The Mao Martial Artists, focused on trickery and flexibility, derive most of their strength from presenting a myriad of forms that are not easily countered. Foes of a well-trained Mao will undoubtedly find themselves struggling to keep up with the tempo of battle. Precision in every movement is imperative. The Mao Scroll also imparts the importance of being able to determine whether the opponent one is facing can be felled. Those who cannot be confronted with this style, the scroll reads, must be assaulted through other means or with the element of surprise. In an odd way, the martial art is cowardly. However, you can see that this venerated martial arts style holds a great amount of humility to itself. That in mind, you do not find it difficult to respect the martial art.
