  (He was very nervous, so I’m pretty sure he was lying. If he was telling the truth he wouldn’t have been nervous.)

I should have given it two thumbs up. = It was a good idea, but I didn’t do it.
I must have given it two thumbs up. = I’m pretty sure I gave it two thumbs up.
I could have given it two thumbs up. = It was possible for me to do this, but I didn’t do it.
I would have given it two thumbs up. = If I were a movie reviewer, I would have given it a good review.
I wouldn’t have given it two thumbs up. = If I were a critic, I would have said it was a bad movie. (This is true, because “It was horrible!”)

1 take in a movie = go to the movies / see a movie
2 hang out = relax and do nothing
3 B and B / B&B = bed and breakfast (like a hotel but in something that looks like a house)
4 take a dip = go swimming
5 soaking up some sun = sunbathing
6 hit the town = go into town (and do activities there)
7 booked solid = completely filled (no vacancy) (a booking is another word for a reservation)
8 to put us up = to accommodate us (to let us stay there)
9 grab a cab = take a taxicab
10 stayed up till all hours of the night = stayed awake until very late
11 sightseeing = visiting some interesting places
12 sleeping in = sleeping later than usual
