- >with their rapport with 666 News improving, Gospel had agreed to another interview
- >arrives with his daughters, Bratislav, Alastor, and some of the other anons in tow
- >...only to find that Vox is there - apparently, he had taken issue with Katie inviting the anons to her show - especially after how they treated Valentino, though, they had appeared on the show way before they began to antagonize the pimp, and Gospel handed him his ass
- >since Alastor is quickly becoming incensed at Vox's presence, they're contemplating on leaving...
- >until they notice the anchors themselves
- >Tom looks ticked off, being held down by two thugs with boxing/baseball gloves for heads, which form big, grinning mouths with their gaps
- >he's notably disheveled, and his clothing looks thorn
- >Katie looks relatively unharmed - but she's terrified
- >and not in a "oh shit, the boss is here!" sort of way - despite standing out in the open, she looks cornered, and shuddering
- >fearing for her life
- >upon a second look, they notice that she's clutching her forearm - and her blazer looks burned, the smell of ozone, molten plastic and burnt fabric filling the air
- >along with the faint smell of blood
- >at this point, both Cherri and Vaggie had drawn their weapons, along with Bratislav
- >Chan is currently cycling through his boards, considering which clones he should summon - and the clicking noise from that alerts Vox to their presence
- >turning around, he leers at the gathered group - one look at their armed and ready state confirms to him their allegiance to Killjoy
- >"I'll deal with you l͘a̶t͜e͠r̷..." he hisses at her with a static filled voice, causing the anchorwoman to flinch, and Tom to renew his struggles against the thugs, though, a few quick punches stop him from struggling
- >Vox then approaches the group, congratulating them on turning his own venture against him
- >Bratislav flatly declares that he had done that himself when he assaulted his own workers
- >the TV demon pauses
- -
- >Alastor takes the word, admonishing him for his "boring" business practices
- >Vox breaks out into a mocking laughter, jeering a their "outdated mindsets and ideas", before declaring that everything they see, including Tom and Katie, belongs to him
- >Alastor quietly asks him if slavery isn't an "outdated idea", only causing him to snicker, telling them to come back to him once they learned what "indenture" is
- >cue Chan, in full /biz/ mode, giving him a lecture on the subject, also bringing up a number of labor laws
- >Vox is now frowning, telling them that such things don't matter in Hell
- >"Well, then surely, neither does indenture." Gospel reminds him patiently
- >Vox frowns, and snaps his fingers, his two thugs beginning to pummel Tom even more
- >he lets loose a childish, giddy laughter (only made threatening by the slow-down and echo applied to it), and reaches for Katie, who recoils at the sight of his electrically charged claws
- >"Zap!" Gospel calls out, causing the electric anon to come crackling out of a studio light
- >Vox's eyes widen as the living lightning being reaches him, causing him to freeze, mid-movement, allowing Katie to retreat
- >Zap causes Vox's head to go haywire, and he falls to his knees
- >the two thugs beating on Tom pause for a second, before one of them pulls out a gun, firing towards Gospel - the shot barely missing him, and hitting Cherri's hairtube instead, causing her trademark "fuse" to unfurl
- >she's unhurt, but the shot was enough to send Gospel over the edge
- >the others watch, as he rapidly transforms, and charges at the two goons, roaring
- >they drop their weapons (and Tom), and run off - the masked man coming to his senses when Gospel is right on top of him, his roar reminding him of an artillery shell approaching
- >his PTSD triggered, he turns into Trench Tom, and - after the two briefly eye one another, before nodding - he runs towards the incapacitated Vox, trench shovel raised
- >while Gospel chases after the goons
- -
- >Cherri and Vaggie run after their father, while Zap leaves Vox's body, allowing him to regain consciousness, just in time to see the enraged WWI-esque discount Doomguy barrelling towards him
- >before he has any time to react, he gets a screenfull of steel, knocking on his back, while Tom empties out the rest of his arsenal on him, melee weapons and firearms included
- >on the roof, Gospel had cornered the two gloveheads, who are begging for mercy
- >listening to their pleas, he decides to leave them alone, turning his back to them - only for the two to grin, and pull out their weapons
- >the second they do, they're pinned to the concrete of the roof by a bunch of throwing knives, causing them to drop their weapons, before a pair of bombs blows the off the roof, now limbless, making them land on the asphalt below with a sickening crunch
- >looking up, Gospel sees his daughters, running up to him despite his monstrous form, and hugging him, causing him to calm down and revert back, returning the hug
- >after they're assured he's safe, they return to the studio to quite a sight: the equipment is trashed, replacement is being brought in by Chan's clones, and the studio staff that had come out it's hiding place, Stretch is trying to stop the fire from Vox's charred corpse from spreading with an industrial-sized fire extinguisher, while Bratislav is squatting beside the non-TV part of the TV demons body, cooking shaslik over the flames - with Alastor standing intently nearby
- >not far from the, Tom, still in Trench mode, is holding a WWI-era medkit in one hand, while the other is trying to pry Katie away, who's busy straddling his body, having pulled up his mask to french him (despite his protests), and seems to be getting a rather hot and bothered, if her soaked panties are any indication (since the distinct lack of the smell of urine - or any suspicious puddles, for that matter - indicate that the moist undergarments aren't the result of Vox's "disciplinary actions")
- -
- >as the others manage to put out Vox's corpse, and Bratislav observes the skies from the window, to see if Vox respawns (after having his shaslik stolen by Alastor), Gospel takes upon himself to suggest to Katie (and the now equally aroused Tom, who's slowly returning to his normal form, as well as returning his colleague's latent affections) to take their make-out session somewhere more private, while everyone else prepares for the interview
- >as the two hurriedly leave, amid the chuckles and groans of the others, Gospel just shakes his head
- >"Just another day at 666 News."
- There.
