[02:20] * Carmilla_Matache is probably lucky to be alive, and she knows it. All the non-debilitating painkillers in the world can't do away with both the sensory unrest dealt by having Unit 03 torn asunder and the physical pain of having her Entry Plug broken against the pavement. She still has things she needs to do, though. After a while of negotiating visitation to Heinkel, she dawdles into the brig uneasily and heads along over to his (probably the only occupied) cell. "Heinkel?" Her left arm is still in a second-stage cast and she has some bruising and bandaging here-and-there, but she's more-or-less intact. There's only an unbuttoned coat over a short-sleeved shirt with a skirt as opposed to her usual dresses -- casts and dresses don't work.
[02:22] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Ich sagte hau ab! Ich habe nichts zu sagen-...oh. Carmilla...hello." He sits on the concrete slab of a bed, staring at the irons on his wrists.
[02:24] <Carmilla_Matache> "I cannot understand German," she repeats as she usually does while inspecting the cell. "Your cell looks boring."
[02:24] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "I am sorry...I did not know it was you at first..."
[02:26] <Carmilla_Matache> "Do you know if Unit 03 is repaired?" She's apparently unaware he's been in the brig the whole time.
[02:27] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "I...I do not. I know nothing beyond these four walls, and my own mind right now." He looks up a little, the light catching on the rough blond beard that had started to form in the absence of his ability to shave.
[02:29] <Carmilla_Matache> "I don't think it wanted me to die, my Entry Plug ejected itself midway through being attacked." That's the only rational reason Carmilla can hazard as to why she isn't dead. "Why are you here?"
[02:30] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Because...I did something I shouldn't have."
[02:31] <Carmilla_Matache> "I'm scared of piloting again..."
[02:32] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "...I know. I am as well."
[02:32] <Carmilla_Matache> "... ... ..." She doesn't seem sure what else to say.
[02:34] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Please...focus on your recovery. There are better things you could do than visit a failure in his stone cage."
[02:38] * Carmilla_Matache shakes her head. "The rogue Evangelion was disabled, hopefully the pilot can sleep now."
[02:39] <Heinkel_Kleiner> The chains connecting his handcuffs clink as he goes rigid for a moment, then settles again. "Y-yes."
[02:40] <Carmilla_Matache> "The mission wasn't failed, then?"
[02:40] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "It...was not failed. But...it was far from successful."
[02:41] <Carmilla_Matache> "Then we're merely unsuccessful, not a failures." ... Because there's a lot of difference between the two definitions!
[02:43] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Heh...I suppose that is true. Please...rest. You need it to recover as soon as you can."
[02:45] <Carmilla_Matache> "I don't want to rest anymore. Will you teach me to use a gun properly when you get out? I won't fight beside Unit 01 again."
[02:46] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "...yes. I think I can do that." A soft smile. "I can procure the arms from the inventory, and the range is always open."
[02:49] * Carmilla_Matache honestly doesn't have many reasons to smile presently, but she imitates a wane on for him. "Thank you. Is your liver working better?" She can only hope he isn't getting alcohol in the brig.
[02:51] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "I...haven't noticed. I can't tell how it usually works. I feel like all hell though...mostly that's beating myself up."
[02:53] <Carmilla_Matache> "You're engaging in self-mutilation? Or are you berating yourself?"
[02:53] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "...the second one. Though occasionally I hit my head against a wall. I stopped that after the third day."
[02:59] <Carmilla_Matache> "I was worried this would happen after we were contracted to hit the targets," the Manufactured muses with surprising foresight.
[03:00] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Next time you worry about something...a heads up would be nice."
[03:01] * Carmilla_Matache stiffens slightly, then nods her head with an expression turned abruptly serious. "Yes, Heinkel. I'm going to look at Unit 03 and then talk to the Commander, we'll speak again soon?"
[03:03] <Heinkel_Kleiner> "Ja. As soon as you like. I have nothing but time here." He swivels, laying down on the concrete slab. "Heute wollen, wir en liedlein siiiiiingen...trinken wollen, wir den kuhlen wein..."
[03:05] * Carmilla_Matache bows her head to him. "Good-bye, then." That said, she turns to slip off.
