- It’s a healthy 9pm, the Entertainment Districts facilities are just ramping up for the heavy nightlife that’s about to begin. The eight of you had heard of the TD/MD concert that attracts a large portion of the district to partake in the amazing and entrancing music that she performs. After some deliberation, you decided that it would make a nice break from the tedium, and perhaps she knew about some of the oddities surrounding Los Fortuna.
- To that end, RED ORCA is transporting you to the nearest subway exit at breakneck speeds so that you can get the best seats, and hopefully get the lucky chance for an autograph where you can ask your questions. Even if it comes up negative, you could still get an autograph that, even if you don’t want to keep, you could sell for a hefty price.
- Your plans hit a speedbump, however, as RED ORCA screeches to a halt. It hisses, as if annoyed by a presence that it is not used to. Closer inspection of your surroundings yields a blocked off tunnel to your left, barricaded by a worn wooden installation. From within, you can hear screams of joy, excitement, and pain. Unsure of what to do, you consider your options:
- >A. Continue to the concert and come back later.
- >B. Investigate the installation.
- >C. Other (please specify).
- -----------------------------
- The heroic, teeny visage of Jo Kaneko stands in front of the wood, arms on her hips.
- "よーよーよー此れは何ですか?調査するのは主人公の義務だと思います!"
- 《Hey, hey, hey! What's this? I guess it's a hero's job to investigate!》
- She sweeps her hands in front of herself, clenches her fist dramatically, looks down at it like she's envisioning the camera zooming in as she clenches it tighter, and then throws it up in the air, bringing it down as an open palm vertically, as if she were splitting herself in half with a knife made of hand.
- "へンシン!"
- 《Transform!》
- Her belt pulls up from the ground, tentacles wrapping around her. Soon after, she cuts her way out, wasting no time in squeezing herself in through a small gap in the wood to get through the other side.
- 「THE DEVIL'S ARMS BURST FROM AN INKY VOID! PACIFIC....RED!」
- ((Jo slips through the blockade and towards the sounds to investigate))
- =======
- Right behind Jo, Dread follows with decidedly less theatrics. She hikes up her dress and climbs out of the train, careful to avoid the third rail. It would hurt, yes, but it would be a bit too lethal to be worth it. She approaches the disturbance, trying to stay quiet and out of sight until she knows what she's dealing with.
- =======
- A slight sigh leaves A.B.B.A
- “I think helping is worth the investment. This seems like it’ll be a more promising venture then our other appointment.”
- With that said he looked and moved towards the unknown noises.
- “Time is money people let’s. move!”
- (A.B.B.A starts walking at steady pace while taking in surrounding but not trying to lose sight of why he started moving forward. Keeping both hands ready for a fight to break out.)
- =======
- Laverne decided to take their time, allowing the other three to go on ahead. ABBA was correct, but so too was the saying, 'haste makes waste.' This blockage in their home turf was not something to wave off. The more they knew about this city, the better.
- Before many could run out of earshot, they announced,
- "You may go ahead. The night is young, there is no need to rush. I shall keep a close eye on our surroundings. If something happens ahead, give us a sign."
- ((Laverne investigates the installation and the areas past it, going slower than the rest to take in any information they might miss))
- =======
- It seemed to Hypiretes that the rest of the group had more or less made up its mind. As some began to advance, he prepared to follow.
- Black metal began to appear from his neck, growing and spreading around his body as 「Doin' It Right」 began to take shape. Sleek rods, cords, and joints locked in place around his limbs, as metal plates molded to his face. Around his eyes it thinned and became a pair of clear lenses, and it split into a set of thin openings near his mouth. A puff of steam released by the slits signified that the Stand had finished forming.
- "I'll keep an eye out. Let you know if anything happens up ahead," he informed Jo and Dread as he took point near the front. He kept his distance from them, staying as hidden as possible and keeping a close watch on the path ahead, his Stand making sure he could catch any movement or potentially hard-to-spot detail.
- ((Hypiretes stays ahead, separate from Jo and Dread. He uses his Stand to keep an eye our for potential dangers and alerts the team if he sees anything))
- =======
- Art had learned to be wary whenever Etienne would behave quite reservedly from his usual demeanor, a golden scarf now wrapped around his neck as the moray eel coils much more around him in an effort to be all the closer. Whilst his cheek was brushed by the eel's cool body Art begun his ambling half-step about the place, hand trailing RED ORCA's side all the while.
- ((Art pretty much follows the general direction that everyone is going on, though has no particular tactical decisions))
- =======
- TL;DR:
- Jo, Dread, ABBA, and Hyp go ahead to scout
- Laverne, Dmitri, Nebula and Art investigate the blockade, letting the other half go ahead while they take a more thorough approach))
- -----------------------------
- All of you decide that you can skip the concert and wait for another one, and choose to pry into this unwelcome addition to your tunnels. Investigating the blockade, you find that it isn't made of any special material, just good ol' fashioned wood and elbow grease. Surprisingly sturdy for not being stand constructed.
- Out of little regard or pure excitement for what danger may lie ahead, Dread and Jo tear past the blockade, much to half the teams chagrin, while ABBA and Hypiretes decide they may as well follow. Eventually, after a decent amount of tunnel exploration, the scouting team comes to a light at the end of the tunnel, and to their surprise, find a gladiator-esque fighting pit, complete with announcer, audience, and of course, gladiators.
- Upon seeing this, the four of you decide to form a sub-team huddle to decide your next action. You decide it best to wait for the other half to catch up before you proceed, despite the fun that awaits ahead.
- Shortly thereafter, the group unites, and a quick scan of the room indicated a few locations that give you some ideas about how to get information about this new place:
- >A. Mingle with the audience members to gather info stealthily.
- >B. Sneak into the elevated box to speak to the announcer.
- >C. Sneak around some more to find a hidden area.
- -----------------------------
- A - laverne, hyp, art, abba, dmitri
- B - dread, jo, nebula
- -----------------------------
- Laverne, Hypiretes, Art, ABBA, and Dmitri see the opportunity to head into the audience and eavesdrop for some information. Not much of what they have to say gives much information, but they do hear this conversation between a group of excited viewers:
- “This new installation is great! You can really feel the sweat and blood from the scrappers!”
- “Yeah. Too bad they’re still testing the waters with this new location. They aren’t risking bringing in the real shit until they know the location is secure. I hear they got a new shipment of scrappers that have some strange abilities, but of course The Boss managed to beat them into submission and add them to the roster.”
- “I can’t wait to see the new--”
- At that moment, an unidentified object lands near you and the people you were eavesdropping on. Looking at the origin, you see one of the gladiators grasping his arm, and you look down to see a severed hand at your feet.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Meanwhile, the remaining three members, Dread, Kimijo, and UltraNebula67 attempt to make their way up to the announcer to get some more pure information. Of course, there were guards, but to your surprise, they don’t have stands so you make quick work of them as you advance.
- As you wander the backstage of The Pit, you come across a room labelled “The Boss”. Further inspection of this door yields that is, of course, locked, but sufficient force may be able to break it open.
- GROUP B DECISION:
- >A. Continue to the announcer.
- >B. Break into The Boss’ room (Attempt to lockpick or break open door. if you choose to lockpick, explain how.)
- -----------------------------
- B: Nebula, Jo and Dread (melting the lock using a small patch of Dread's skin)
- -----------------------------
- Gulping in anticipation for what lies beyond, the group prepares for combat as Dread begins to melt the lock to The Boss’ door. Slowly, you creak open the door to find a room with nobody in it. Instead, the room is littered with merchandise of a fair-skinned woman with short black hair accentuated by a royal blue streak. Her right eye is silver, and her left eye is colored royal blue with a diagonal black stripe bisecting the iris. She wears a flashy black outfit spotted with blue acciaccatura. The letters TD/MD can be seen on some of the posters, and a calendar on the wall has today's date circled many times noting today’s concert.
- Inside his desk, more importantly, is a layout of the hideout, and notes on some of his observations of what you assume to be RED ORCA. He also talks about the new batch of “scrappers” he brought in and how this lot seemed to be a bunch of stand users new to the city and caught in the wrong crowd. After a little more digging, you come to the conclusion that the rest of his information would be hidden in a less recent location, and continue to the announcer.
- You and the Choice A Team notice each other, and you beckon them to the elevated walk en route to the announcer. After a decent amount of walking, and a few more suspicious guards dispatched, you make your way to the announcer as eight. You make it in, and the announcer turns to you as if expecting you.
- “Well, well. I heard of some trouble from one of the guards, but honestly, I’m just here to watch the fights, not take part in one. I’ll be willing to talk out whatever you want, to some extent, but the next fight starts soon, so I don’t have all the time in the world.”
- >A. Ask the announcer a question (3 max.)
- >B. Other (please specify.)
- -----------------------------
- Question 1: Who is the boss?
- -----------------------------
- "Heh heh, I can read you like a book. I knew that would be the first question you'd ask. Unfortunately for you, I put in a little qualifier: 'to some extent.' You couldn't do anything to me worse than The Boss would do if I told you, so I'll keep my lips shut."
- "You did see though, that he is a raging fan of TD/MD, which he doesn't hide very well. Some of the younger guards throw around the word 'simp,' but I don't care or know what that means. He's also the man who has the ability to make and hide these things, so I'll give you that little tidbit. That's all I'll spill."
- >A. Continue the questions (2 remaining)
- >B. Other (Please specify.)
- -----------------------------
- Question 2: if there are other locations, where are they?
- -----------------------------
- "So you wanna learn more about The Pits? I know a lot about where the locations are, but I'd rather be a little cryptic. These things are everywhere. You just gotta know where to look."
- He gestures over to the wall, where you notice a strange symbol.
- https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/705534862622457937/710747699464372274/20200515_025708.jpg?width=446&height=447
- "That there's the symbol for The Pits. You'll see them everywhere in the ED, but they're stylized for the individual Installation. See something like that, and you've got yourself a pit, but don't expect to see something identical."
- -----------------------------
- Question 3: Why is the fight club being hosted, is there more to it than just a "fun" event? @LogicBG
- -----------------------------
- "Well... Everyone's got their reasons. I'm in it for the money. You could probably guess 80% of people in this are in it for the money. The other 15% just fell in and are stuck here. The remaining 5... Those are people like The Boss. Rumor has it he just does this stuff to watch people beat the ever-loving shit out of each other. That's why these fights are nearly to the death."
- You hear a bell tolling, a signal for the next round of fights to begin.
- "Well, that's the bell, I've got work to do, so I'll have to ask you to leave."
- Upon his final word, your vision goes dark. Once you can see again, you find yourself back in the tunnels, but the entrance is no longer there. Further inspection of the wall where you found the entrance makes it seem as if it were never there. You check the time to see if you can maybe catch the tail end of the concert. 11pm. Unfortunately it seems it just ended. Better luck next time
- EVENT END.
