if trying to determine which will bother her the least.
- Innsma:
- "Yeah well you're no prize either lady." Innsma says in a booming, deep voice. "H-huh, I wonder wh-what that's supposed to m-mean...."
- Teagan:
- "...I don't know either. Hmm." She starts to hold Caspian out at arms' length before being reminded of how HEAVY he is. "Oof... well, what do you think, lil' guy?"
- Caspian:
- As a baby, he can't do much more than look between both concerned parties, smile, and say "Prrrrreee!"
- Black Moon:
- "...."
- Teagan:
- "Well? How's that for an explanation?"
- Innsma:
- "O-oh! Now he's saying..." Innsma clears her throat and switches back to the booming baritone. "I thought they were supposed to keep children and women in the-" Innsma cuts herself off "O-oh, I'm very sorry. This soul is clearly a v-very old fashioned one..."
- Katherine:
- "Oh been meaning to ask anyone. Since we all just received our first Pokemon, would any of you be interested in a battle? Not for money or anything, just a friendly spar!"
- Professor Albion:
- "Ah, outside, please!"
- Teagan:
- "Is that right... ooh, it looks like the fun's just about to start. Do you want to come watch?"
- Vassago:
- "Well, I'd be happy to, of course! But outside, yes. More room out there!"
- Innsma:
- Innsma angrily tugs at an annoyed-looking Black Moon, tucking haflway back into his mask. "S-sure thing. I'll just have to s-sit tight and uh...see how it's d-done."
- Innsma:
- "I'm n-new to this whole battling thing, you see, never really caught m-my attention. L-let's go..." Innsma walks out of the Pokecenter with Yamasks' mask in hand.
- Innsma:
- *lab
- Katherine:
- "Well then, lets go!" Katherine says, heading outside.
- Kelli:
- "Argh...Vassago beat me to the punch..."
- Kelli: (( Just move to Beaufort City map ))
- Teodor:
- "This ought to be entertaining. I wonder how this idiot battles?"
- Teagan: (( Probably would've been better where you were, really ))
- Vassago:
- "Er..we can't do this if we;re right nex to each other. I don't want to get burned!"
- Katherine:
- "Ah, my bad. This is my first time battling. Hope you'll go easy on me.~" Katherine says innocently yet deceivingly.
- Vassago:
- "Vassago waves his hand dismissively, "Oh, well, given I learned everything I know from Dechtire...no, I probably won't go easy on you. Sylvia! Make it flashy!"
- Teagan:
- "Better get that Pokedex ready, Innsma." Teagan sets Caspian down so she can use her own.
- Teagan:
- *
- Katherine:
- "Hehe, alright, I choose you, Yukiko!"
- Innsma:
- "R-right, uh...." Innsma fiddles around with the piece of equipment to see what does what. "Ah, scanner's right here! Bear with me, these dexes use some strange hardware..."
- Yukiko:
- "Vulpix!" The fox shouts as she leaps off her trainer's shoulder.
- Katherine: (( so I guess this is the tutorial I hope :V ))
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia is...not very fond of the attention, to say the least, and waves her head back and forth while shaking. However, she doesn't look like she's going to let you walk all over her. And sure.
- Sylvia:
- Your Vulpix is faster than Sylvia
- Sylvia:
- So, to attack, roll a d20, and subtract the move's AC
- Sylvia:
- In this case, I'd suggest using Ember, so your roll would be 1d20-2
- Katherine:
- "Alright, guess I'll start things off! Use Ember!"
- Sylvia:
- If you match or beat the displayed Evasion(In this case, Special or Speed), then you hit, and should roll damage
- Yukiko:
- 16 *EMBERS*
- Sylvia:
- The damage is listed; it should say DB6: 2d6+8, you roll that plus your special attack stat
- Sylvia:
- And, that certainly is a hit
- Sylvia:
- And..it is also a Burn.
- Teagan: (( Is that with STAB factored in, then? ))
- Sylvia:
- Some moves have special factors, that happen if you roll high enough on the natural dc20
- Sylvia:
- You rolled at least an 18, sio Ember Burns its target
- Yukiko:
- 19 you gonna need some ice for that burn then
- Teagan: (( STAB seems to be factored in. ))
- Sylvia:
- It was yes
- Sylvia:
- You forgot to add your Special Attack
- Teagan:
- Right, TWILT - you need to add your Special Attack to that
- Teagan:
- You can do that by just typing SpAttack into the formula
- Sylvia:
- It's 11, anyhow
- Yukiko:
- Yukiko's Sp atk is 11
- Sylvia:
- So 30 total damage
- Yukiko:
- Hot damn
- Sylvia:
- Minus my Special Defense, of course
- Black Moon:
- What mystical buttons are you using for these formulas
- Teagan:
- Watch out for combat stages if you do type it in directly
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia took 20 damage.
- Teagan:
- There's a damage base chart up above, Tirk, for your convenience
- Sylvia: (( There are no formulas ))
- Katherine:
- "Ohhh, nice hit, Yuki!"
- Sylvia: (( The damage base is listed on the attack ))
- Sylvia: (( If it has STAB, then that's listed in parentheses ))
- Black Moon:
- Well I mean like, how you somehow roll the dice like that
- Sylvia: (( so DB4 1d8+6 (DB 6: 2d6+8) for Ember ))
- Black Moon:
- I assume either AP Usage or Damage
- Sylvia:
- Tooltips is on, so it compresses it
- Sylvia:
- if that's what you mean
- Teagan: (( if you mean Tooltips, the mouseover text, that's just a server setting ))
- Black Moon:
- how weird
- Vassago:
- "Hmm...not good. But you're tougher than that! And stronger, too. Sylvia, Thunderbolt!"
- Teagan: (( BOLT? GODDAMN ))
- Yukiko has received initiative.
- Sylvia:
- ...
- Sylvia:
- Shock*
- Sylvia:
- lel
- Katherine: (( (Beaker) ))
- Sylvia:
- 4 Vs Special(or Speed) Evasion!
- Sylvia:
- That is a hit, so
- Sylvia:
- 31
- Sylvia:
- Special, Electric-typed Damage
- Katherine:
- My Sp Def is 14
- Katherine:
- so...31-14?
- Sylvia:
- and then my turn ends - if you take a Standard Action while Burned, at the end of your turn, you lose 1/8th max HP
- Teagan: (( Using the Damage macro automatically factors in defenses ))
- Sylvia:
- You should have the Damage macro
- Teagan: (( but you can use Hurt/Heal if you want ))
- Katherine:
- Katherine took 24 damage.
- Yukiko:
- whoops lol
- Sylvia:
- Click it, type in the amount of damage, and adjust the effectiveness, and obv select whether it's physical/special
- Yukiko:
- Yukiko took 17 damage.
- Innsma:
- "Th-that Pokemon must also be part electric type, the thing...just as I predicted when it bolted off back there..."
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia loses 6 hit points.
- Sylvia:
- You DO need to use hurt/heal for passive things like burn and so on
- Katherine:
- "Ohh, not bad, but Yukiko and I are going to win this! Use Ember again!"
- Yukiko:
- [1d20-2
- Teagan:
- "It must be. They're both starting off pretty strong!"
- Yukiko:
- 4"Vuuulllpix!" *Fires*
- Kelli:
- "Come on, Vassago! You can't lose right off the bat!"
- Sylvia:
- That's a hit
- Yukiko:
- Soo just to be sure, I must have rolled really bad, with like a 3 or less in order for it to miss, right?
- Teagan: (( Pretty much. ))
- Sylvia:
- Yes, for now
- Yukiko:
- kk
- Teagan: (( Your d20 minus the AC has to be less than its evasions ))
- Teagan: (( So yeah, 3 or less atm ))
- Yukiko:
- 14
- Teagan: (( Don't forget to add special attack. ))
- Sylvia:
- Uh, you can add your Special Attack into the roll
- Sylvia:
- and doing so would bwe appreciated
- Sylvia:
- 25 I think?
- Yukiko:
- 25 Sorry, I'll remember next time
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia took 15 damage.
- Sylvia:
- Welp, this introduces something new.
- Sylvia:
- Whenever you take 50% or more of your max HP, or hit the 50%, 0%, -50%, or so on HP marker
- Sylvia:
- You gain an Injury
- Innsma:
- "S-such endurance...such vigor...Pokemon Battling looks intense."
- Sylvia:
- If you hit a marker AND lose 50+%, you gain 2 injuries; if you hit two markers and lose 50+%, you gain 3, and so on
- Black Moon:
- "...." Black Moon has seen better on the battlefield.
- Sylvia:
- For each Injury you have, your maximum HP decreases by 10%
- Sylvia:
- AND, you lose one combat stage in a random stat
- Sylvia:
- Since...I don't actually HAVE an injury randomizer that works for PTU
- Sylvia:
- For now, we'll just roll a d6
- Teagan: (( I'll write one, just give me 2 minutes or so ))
- Sylvia:
- 1 is Attakc, 2 is Defense, 3 is Special Attack, 4 is Special Defense, 5 is Speed, and 6 is Accuracy.
- Sylvia:
- If you roll Accuracy, giveu p.
- Sylvia:
- 1
- Yukiko:
- I roll too?
- Sylvia:
- Er no, not yet
- Sylvia:
- If you gain an Injury, you do
- Yukiko:
- Ah kk
- Sylvia:
- There are a lot of States here
- Sylvia:
- remember to use them
- Error in body of roll. Statement options (if any): Statement Body : listGet(statLost, statList)
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia's arms are blackened by the fire! She won't be able to attack very well...but she's not too hurt by that.
- Vassago:
- "Gh..All right. Electricity's not so hot! Confusion! Psychic's the best Type there is!"
- Special Defense
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia's ears open up, unleashing a wave of psionic energy toward the Vulpix! -1
- Sylvia:
- Or rather, toward the pavement.
- Teagan loses a stage of Defense.
- Teagan loses a stage of Speed.
- Teagan:
- Teagan loses a stage of Special Defense.
- Yukiko has received initiative.
- Yukiko has received initiative.
- Innsma:
- "Keh...this m-must be confusion, right? That's one m-move I've brushed up on my s-studies for at least."
- Sylvia:
- Andsince I'm burned
- Katherine:
- "Hehe, missed her! Gotta do better than that~!"
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia loses 6 hit points.
- DB charts:
- Added a Random Stat Loss macro to this guy here.
- Sylvia:
- Also, something you've likely not noticed
- Innsma:
- "H-had it hit, that V-vulpix would have been in a load of annoying t-trouble. It's nothing to f-fool around with."
- Sylvia:
- Your Vulpix has an Ability called Heat Mirage
- Sylvia:
- Whenever you use a Fire-type Attack, its Evasions increase by 3
- Sylvia:
- I'll just be adding a -3 penalty to accuracy rolls, I guess
- Katherine:
- Neato
- Teagan:
- "Good thing it didn't, then..." Teagan clenches her fist, the end of the fight is close!
- Katherine:
- Kind of want to try Quick Attack r
- Sylvia:
- Also, no, it doesn't stack, and it only lasts till her next turn
- Innsma:
- *squeezes brow* I just confused confusion with confused ray, oh the irony, but I guess it still kinda pans out.
- Vassago: (( lel ))
- Katherine:
- "Alright, lets wrap this up quickly with a, er, Quick Attack!"
- Sylvia:
- For Quick Attack, of course, you add your Attack stat
- Yukiko:
- 1 *SWIFTLY DASHES*
- Yukiko:
- >:
- Teagan: (( sorry m8 ))
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia dodges out of the way! You can use Speed Evasion for anything, and since it's higher, she's gonna do that.
- Vassago:
- "You...aren't gonna last any longer than this, are you? Confusion one last time!"
- Teagan: (( Quick Attack requires you to be next to your opponent, doesn't it? ))
- Sylvia: (( It does, yes ))
- Teagan: (( or well, move TO them ))
- Sylvia: (( So you should move next to Sylvia ))
- Teagan: (( Doesn't really matter so much here, but movement will certainly be important ))
- Sylvia: (( Also note that Quick Attack has Priority, meaning, if you haven't attacked this round yet, you can declare it during someone else's turn ))
- Sylvia: (( Also...what the shit is up with the Vulpix's placement ))
- Sylvia: (( Snap to Grid is on ))
- Teagan: (( I dunno, not really important ))
- Sylvia:
- 16 It's more important than your life
- Sylvia:
- That;s a hit, though it does not confuse
- Yukiko:
- praise the lord
- Teagan: (( There is no lord here, only dice ))
- Sylvia:
- 29 Trust me, it wouldn't matter unless it was a crit
- Sylvia:
- Special, Psychic
- Yukiko:
- Yukiko took 15 damage.
- Sylvia:
- Now then - she takes an Injury, which I'll roll
- Sylvia:
- 5
- Sylvia:
- Speed
- Sylvia:
- So, your Speed is lowered by 1 Combat Stage
- Sylvia:
- Which, in this system, is .125%
- Sylvia:
- So just multiply the base stat by .875
- Sylvia:
- because math
- Teagan:
- I'll be working on some macros to automate combat stages
- Yukiko:
- Sooo I got a 13 in speed
- Sylvia:
- 11.375
- Sylvia:
- That'd mean it's now 11
- Sylvia:
- Yo uALWAYS round down
- Sylvia:
- Even if the number comes out to 11.99999999999999999999999
- Yukiko:
- >:
- Sylvia:
- However, it doesn;'t matter much in this case, because
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia loses 6 hit points.
- Yukiko:
- Am I still faster?
- Yukiko:
- Orrrrrr that'll do
- Sylvia:
- You would not be in this case
- Sylvia:
- Also - Do you have teh Initiative window open?
- Katherine:
- Yeah
- Katherine:
- Ahhhh I see
- Sylvia:
- Whenever your Init changes, right click the token
- Katherine:
- 13 in speed, but it doesn't matter anyway in the end
- Sylvia:
- Click "Set Initiative"
- Sylvia:
- And then input the new init
- Katherine:
- Ah, kay got it
- Sylvia:
- Sylvia falls to the ground, burned out and sparking.
- Yukiko:
- Do I get EXP
- Innsma:
- "B-bravo, you! Th-that was almost too intense for me to h-handle..." Innsma closes her Pokedex.
- Sylvia:
- Yeah hold on
- Katherine:
- Either way, Katherine cheers. "Yes, I did it! Won my first battle! ^_^" Doing a similar "YATA!" victory pose like Chun-Li does.
- Yukiko:
- "Vulpix!" Vulpix cheers, as she jumps onto her trainer's arms for a hug.
- Vassago:
- Vassago grabs his hair and tilts his head back, "Gah.... You're kidding me! I lost to that?! Erk..I guess all the greats have to lose sometime...At least I looked good doing it!"
- Teodor:
- "You keep telling yourself that."
- Teagan:
- "I think the Vulpix lost some style points for missing its last attack..." Teagan mumbles to herself. "But the important thing is that she won in the end! There's no telling how a battle will go."
- Thrice:
- Since this WAS a Rival Battle, but was...well, also a Tutorial Battle, I'll make the Significance Multiplier x2
- Thrice:
- So, your Vulpix gains 20 Experience
- Katherine:
- "Thank you for battling me. Was my first time, and it was fun fight." Katherine says politely.
- Yukiko:
- so wait
- Yukiko:
- Since I'm at 90 EXP now, and I need 110, I level up right?
- Teagan:
- yep
- Jondo:
- Yes
- Innsma:
- "N-not like it matters...those burns were spelling it's doom the moment th-they showed up...keh heh..."
- Yukiko:
- "Vulpix!" She says happily.
- Vassago:
- "If only she hadn't missed the first time... Well, no matter. You two!" He points to the people directly behind him, "We're going to the Center!"
- Vassago: (( also, when you take an Injury, set your State to "1 Injury" ))
- Vassago: (( Though you may as well not bother ATM ))
- Vassago: (( Since the Center is like right there ))
- Kelli:
- "The Center...right, right." She turns around, then flips back, "Uh...Where is the Center?"
- Teagan:
- "It's that building right there, with the orange and yellow curtain!" "We should probably head there too, now that we have our Pokedexes."
- Katherine:
- "Right of course. Poor Yukiko is worn out as well, so I'd like to heal her as soon as possible."
- Innsma:
- "S-sure thing. The sun is awful b-bright out anyway."
- Teodor:
- "That...that is not a curtain. That's an awning..."
- Teodor:
- "Nonetheless, yes, that is the Pokemon Center."
- Teagan:
- "Oh, you know what I meant! Now let's go check in."
- Teodor: (( Now I COULD place a Pokemon Center map but it'd take a ton of finagling to get it the right size ))
- Teodor: (( so we're using our imagination ))
- Teagan: (( Fuck maps, who needs em ))
- Jackie:
- The woman at the counter turns to Teagan when she walks in, "Oh, you're back! And you brought...a lot of people. Wow. This place hasn't been so packed in a while!"
- Jackie: (( don't bother moving your tokens, honestly ))
- Jackie: (( tain't no point ))
- Innsma:
- TOO BAD I'M HERE ANYWAY
- Teagan: (( Give us some idea as to the scope of the center, at least ))
- Teagan: (( Assumedly it IS pretty damn packed ))
- Jackie: (( No, nine people just walked in. That's why it's packed. It's about average for a Pokemon Center - roughly the size of a decent convenience store. There are two others in the place. One is mostly minding her own business, while it seems like the other was chatting with Jackie. ))
- Innsma:
- Innsma fidgets around nervously. "G-gosh darn it, s-so many confined, p-populated places today, I think I'm gonna g-get sick already..."
- Teagan:
- "Yep, we're all checking in on our way out! Er..." Teagan notices Innsma's discomfort. "Do you want to wait outside until it's less crowded? I'll come with you."
- Jackie:
- "You're gonna have to come in here sometime, if you're a Trainer, girl. Gotta register and all that. I'd get used to crowds.
- Jackie:
- "
- Innsma:
- Innsma looks solemnly at her hand. "Heeh heeh. I-I'll try to live. I'm just v-very out of my element is all."
- Innsma:
- "S-still, I thank you for your offer. Now uh...wh-what was that about registering?"
- Jack:
- The guy who was talking to the nurse perks up at 'Trainer,' "Oooh, so Trainers are you? That's good! That's great! I was just on my way out, but if you want to stop by my shop later, feel free! It's always open." With that, he waves goodbye to Jackie, and pushes past the swarm of adolescents to leave the Center, "Scuse me, pardon me, gotta get through here! Wouldn't want to cause Jackie any more stress fillin' up the place like this."
- Teagan: (( Who the hell's an adolescent here ))
- Teagan: (( I guess I could see Innsma ))
- Innsma:
- I'm like 20
- Teagan: (( Then yeah ))
- Jack:
- mental stasis
- Jack:
- you're all kids in the mind
- Teagan: (( It's the Pokemon universe, if you're not, you're evil. ))
- Katherine:
- I'm a 19 year old, sexy nerd >:
- Thrice:
- You're of the Super Nerd trainer class
- Thrice:
- There aren't even any female Super Nerds
- Jackie:
- "Well, now he's gone...To register, just hand me your Pokedex or your Trainer Card. I'll log it in the computer, and then your Trainer ID'll be recorded and everything'll be just fine. Whenever you go to get a train ticket, they'll scan your ID, and what Centers you've registered at determines where you can go."
- Innsma:
- "Myeeeeehh..." Innsma would try to respond but the crowd has her a bit befuddled in the head, so she just scoots around. "S-sounds like a sound system to me. H-here, I take it I hand them to you like this...don't dirty them up." Innsma takes out her stuff
- Jackie:
- "Only need one, sweetheart. Long as it's got your official ID, it's all right."
- Katherine:
- "Ah, yes" Katherine prepares her Pokedex. "Also, my Vulpix, and Vassago's Espurr just battled, and both got injured in the fight, so if a checkup can be done as soon as possible, I'd greatly appreciate it."
- Vassago:
- "That should be the priority here..." Vassago returned Sylvia a while ago, and hands the ball off to the nurse after he makes his way to the front, "Make sure she's in tip-top shape!"
- Innsma:
- "S-sure..." Innsma hands her trainers card.
- Jackie:
- "Sure thing. It'll take around...hour and a half, judging from the shape these guys are in." Jackie talks while scanning the cards and putting the Balls in the machine, "So, just sit over there, and everything'll be all fixed in a jiffy."
- Teagan: (( Jeeeeeez we're doin this shit then (waiting) ))
- Teagan: (( Why are all these homebrew regions so far behind in the medicine department ))
- Jackie: (( they';re not ))
- Jackie: (( That's the default rule for ALL cetners in PTU ))
- Jackie: (( one hour + 30 minutes per Injury, or +1 hour per injury if it has 5 or more ))
- Teagan: (( jeez ))
- Katherine:
- "Alright, thank you so much!"
- Innsma:
- "Eeeeh....hour and a half, th-then?" The medium rubs her elbows. It might take a while for her to get used to these populous places.
- Jackie:
- "Now if ya want, you can take a tour around the city, or you can sit here and talk. Before you leave, I suggest you go an' see my husband - that guy who just left. He runs the mart up north of town. I don't know if you have any money, but it might be nice to see waht he's got anyway."
- Teagan:
- "We can do the registration in the meantime, right?" Not altogether too bothered by the delay, gives me time to get some training in.
- Jackie:
- "Oh, honey, registering you doesn't take long at all. Actually, yours is already done." She hands back Katherine's card.
- Katherine:
- "Ah, thank you again. Hmm, what to do while I wait for Yukiko to recover..."
- Jondo:
- "Well...I'm not sitting around all day." Jondo goes to walk out the door, but turns around at the last second to look at Teagan, "You! You're a Ranger, or so you say. Instructor Niall wants us to report to the BRRA. I trust you know where that is?"
- Teagan: (( I certainly hope so, I'd assumed I'd VISITED this town before ))
- Jondo: (( well you apparently knew where the Center was, so you might have ))
- Teagan:
- "Of course - us?" I must've missed some sort of memo, but let's not dwell on that. "Are you a Ranger as well?"
- Innsma:
- "W-well we could always see a movie, or t-take long walks on the beach...bu-but perhaps we'll just buy some shwag. instead."
- Jondo:
- "..yeah? Why ELSE would I've been there with the Ranger instructor? Sheesh, I'm gonna have to pick up the slack, if this is up to us. Whatever, I'm headed there now."
- Black Moon:
- ".....!" Black Moon beats his mask, getting fed up already with these mundane activities.
- Teagan:
- "Oh, sorry - I thought you were asking for directions at first. I'll be right along - sorry, Innsma, I'll see you when I get back."
- Jondo: (( You don't have to go NOW ))
- Jondo: (( Just, sometime today ))
- Teagan: (( was I told this before just now ))
- Jondo:
- "Please don't follow me. Go on your own time. I plan to get some training in before arriving." With that, Jondo leaves...without a partner. Welp that kid's dead.
- Jondo: (( Nope, not in-character ))
- Jondo: (( out of character you were months and months and years ago when we were going to play with Warlord ))
- Teagan: (( I remember something about this, yeah, just not any specifics. ))
- Teagan:
- "...nevermind then, I guess it's not urgent... hm."
- Thrice:
- Anyway - would you like to just timeskip to when your Pokemon are healed?
- Katherine:
- I'm fine either way, unless either of you two want our characters to interact more or something
- Teagan:
- I'm going to get some aerobics in for my daily training (waiting)
- Thrice:
- what a douchebag
- Innsma:
- And I'll just uh...nervously sweat around while occasionally writing in a suspicious book.
- Sal:
- After registering, Sal looks over at Sanya with a smile, "I suppose it is you and I. I say we leave now...let them have some quiet."
- Sanya:
- Sanya doesn'treply with words, and just nods, looking fairly eager to leave as well.
- Katherine: (( is your character just sitting down somewhere, tirk? ))
- Innsma: (( yes, yes she is, kinda ))
- Innsma: (( I guess near the others, but not -quite- near enough ))
- Sal:
- "Oh, that's right." Sal turns to address the two still in the Center, "If you'd like, you are welcome to come with us. You seemed quick to leave before, miss..." @Innsma
- Innsma:
- Innsma quickly jolts her attention upwards. "E-eh? O-oh, thank you f-for the offer b-b-but uh...actually I have n-no good reason to turn you down. S-sure..." Innsma begins sweating an awkwardly pressing her fingers together.
- Sanya:
- Sanya doesn't stop walking away. In fact, it sorta seems like she speeds up when she learns someone else is coming along.
- Sal:
- "For now, I think I will take the miss' advice to check the Pokemon Mart." She turns to Katherine, "You are free to come as your Pokemon heals, if you wish."
- Katherine:
- "I see no reason as for why not. Yes, let me accompany you to the mart."
- Innsma:
- Innsma's sweat rush quickly deflates after he asks Kathy. "(Darn, and here I thought it was gonna start out just like one of my morally questionable YA novels...)"
- Sal:
- Iiiiii am a woman
- Innsma:
- (D) What no, that's not a woman at all
- Sal:
- It's a flat-=chested woman, but still
- Kumiromi2:
- a little easier to see here
- Kumiromi2:
- but also so are the wing things
- Kumiromi2:
- which don't actually exist, obv
- Thrice:
- You're free to think it's a dude IC though
- Innsma:
- I will do that then~
- Jack:
- Well, as you three-and-a-missing walk into the Center, the gungy behind the counter stashes his handheld video game device in a drawer, "Oh! Customers! The kids from before, even! How can I help you?"
- Jack:
- >gungy
- Jack:
- I meant guy, what the fuck is a gungy
- Innsma:
- I dunno but it sounds vagely racist against austrailians
- Jack: (( why does my graphics card randomly reset every now and then ))
- Jack: (( well whatever ))
- Innsma:
- "H-h-hiiiii theereeee..." Innsma nervously scoots up to the counter, eying whatever wares are lining the shelves. "Y-you uh..sell...sell stuff here...to sell...and us to buy...right?"
- Jack:
- "Need a throat lozenge? I got those! And, yes, I do sell stuff here. Stuff, things, items, and gear. Most Trainers look for the Potions section. Or, for those with a little more pocket change, the TMs. I've got a few of em."
- Jack:
- "Always stock the same ones, too! So if you see one you might like later down the line, buy it from me then, all right?"
- Katherine: (( slightly related, but are TMs reusable or ))
- Teagan: (( Yeah, I'm getting my training done in an obscure location (waiting) Just as well because apparently I need to go do grocery shopping now. ))
- Jack: (( No, TMs aren't, but HMs are ))
- Jack: (( the TM list for Iornia is also not standard (waiting) ))
- Katherine: (( >: ))
- Innsma:
- "Hahah...f-funny...may I p-perchance ask just what kind of g-gear you carry?"
- Katherine:
- "Hmm, what kind of TMs do you carry?"
- Jack:
- "Well, how many Badges you got? Most of this stuff is controlled, so you can't cheat the Gyms before you're really ready for them. Buuuuuut, regular old Potions are always available, as well as Antidotes and the like. Bandages, too. Got a few chemistry sets and a Dowsing Rod!"
- Jack:
- "When it comes to TMs...let's see. I've got...TM 39 Ice Punch, TM 64 Phantom Force, and...here we go. TM 15, Psywave. If you don't have the money, come back later! I'll pretty much always have these."
- Katherine: (( Can Vulpix learn Psywave? I prolly don't have enough money, but curious ))
- Jack: (( It can, and the Yamask can learn Phantom Force ))
- Jack: (( Though since the latter is physical that would be sort of useless ))
- Katherine:
- "Hmm, I may come back for Psywave later sometime....how much for it exactly?"
- Innsma:
- "...." On second thought, there's not much else that Innsma wants, but she feels it's rude to walk in without buying anything. "I-I'll just take an antidote, p-please and thank you..."
- Jack:
- "Hmm...here, they go for 2100. I don't actually know of anywhere else you can buy them, so that's the price you'll have to pay if you want it! All things considered, it's not very expensive."
- Jack:
- "Antidote, huh? Sure thing! That comes out to two hundred even."
- Katherine:
- "Hmm, yeah, I'll definitely have to come back for it later. Thanks for the offer though. I'll take 2 antidotes as well."
- Innsma:
- "H-here you go...thank you k-kind sir..."
- Jack:
- "No problem! And here's your two - that's four hundred, of course."
- Katherine:
- *gibs*
- Sal:
- Marsala and Sanya don't purchase anything - mostly because they don't have the money. They're quite interested in the TMs, though.
- Innsma:
- "O-oh uhm uh, i-is th-that a TM you're e-eying there Sal? If you don't have the money, I-I could..." Innsma recounts her stocked savings and realized that she doesn't have nearly enough due to overstocking at the beginning, at least half of which was lost due to the rush to the train a while back. "O-oh, uh, n-nevermind."
- Sal:
- 'He' turns to you, after giving the TMs and Dowsing Rod a look-over, "Hmm? Oh, don't worry your head over it. I'm sure the Gyms will pay enough to buy these, after all."
- Jack:
- "Now then, have you checked out the whole town? I hear the Contest Hall's giving out Pokeblock Cases as a special."
- Innsma:
- "Heeeh heeeh W-well then I p-promise...w-wish me g-good luck then!" The medium's face turns a glossy, shiny red, mostly accented by the sweat built up overtime, and fidgets her fingers together.
- Katherine:
- "Ohhh, Pokeblock cases, eh? Shall we have over there, then?"
- Innsma:
- Innsma refocuses herself "U-uh wha? Oh, s-sure. It can't hurt..."
- Sal:
- "Oh? Pokeblocks...there is a certain Pokemon I'd like that needs those..." She turns the other three, "Will you accompany me there?"
- Thrice:
- AND AS SUCH SINCE AGI'S A GONER, YOU ALL HEAD TO THE CONTEST HALL
- Thrice:
- SRSLY AGI, WHAT THE FUCK MAN
- Innsma:
- Innsma goes back into the red. "S-su- M-most definitely, sir!" She follows accordingly
- Innsma: (( and Agi just said that he's going grocery shopping ))
- Sal: (( i know ))
- Sal:
- Sal's brow contorts at 'Sir', but she figures Innsma's probably addressing Jack. Or maybe it's just one of those 'call a superior sir' things people do.
- Sal:
- sure that works
- Sanya:
- Sanya stays outside for the time being
- Teagan: (( I totally thought that 2100 was for the antidote. ))
- Innsma:
- Upon thinking about it, she realizes somethng of a flaw with this plan. (Or at least fishes for a source of small talk.) "W-wait hold on...wh-what do P-Pokebocks do...and wh-what do you need th-them for?"
- Reena:
- When the glass doors chink open, the lady at the counter looks up, "Ah! Are you guys here for the giveaway?"
- Teagan: (( I'm pretty sure it's Poffins in PTU, isn't it? (hmm) ))
- Teagan: (( but yeah back if it matters ))
- Katherine: (( wait where am I supposed to be lol ))
- Sal: (( It is, but not in eeyorekneeuh ))
- Sal: (( in the room ))
- Katherine:
- ah I just zoomed out
- Teagan: (( What a clinically depressed ass ))
- Sal:
- "They're for making your Pokemon more...striking, you could say. There is a particular Pokemon that requires them to reach its full potential."
- Reena:
- "Uh, hello? I'll take that as a yes." The woman behind the counter holds out a little rectangular box, about the size of a cigarette carton, "This here is a Pokeblock Case, and you sort of...uh...need it, to hold Poke Blocks. It keeps them sealed perfectly. Otherwise, their flavour would degrade, and they wouldn't work so well. I guess any airtight container would do it, but...these can also mix them up! They're a new brand! And since this is the first week they're on sale, we're giving some out as samples!"
- Katherine:
- "Ah yes please. We're all beginning trainers here, and I'd really like one please."
- Teagan:
- "Alright, Caspian - if we're going to work together, we're going to need to establish a few ground rules!" Because nothing catches an infant's attention like a few ground rules. Teagan sets her comrade-in-arms, or in this case, nubs, down on the ground.
- Innsma:
- "S-striking you say? So uh..." Innsma looks down at herself. "This uh...o-only works on P-pokemon then?"
- Teagan:
- "Now, first off! This is our morning training - it's a bit late today, but only today! Tomorrow, and the next day, unless something weird happens, we're going to be up bright and early to get our training in. That's you AND me, we can't be slacking! Now, let's get a good look at you..."
- Teagan:
- Teagan does the whole Pokedex inspection thing she didn't get a chance to do earlier - I assume this is how you learn their moves/abilities and such, but the Professor DID say it didn't work properly
- Reena:
- "One please at a time, thanks. I'll get you two one as well. Now, to mix up a Pokeblock, you just put the berries in this part," She opens up a small side container on the box, which has little slots on the side for berry insertion, "And then you press this green button here. It'll blend the berries you put in there with a paste, which hardens, and bam! Basically it's hard candy." At Innsma's comment, her face turns quizzical, "Uh...well, you can eat them if you want, and I'm sure they'd taste pretty good, but I can't say I know about the effects. They won't hurt you, but as for dramatic effect...I think they make cosmetics out of berries. You're probably better off getting those."
- Reena: (( when'd he say it didn't work properly ))
- Teagan: (( When I asked him about it - wait, no, that was just for their typings ))
- Teagan: (( I think. ))
- Reena: (( It won't tell you their typings, no ))
- Teagan: (( He said they register as "abnormal" and the best way to learn their typing was by battling ))
- Innsma:
- "Well I'll t-take your word f-for it, though uh...wh-where would you find these uh...c-cosmetics around, anyway?"
- Reena:
- "Hmmm....well, Bernal's got a decent marketplace. Might be a vendor there. If not, I'd put my money on Thomson Mere or Callantown. I'd say that any big city ought to have some, however."
- Teagan:
- "Well..." Teagan bites her lip. "The professor wasn't kidding about that. Still... let's see what we have to work with..." Everything's more or less as expected until she comes across the last few moves. "Metronome, and Fairy Wind... raising you is going to be tough, I can tell... well, let's hop right to it. I hope you're light on your feet!"
- Caspian:
- That sure is a pretty flower, I have no idea what you were just talking about
- Sal:
- Sal turns and smiles at Innsma, "Oh, makeup, yes. You'll look absolutely lovely! It wouldn't hurt to introduce Sanya to the concept..."
- Teagan:
- And so he gets a basic dance tutorial, which involves a lot of watching on his part and a lot of twirling on mine.
- Riddick:
- gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
- Riddick:
- y
- Teagan:
- Quiet, you
- Teagan: (( Anyway, I'm going to call that an hour's worth of Training using the Training system - he gains XP equal to a quarter his level, plus my command rank, so 4 ))
- Innsma:
- "Kitaaaaaaa..." Innsma turns more red than a currant and begins mashing, if not straight up smashing those fingers together. "(Aaaa, he said I'd look lovely, I don't think I've ever gotten this far before, keep it together.)" She snaps back in place "O-Oh, uh...thanks. Seems the b-big cities realy d-do have it best...but I l-look beautiful enough a-already, right?"
- Teagan: (( Or I guess that's the first half hour, the second half hour is half that - 6 XP total ))
- Caspian:
- 7 my Acro ain't even the worst
- Teagan:
- 12
- Sal:
- Sal blinks, and fumbles over her words a bit, "Oh, uh, yes, of course! Oh, I hope that didn't sound insulting... I didn't mean it that way at all."
- Innsma:
- "Keh heh...d-don't worry about it for a second. I'm m-more than flattered. I-I'll just uh..t-take one or two of th-those b-blocks for now."
- Sal: (( Well, she gives you the CASE; you need Berries to make blocks ))
- Innsma:
- "Well uh...wh-where's the b-biggest hotspot around t-to find these...'berries' then?"
- Reena:
- "...outside. On trees."
- Reena:
- "There are probably some between here and Bernal."
- Innsma:
- A flustered Innsma turns red again, but for a different reason. "O-Oh, r-right, thank you...I'll keep an eye out f-for these 'trees'"
- Teagan: (( Man, she really does not get out much ))
- Sal:
- Sal seems to realize something as she puts the case in her backpack, "Oh! It was quite the walk here. I think, were we to leave now, you may even be late to pick your Pokemon up, miss."
- Katherine:
- "Right! I'm sure Yukiko misses me. Shall we head off, my friends?"
- Innsma:
- "O-oh, right...sure thing miss. D-don't wanna be l-late and all that." Innsma tries to get herself together and puts away the pokeblock case into her back pocket.
- Sal:
- 99 0 and there are no trees between here and bernal
- Sal:
- there are trees
- Teagan:
- 76 maybe I'll ge- waait a second
- Vassago:
- These faglords left the Cetner a while ago
- Sylvia:
- Healed up! Recovered 43 HP.
- Yukiko:
- Healed up! Recovered 32 HP.
- Sylvia:
- as did that one
- Katherine:
- "Awww, hey Yuki. Sorry I was gone; did you miss me?"
- Teagan:
- I'd be getting back... roughly an hour and 20 minutes after the Poke-mans were put in the healing machine
- Yukiko:
- "Vulpix! Vul!" The fire fox happily jumps back onto Katherine's shoulders, happily and 100%.
- Innsma:
- "She looks...awfully l-lively again, heeh heeeh..."
- Black Moon:
- "..." It's not like BM was one for this 'living' stuff anyway.
- Sylvia:
- what a huge BM indeed
- Sanya:
- Sal goes in with you two, but Sanya stays outside, leaned up against the Center
- Sanya:
- no idea what tonald teagan's doing
- Katherine:
- "Hehe, yeah. She's so cute, isn't she?" Katherine says,as she softly pets her Pokemon
- Teagan: (( Apparently I got back before they did ))
- Teagan: (( So I guess I'd head to the BRRA ))
- Sanya:
- It's past Route 1 (waiting)
- Teagan: (( ...oh, it's not in the building. ))
- Sanya:
- So if you go there, you're heading onto the Route
- Teagan: (( er, town. ))
- Teagan: (( Then yeah I guess I'm waiting because I'm not a FLOUNDERING MORON. ))
- Sal:
- "With that, I do believe we are free to go?"
- Jackie:
- "Yep, the little thing's been just fine for a bit now. Shouldn't have any problems at all."
- Teagan:
- Which... would put me in the Pokecenter, I suppose
- Teagan: (( I guess I was in the bathroom then, bathrooms solve everything ))
- Teagan:
- "Oh - you're all back! Step into the bathroom for a moment, and that's when stuff starts happening. Is everyone heading out then?"
- Teagan: (( Or they might call it a washroom, or a loo in Ireland, who knows ))
- Innsma:
- "Kuuu...I g-guess it is...Sadly Black Moon does not seem t-to enjoy this same kind of treatment..." Innsma quickly turns her attention to Sal "O-Of c-course, we can go anywhere...w-wherever y-you want...or where I want....how a-about that movie and d-dinn-?" But she's then cut off by the officer. "Oh uh...yeah, I g-guess..." she says in a more calmed tone.
- Katherine:
- "Ah yes. Yukiko and I are ready if everyone else is."
- Sal:
- Sal thinks about it for a moment, hand on her chin, "I believe I will be heading to Bernal...That woman said that there may be Berries on the way."
- Sal: (( and BTW, the BRRA is basically on the way to Bernal if you didnt' check the map, agio ))
- Teagan:
- "Good to hear - I needed to make a stop at the BRRA before the day's over. Going on a berry hunt, then?"
- Sal: (( It...should actually be further from Beaufort, but hey ))
- Sal: (( It's basically right next to Bernal ))
- Sal: (( though tht is not reflected on the map as of now (waiting) ))
- Innsma:
- "Keeh heeh...wh-whever you w-want to go, sir..." the medium wobbles her mouth while still poking her increasingly sore fingers.
- Teagan: (( You should totally have a World Map map ))
- Sal:
- "Ah, it's 'Sal', with an L..."
- Teagan: (( Like the condiment? ))
- Teagan: (( Who the fuck names their kid after table salt anyway ))
- Innsma:
- "Teeeheee...and my name is Innsma, like a motherly hotel, heheee..."
- Sal:
- There, Agi
- Teagan: (( That always takes a second read to get the joke ))
- Teagan: (( I keep wanting to think it's russian or something ))
- Sal: (( Actually it's ))
- Sal: (( like the name Al, but with an S ))
- Sal: (( Even though it should technically be Sawl ))
- Sal: (( since her full name is marsala ))
- Sal:
- what no what are you doing agi
- Turtwig 1:
- I'm wondering whether or not this is actually to scale
- Turtwig 1:
- because holy shit
- Innsma: (( this world map is too damn big ))
- Sal:
- It's to scale, yes
- Turtwig 1:
- Me?
- Turtwig 1:
- I'm 100 km wide.
- Sal:
- Actually wait, I'm not ENTIRELY sure it's to scale in MAptool
- Sal:
- it should be
- Turtwig 1:
- It's more than a day's walk for sure. (waiting)
- Turtwig 1:
- Maptool's scale doesn't matter
- Turtwig 1:
- Large just happens to be 100km wide
- Sal:
- It's about 50 miles or so to the BBRA
- Sal:
- BRRA*
- Sal:
- So, ten hours of walking or so
- Sal:
- Actually, probably more like 8 since it likely isn't 80 KM
- Sal:
- this is not a small place
- Turtwig 1:
- We'll need to readdress this later.
- Sal:
- We won't. I did say to prepare to be on the road again (waiting)
- Innsma:
- but are there treeeeees
- Sal:
- And the "Routes" are not actually the ENTIRE routes
- Turtwig 1:
- Dude
- Sal:
- But snippets of them
- Turtwig 1:
- We're starting at the Tyndall Lake research facility.
- Sal:
- ...no, you're not
- Sal:
- You're at Beaufort City
- Turtwig 1:
- That's where we are right now, is- oh fuk wha
- Sal:
- That's...
- Sal:
- that'
- Sal:
- s why the map is
- Sal:
- CALLED BEAUFORT CITY.
- Turtwig 1:
- I'm going to go hang my head in shame now
- Turtwig 1:
- Still holy shit
- Innsma:
- i dont get it
- Sal:
- Tyndall Lake HQ is where Gaol's Gym is
- Sal:
- Beaufort City is where you;ve always been (D)
- Turtwig 1: (( I thought we were at the Research facility, confusing the lab for such ))
- Teagan: (( ANYWAY that's a fuckton of walking so yeah. ))
- Teagan:
- "Let's get to it, then!
- Teagan:
- "
- Sanya:
- Sanya peeks around the corner, as if to size up how many people there are.
- Innsma:
- "O-ok, just uh...I m-might be kind of slow...and t-tired sometimes." Innsma begins to stretch while taking a subtle glance at Sal. "W-would....be great if there was a big strong -man- to c-carry me when my legs f-feel like jelly, y'see?"
- Sal:
- "I do not know that we should continue as one group... Some of us," She glances at Sanya, and to Innsma, "Ah, seem averse to crowds." She laughs a little, shaking her head at Innsma, "I'm afraid all the strong men have left. If there were any to begin with... It's just us now."
- Thrice:
- the only ones in the entire group with above-average Athletics are Kelli and Tonald
- Thrice:
- Sal actually has Pathetic Athletics.
- Innsma:
- "P-pfft, come on. N-no need to sell yourself sh-short. I th-think you're probably plenty strong...if you p-put your mind to it."
- Teagan:
- "Don't worry - if you pass out, there's plenty of room left in my backpack."
- Katherine:
- "Indeed. We are all strong in our own ways."
- Sal:
- It should also probably be noted that, since I' ma woman
- Sal:
- I'm 5'4"
- Teagan:
- I'm something like 5' 6"
- Innsma:
- Yes and I'm probably far taller than him at 5'7"
- Teagan:
- She's into beefy shota
- Katherine:
- 5' 2" (158 cm)
- Katherine:
- I feel so short now (sad)
- Teagan:
- That's the thing about a party of chicks
- Sal:
- "Short...yes. Mh. Getting past that, we should split up. Perhaps the two groups will meet again at Bernal..."
- Teagan:
- No one can get the cookies from the top shelf.
- Sal: (( Well, Vassago's the tallest (Waiting) ))
- Innsma:
- "F-fine then...th-there better be plenty of room in that backpack of yours, T-Teg, because I need some b-breathing room..."
- Sal: (( And Kelli's the same height as #40 ))
- Teagan:
- "I'll see what I can do!" Teagan smiles, wondering in the back of her mind if Innsma got the joke or not.
- Innsma:
- "G-good, n-now you better behave yourself, Black Moon! I'll need you to defend m-me from whatever lurks...out there. C-could be anything..."
- Thrice:
- At a guess
- Thrice:
- I would say Pokemo
- Thrice:
- n
- Teagan:
- no fair, you're the GM, you already know
- Thrice:
- Anyway, do you want to continue tonight, or some other time since it's 7:30 AM
- Black Moon:
- "...." Truly one tends to be numbed to being horrified by whatever lurks in the shadows after being turned into a small mask spirit being enslaved by a crazy fortune teller in the future.
- Katherine:
- "I'm so excited. I've always to be a trainer...now I can with my new friend. Yukiko, you and I are going to have an amazing adventure together!"
- Katherine:
- yeah I'm done
- Teagan: (( I'm mostly wondering why I'm so goddamn hungry right now. ))
- Innsma:
- I'm tired
- Sylvia:
- Oh, right
- Katherine:
- So what's the next available date then?
- Katherine:
- OH RIGHT YUKIKO LEVELED UP
- Teagan:
- I have a couple in the weekday - Monday and Thursday
- Teagan:
- Tomorrow as well of course
- Teagan:
- wait right
- Teagan:
- No Sunday for Thraisu
- Black Moon:
- Let's just do Monday
- Katherine:
- Monday seems good
- Sylvia:
- Even if you lose, you still gain experience
- Black Moon:
- Thrice needs to go to Pokechurch
- Katherine:
- How do I stat level ups? x.x
- Teagan:
- Pretty easy.
- Teagan:
- You gain one point in any stat so long as you don't break BSR.
- Black Moon:
- It used to be an ancient indian ritual
- Teagan:
- And one point in HP.
- Black Moon:
- but now it's just putting a point somewhere
- Yukiko:
- Lets see then..
- Sylvia:
- It was always putting a point somewhere
- Yukiko:
- How do you calculate HP again?
- Sylvia:
- But yes, your Base Stat Relation regulates what you can put where
- Teagan:
- It's... HP*3 + Level + 10, right?
- Sylvia:
- For instance, if your base Attack is 3, and your base Special Attack is 4, your Special Attack must ALWAYS be higher
- Sylvia:
- For Pokemon, yes
- Sylvia:
- If two stats are tied, they can be as close or as far from each other as you want as long as they break no other BSR
- Yukiko:
- 11
- Yukiko:
- whoops
- Sylvia:
- So for your Vulpix, your stats must go Special Defense > Speed > Special Attack > HP/Defense > Attack
- Yukiko:
- 11
- Yukiko:
- I guess one more point in Sp Atk to make it 12 should be okay right?
- Teagan:
- it's not an "x"
- Teagan:
- it's a *
- Teagan:
- x is a letter
- Yukiko:
- 54
- Yukiko:
- danku
- Teagan:
- yep
- Teagan:
- And I assume so, I can't actually access your BSR
- Yukiko:
- Annnd what's my "next level" EXP
- Sylvia:
- Well, right now you're one point over how many you should have
- Sylvia:
- I think you added one point to both Special Attack and HP
- Sylvia:
- You should have a total of 21 points added to your base stats, you had 22
- Yukiko:
- I thought you're supposed to add bot- guess not
- Teagan:
- Well, no, not in that way
- Teagan:
- You sort of INHERENTLY gain 1 point of HP
- Teagan:
- But not the HP STAT, just your HP
- Sylvia:
- Your HP is calculated by HP Stat x 3 + Level + 10
- Teagan:
- Due to the HP formula including Level in it
- Sylvia:
- So if your level goes up, your max, actual HP does
- Yukiko:
- soo it should be 51?
- Sylvia:
- 51
- Sylvia:
- Yes
- Yukiko:
- kk then
- Yukiko:
- Annnd to wrap this up, how do I find out how much EXP I need to reach level 12?
- Sylvia:
- In the PDF, at the very bottom of the bookmarks section
- Sylvia:
- Or well, third from bottom
- Sylvia:
- There's a "Useful Charts" bookmark
- Sylvia:
- Click that or expand it and click Pokemon Experience Chart
- Sylvia:
- Either works
- Yukiko:
- Got it thanks
- Yukiko:
- it's the same for alll Pokemon?
- Sylvia:
- Yep
- Yukiko:
- Aight, then I should be done leveling up
- Sylvia:
- They also made experience far less of a hassle
- Black Moon:
- shit
- Sylvia:
- they used to vary by pokemon
- Teagan:
- Wait, experience NEEDED TO LEVEL UP varied?
- Sylvia:
- But now it's just total levels multiplied by some number determined by the encounter's significance
- Teagan:
- Not just experience given by defeating a given pokemon? (waiting)
- Sylvia:
- No
- Sylvia:
- Just experience drops
- Teagan:
- well good, because sheesh
- Caspian:
- u left me hir u lil bich
- Black Moon:
- I just realized I need to somehow survive 24 levels with this terrible typing
- Teagan:
- You're in your ball
- Teagan:
- I ain't taking you in the girls' bathroom
- Riddick:
- Ghost/Rock Weaknesses: Ground 2x Ghost 2x Steel 2x Water 2x Grass 2x Dark 2x Resistances: Flying 0.5x Poison 0.25x Bug 0.5x Fire 0.5x Immunities: Normal Fighting Aggregate: 19.75
- Riddick:
- Ground/Fighting Weaknesses: Flying 2x Water 2x Grass 2x Psychic 2x Ice 2x Fairy 2x Resistances: Poison 0.5x Rock 0.25x Bug 0.5x Dark 0.5x Immunities: Electric Aggregate: 20.75
- Riddick:
- you'll live
- Riddick:
- I have to live with this for my ENTIRE LIFE
- Katherine:
- SO WE ACTUALLY GONNA CATCH SHIT NEXT TIME
- Riddick:
- NO
- Black Moon:
- My spartan spirit has trained me for punishment
- Riddick:
- You'll nat 99 all your capture rolls
- Teagan:
- We're gonna.
- Teagan:
- we're GONNA.
- Riddick:
- a nat 100 is an auto-capture
- Riddick:
- adn a 1 is good
- Riddick:
- so 99 is the worst you can get
- Black Moon:
- Can we catch them while they're fainted here
- Teagan:
- Not while I'm watchin
- Riddick:
- No, since it sort of defeats 90% of the point
- Teagan:
- thankfully
- Teagan:
- It's actually fucking POSSIBLE to tell how much HP they have with the HP bars.
- Black Moon:
- But we've done that in every other PT_ game
- Teagan:
- As opposed to all prior PTA/U games.
- Riddick:
- There are special ways to do it, I think, but they're illegal or something
- Riddick:
- Devil Case Cost: $3000 Effect: These dangerous and often illegal cases remove the failsafe on Poké Balls that prevents them from catching Pokémon that are at 0 Hit Points or less. It allows Poké Balls to catch Fainted Pokémon as normal, but automatically inflicts 2 Injuries when hitting a Pokémon - whether the Capture is successful or not.
- Riddick:
- That's the only way
- Riddick:
- And yeah, we did it before, but it was stupid
- Riddick:
- It rewarded just ramboing in and killing everything
- Riddick:
- And removed any stress of trying to capture a strong Pokemon, since if you throw a ball yo ucan't take a standard action to shank it
- Riddick:
- YOu do still get your command action though
- Teagan:
- Does anyone have any sleep/paralyze capacity
- Riddick:
- To...inflict, or cure?
- Innsma:
- I have hypnosis
- Riddick:
- Because the answer's no either way
- Teagan:
- Inflict, yeah.
- Riddick:
- Well, Hypnosis
- Riddick:
- so, no
- Riddick:
- because hipposis is ass
- Teagan:
- Is it AC 11 again for some reason
- Riddick:
- It's 6 for some reason
- Riddick:
- Which is still high
- Teagan:
- ...
- Teagan:
- Hypnotic Static Effect: Connection - Hypnosis. When used by the user, Hypnosis cannot miss.
- Teagan:
- Jesus.
- Teagan:
- For a High Ability for Hypno assumedly
- Riddick:
- By all rights it should be 10
- Riddick:
- It's an Advanced Ability for Drowzee line
- Riddick:
- High for Stantler, Malamar, and Poliwag lines
- Riddick:
- Anyway save ur shit if you need to
- Riddick:
- I gotta be the gone
- Riddick:
- it's like being the guy, but more realistic
- Teagan:
- Shit be shaved, capshin
