To start AoFE with UserPatch v1.5:
- be sure UserPatch v1.5 is already installed (http://userpatch.aiscripters.net/guide.html)
- browse to the "Age of Empires II\Support" folder (http://i.imgur.com/1yw3CyE.png)
- copy/paste to clone the "Conquerors v1.5" shortcut
- right-click the new shortcut, select "Properties"
- in the "Target" box, add the following after the quote: game=age2_x2
- optionally, move the new shortcut to your desktop, etc.

Target box example for age2_x1.exe:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\age2_x1\age2_x1.exe" game=age2_x2
Target box example for age2_x1.5.exe:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\age2_x1\age2_x1.5.exe" game=age2_x2

Important notes when AoFE is started with UP v1.5:
- no rec compatibility with the official AoFE v2.2
- you can still start AoFE v2.2 with the AoFE launcher
- to open AoFE v2.2 recs and saves, you must open v2.2 as before
- for multiplayer, all players must start either AoFE v2.2 or AoFE with UP v1.5
