Zatta's bio

Zatta was born on Delta IV and is part of a medium sized family. He has one older sister, a politician named Telina and a  younger brother who joined Starfleet, his name is Garnad. Zatta was pretty close with his father, taking an interest in his work at a young age. Zatta's father is named Zane, and he has been an engineer on Delta IV for many years. In fact, he met his wife Yalina while he was working, repairing consoles in the political sciences building. They hit it off right away and made a commitment to each other, wanting to start a family sooner rather than later.

Zane bought Zatta his first engine when he was seven, the precocious child managed to take it apart and put it back together within a few months. From them on it was a progression, and a hobby that both father and son enjoyed together. They would take trips to shipyards to study propulsion systems and by the time he was a teenager, most engine repairs were done by Zatta.

His mother enjoyed watching him blossom with his hobby but she and his sister Telina spent a lot of time trying to get Zatta into politics. He had a good ear, listened well to people when they spoke and was able to show empathy when something was going wrong. All of these are great traits for a politician. Zatta calmly explained to his sister and his mother that while he enjoyed this aspect of himself, he enjoyed working in engines and propulsion more.

His younger brother graduated at the top of his class, and had a lot of opportunities presented to him, much to Zatta's chagrin he ended up choosing a Starfleet career and ended up taking the vow and the chemicals that came with it. Zatta would love to get his hands on some of the Starfleet vessels, but he didn't agree completely with the vow and the chemicals, especially after seeing the change to his brother.

Zatta never got over the bug that made him want to get out and explore and see new things and people. From the time that his brother left, he was bitten by the bug to want to explore and decided to send out his resume to several different civilian companies to see what kind of opportunities would be presented to him. A few weeks after his resume went out, a viewscreen call came in from a woman named Olivia Locke. He explained his situation, and the desire to live his life without the drugs and vow, and she was willing to take a chance on him.

Zatta’s parents were not excited about this prospect, even though the pay was good. Galactic Living has a good reputation, but they had a lot more in mind for their middle child. It took quite a bit of time for him to convince his parents to give their blessing, especially since he wasn’t going to leave home without it. Many viewscreen calls later, the family felt confident that they knew Olivia Locke well enough to consider her offer of employment a blessing. Plans were made for him to visit him before he had even left, and his father even offered to help him purchase his own small ship, so that he could visit home more. Zatta declined this and he made his way to Milan Station to start his new career.
