二郎爺心中大惱，用三尖刀先斬了些獐、狼、豹、鹿，然後衝過陣內，專要將玉面狐生擒活捉。兩個並不答話，一齊刀劍並舉，各展神通，殺在一處。這一交手，更是利害：
二郎神直用刀砍，玉面狐忙用劍迎。刀砍霜光噴烈火，劍迎銳氣起愁雲。

Erlang's heart was full of rage, and he used his Sanjiaoliangrendao to slay roebucks, wolves, leopards, deers, and then charged towards inside of the formation, to capture Yumianhu alive. The two said not a word, and raised their weapons, displaying their divine powers, aiming to kill the other. This clash was quite impressive:

Erlang Shen attacked with his Sanjiaoliangrendao (it only says dao, but it's obvious what it's actually referring to), and the Yumianhu attacked with his sword. The Sanjiaoliangrendao split frosty light and spewed fire, and the sword when attacking generated dark clouds (literal translation is sorrowful/worrying clouds, but dark clouds is *probably* what it means)
