Big Data refers to the collection of all this data and our ability to use it to our advantage across a wide range of areas.

What is data on mobile phones?
Mobile data allows smartphone users to access the internet, even without Wi-Fi access. If you have a data-enabled device, you’ll access your apps, information, email, and more using smartphone data.

How long does it take to use 1Gb of data?
The answer depends on what you are doing. For example, if you were to only look at webpages, you could browse through more than 435, before using up your 1Gb of Data. If you were sending and checking emails, you could read through 13,000. If you were on Instagram, you could view 10,000 photos, or share 200. Streaming music would last you 7 hours, while streaming videos will last you 4 hours.

Do you still use data while on WIFI?
You do not use data while on WIFI, only when you are out of WIFI range.

Do I use data when I text?
iMessages use data because they route not through to a phone number, but to an Apple ID that is associated with that phone number. This is why you can message on WiFi but not data.

Do I want mobile data on or off?
You only use your data when you are not connected to the WIFI. If you do not need to do anything that requires the internet and have your data on, you should turn it off.

How do I stop my apps from using data?
step 1: go to settings
2: scroll down to view a list of your apps
3: select the app you don’t want connected to mobile data
4: click Restrict app background data.


How do I find out what apps are using the most data?
Open settings app
Tap cellular
Scroll down to use cellular data for:
Each app you have will be listed, and below the name of the app you’ll see how much data it’s used.
