Part 1:  Introductiongate, an entry to gates

Here's a surefire great way to start any video:  I don't want to do this video.  I'll get into why soon.  If you're watching this video it's likely I didn't even record it myself, I had someone else do it for me.

In late 2018, the comicsgate movement had a massive fatal fracturing, and then immediately fell under a suspicious conspiracy of silence, and then that silence was quickly blanketed over with several very loud multi-hour long streams on a daily basis telling you, "fellow members of comicsgate," that there was nothing wrong and your heroic leaders were triggering the libs and owning the libs right this second.

In reality, behind the scenes, everyone was slashing each other's throats, threatening the smaller names for not falling in line, and shoring up their false narratives and persecution complexes like a bunch of furries, before memory holing all of it and moving back to perpetual self promotion.  Most of the people who got fucked over, like Nerkish and Timothy Lim, who were in the best position to reveal what was happening under the covers of comicsgate, instead backed off, wanting to move on with their lives, and prefer not to talk about it, and I can't blame them.  However, each time this happened, comicsgate's potential size fractured further and further, leaving a few insiders who knew the truth about comicsgate being pushed into an even smaller and more lonely corner where they had to help enforce the narrative or be the next to go.

Lately there have been more comicsgate supporters too deep in the trenches to see the top, and even they are starting to grow suspicious, all those poor dumb tubby dorks with crippling speech impediments getting ponderous about comicsgate and what's going wrong with comicsgate, and why is there infighting, and why can't comicsgate just focus on their goals, and why haven't their comics come out yet?

To quickly introduce us, we're formerly from a blog named shittywebcomics, where we would bitch about webcomics incessantly.  This was several years ago, from around 2011 to 2015.  We knew the webcomics we were going to trash had very sensitive fanbases, so we hosted our blog on the most ideal site for such a thing, tumblr.  We were shadowbanned in a year, which we constantly gloated about, and by 2015 we were finally fully banned as a personal favor called in from an employee of Marvel comics.  The point is that if you followed us back in the day you know we're not journalists, we don't research, we don't dig, we don't fact check, we don't provide sources, we don't take notes, we don't script videos, we don't do editing, we don't do the whole cute animatic video puppet thing.  We flew by the seat of our pants hoping for a spectacular flameout which took way too long to finally happen.  During our time on tumblr we had seen people attempt to form thoughtful cogent sourced arguments in response to retarded hyperemotional tumblr girls claiming the wage gap was a myth or that a quarter of every woman in college was raped and run over with a car no less than 6 times.  We'd see posts that were multiple paragraphs long scrolling and scrolling and scrolling by of "the discourse" on blue hellsite, where people would respond to certifiably insane people, and try to explain why the insane thing the insane person believed was, in fact, not very rational.  They'd put passion and time and work into their argument, with 20 individually sourced links containing smoking gun evidence that explained why the feminist was, as usual, an insane retard, and all that work forming their argument ended up being a complete waste of time as yet another insane person would reply with 20 paragraphs about how all women that go to college have been raped to death twice.  Us at shittywebcomics, on the other hand, knew better than to waste our time with that gay discourse shit.  If you're in a car driving towards a tree (with a knife nailed to it) you can sit there engaging in the dialectic of how you're about to drive into that tree, and that there are many useful things you could do, and everyone discusses the multiple options as the driver keeps flooring it, and then once you slam into that tree, what good was the dialectic?

I did have some admiration for the amount of sourcing and digging that some people put in to make their points, but to me it was a waste of time when you could just call them a cunt and laugh about their statistically guaranteed cutting disorder.  Getting engaged in the dreaded discourse is ultimately only self serving, so you can feel better about how insightful you were in response to the ravening psycho who would never try to comprehend what you replied with.  So we never bothered with that stuff.  But I guess that doesn't lend itself to trying to inform people about real life events.  A carefully researched and thoughtfully written article is something that absolutely should never be down to us, and yet for some reason in this case it is, and we resent that deeply.

There's one reason why it's down to us.  We never cared about losing followers.  We were never in this for popularity or building a following or establishing a brand or other fruity shit like that.  We were always too honest for our own good, in a legitimate way, instead of the fake way everyone else claims, we're the only ones who can say that for real, everyone else is just pretending they're us when they try to say that sort of thing.  We attained lewd pleasure from telling people the truth that would make them the most angry, whereas the people of comicsgate are desperately trying to avoid a subscriber plateau, or they're researching how to maximize ad revenue, instead of saying something that's true that others in comicsgate won't like.  They intentionally avoid topics that gets them downvotes.  They beg for likes and subscribes at the end of their videos, because that's all they're in this for.  They're soft and weak.  Only a person who doesn't care about losing subscribers will ever tell you the truth, and we knew this before you ever did.

This is the situation that we're in right now, the blank spot in reality where no one else is admitting to what's happening, and we don't feel like being the only few people in our entire species to say "here is the truth that no one else will say because everyone knows it will make you enraged beyond the capacity for rational thought and human behavior."  We've seen people in comicsgate revert to chimping out just from our mere words.  This is what was originally called trolling, back in our day when trolling really meant something let me tell ya.  Before we die of incredibly horrifically embarrassingly old age, though, maybe we will have one last adventure where we rape people's souls through the internet.  Over superhero comic books.  Definitely a good use of our time.

Most drama groups also don't get into this because, aside from no one speaking out to make them aware of it, the drama itself is not very significant in comparison to a lot of the shit going on the internet these days.  There are no drug addicts throwing people through plate glass windows because they got demonetized, or 80 billion dollar lawsuits over a tweet, or some guy's girlfriend barrel rolling her flaming car into the side of a school bus because of an instagram pic.  Most of the comicsgate drama is low grade high school stuff, weak faggots whining because drawn fanfics written at a kindergarten reading level are doing things they don't like.  Their great depression is their lives.

So take this as a disclaimer that as sloppy and painfully long as these videos are going to be, you personally had every opportunity to do better and you didn't.  All the facts were out there for people to document, and they memory holed them for whatever reason.  Discard these videos at your own leisure and your own peril, because as usual with shittywebcomics, what we say today, you'll be saying 5 years from now.

So, to finally start this video, what's the whole gate thing about?

The "gate" suffix of course comes from the video game Metal Gear Solid, oh wait no that's retarded, it was from Watergate in the 70s, when Nixon used his reelection fund to pay a handful of spies break into the Watergate hotel in an attempt to plant bugs in the rooms of some democrats.  From there, the "gate" suffix started being used in an offhanded way to refer to political scandals.  When Bill Clinton was caught having sex with a White House intern it was called Monicagate, that sort of thing.

Near the end of summer of 2014, some toilet roastie got caught having sex with several loser beta nerd bloggers for video game news websites, in exchange for some press blabs for her lazily made text adventure game.  Her long suffering boyfriend wrote an expansive post, called the Zoe Post, detailing how she emotionally abused him as well as cheated on him, as well as some of her general borderline personality disorder adventures in the world of indie games and being a skank.  The more hardcore gamers have known for years prior that game news websites had zero integrity, but at least they used to be corrupt in a logical way, with big name developers simply buying a positive review for their shitty game, and guys got fired for doing negative reviews of games whose ads were splattered all over the website, Kane and Lynch 2 in particular, the story about that was more interesting than that game, that's for sure.

What changed more around 2014 is those game websites now were based on guilting you, white male, for being inherently evil because you have male interests in violence and titties and swearing over voice chat.  There was some pretty blatant political brainwashing being pushed harder and harder into supposed news about video games, pretentious think pieces popping up more and more about how video game violence is like literal rape (I wish).  When the sucking of cocks became literal instead of figurative, it changed the paradigm and brought everything to critical mass, and the video game news websites finally started getting their much deserved backlash.  One or two full whole entire days later, nearly a dozen separate video games news sites all posted articles claiming something to the effect of "gamers are dead."  This made it that much more obvious how all the sites were working together to force a false narrative, not only on games news sites, but throughout the entire mainstream media, yes even those media sources you used to think were reliable and honest, unless you ever read Instapundit with any regularity, then you already knew all of this a decade ago.

As the "Zoe Post" was blowing up and the media showed its narrative hand, of all people, the guy who played Animal Mother in Full Metal Jacket dubbed this video game scandal "gamergate," which had a certain unique ring to it, abbreviating to "GG" as in "good game," so a lot of pieces fit.  It caught on quickly, and lots of people jumped onto the cause.

Gamergate had an impressive set of tactics to start off, firstly avoiding having any leaders or "important names" in the movement.  There would be popular people within gamergate, but it was firmly enforced that they would have no control, and usually any who wanted to make themselves a voice of gamergate were not only discarded but ended up being an embarrassment at some point or another.

Gamergate's main tactic was to email advertisers of games news websites and try to get those advertisers to drop out, and there were some desires to hold "game journalists" (in giant sneer quotes) accountable for not disclosing personal relationships with people they were writing about.  While it's true that a game journalist having a personal relationship with the subject of their article is indeed a conflict of interest, at the same time that's acting like video game news writers could have expectations for integrity, not even any more than real journalists, and we figured that should've been obvious long before gamergate, but I guess there was no catchy name to get the point across.  As Glenn Reynolds said, if you think of them as democrat party operatives with bylines, everything makes sense.

In time, several games news sites and lying media sites took huge hits due to various factors, like Hulk Hogan winning a multi million dollar lawsuit against gawker.  Gamergate putting the pressure on might've helped as well, though that could be harder to measure, I'm not entirely sure about that myself and you're better off asking people who know more about the inner specific workings of gamergate around that time.  I was definitely in favor of gamergate in general to start with, and shittywebcomics was there when the whole thing kicked off, but as time passed gamergate was more publicly about "ethics in games journalism" and less admitting to the core of the disease, that being the failed and corrupting ideology of social justice which leads to hatred of men and white people, and if gamergate wasn't going to make that central to the movement then we didn't care much anymore.  Gamergate still vaguely continues in smaller pockets around the internet but even though it will probably forever be the babayaga of the baizuo MORDs, gamergate doesn't seem to be up to much these days.

Back when gamergate initially blew up in 2014, we at shittywebcomics had seen the same problems not only in the comics industry but also throughout indie comics and webcomics, where proponents of social justice, whether webcomic authors or their fans, had already formed cabals to attack and libel and censor others in comics, such as if they supported gun ownership rights or didn't hate white men, or even if some webcomic creator simply failed to denounce white males, they'd all become targets, as well as social justice proponents targeting each other as we noticed, which was where the rules of "SJWs always project" and "SJWs always turn on each other" came from, our dumb little webcomic review blog many years ago, as we were making social justice comics people shit blood just by making fun of them.  So as we had been deep in the trenches of this since before gamergate, we thought it was pretty natural that there should be a gamergate for comics, and we started talking about it around 2015.  I'll spoil this quick, it didn't go anywhere, maybe because the first obvious goal was that the "big two" of Marvel and DC were pointless and should just die already.  As it turns out, this idea instantly made you an enemy of comicsgate supporters, it pissed off comicsgate as much as saying the wage gap is a myth would piss off a feminist.  So, as we revealed what it would take for comicsgate to exist and to win, comicsgate proudly proclaimed that, if that's what it would take to win, then there would be no comicsgate.  They just wouldn't have the balls to do what we said would be needed, so I'm afraid they won't be joining us in the sun, for the rest of their lives.

However, a couple years later, a watered down derivative of our blog came along, and gave weak people a glimmer of hope that perhaps a magical mystical superhero could arrive and vicariously fulfill their most childish power fantasies.  But that's a story for next time.
