[21:28]Setoh Aliapoh sat. He sipped from his cup of watered wine. It was cold and refreshing, and he smacked his lips at the flavor. "Now", he said, "let's talk about that lance. Is that the only thing you know how to use?"
[21:29]Tahyu Mewrilah would shake her head. "Tahyu also know how to use bow."
[21:29]Shadiyah Amari squeezed Melfice's hands reassuringly in return before releasing them to wrap her arms around him in a brief and probably unexpected hug. "Yes... I would like that."
[21:30]Setoh Aliapoh: "Bow's good", he said. "Good from a distance. How good of a shot are you?"
[21:30]Tahyu Mewrilah would think a moment. "Good enough to take down large boar own own?"
[21:31]Setoh Aliapoh leaned across the table, lowering his voice. "What if you needed to take down that bartender over there? As close as he is now."
[21:31]Melfice Vainchelon had certainly not expected the display of affection from the woman, but he returned the gesture and wrapped his own about her much smaller frame. "Then consider it done. Now come, let us return home. I would like to get some rest--and I believe we have much to discuss."
[21:32]Tahyu Mewrilah gazes upon you in deep reflection.
[21:33]Tahyu Mewrilah speak quietly. "Tahyu might be able to shoot him... he get closer that be problem Tahyu likely need lance or hands..."

[21:33]Setoh Aliapoh: "Where's your bow now, Tahyu?"
[21:34]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Umm... at home... cause Tahyu bring lance... Tahyu also have boot knife in huntress gear..."
[21:35]Setoh Aliapoh looked over at the powerfully muscled bartender. "What would you say your chances were, if you had to go hand-to-hand with him? With just your boot knife - assuming you can unpack it in time?"
[21:35]Shadiyah Amari nodded him, releasing and stepping backward a few paces to allow him room to exit. She turned to make her leave with him, offering a sneer along the way as she noticed the nearby Miqo'te with a similar choice of clothing, or lack there of.
[21:36]Tahyu Mewrilah: "She seem to be in bad mood?"
[21:36]Tahyu Mewrilah would thing back to Setoh's question. "Hmm Tahyu likely not do well..."
[21:37]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu would likely run."
[21:38]Setoh Aliapoh shrugged. "Status is important in Ul'dah", he said. "I think she hears your accent and assumes you're an ignorant bumpkin from the Shroud." He shrugged. "But it's good to be underestimated. If the bartender underestimates you, what does that do to your chances?"
[21:38]Tahyu Mewrilah would tilt her head. "That give Tahyu chance to surprise so make Tahyu's chance better?"
[21:39]Setoh Aliapoh nodded, grinning. "And if he really does think you're a merchant princess? Would he think you were a threat at all?"
[21:40]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Hmm no... he think Tahyu something to stare at instead?"
[21:40]Setoh Aliapoh: "And what would that do to your chances?"
[21:41]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Hmm Tahyu think that give almost no chance of fail?"
[21:41]Setoh Aliapoh: "Could you pull off 'merchant princess' if you were carrying your bow? Or your lance?"
[21:41]Tahyu Mewrilah shakes her head. "That make Tahyu look like threat with weapon..."
[21:43]Setoh Aliapoh paused when their food was brought over: Platters of roasted meat on skewers, fresh vegetables in many forms, salads, tiny sweet cakes. He nodded thanks, waiting until the bartender left before continuing. "It's good to be able to fight with a weapon", he said softly. "But if you're going to be a Huntress, you've got to be able to do more than simply take out targets. You have to be able to identify them. Do you understand?"
[21:46]Tahyu Mewrilah would would like her lips a little as the food was placed out before them the smell filling her nostrils as she breathed in the aroma. She would then turn her attention back to Setoh. "Tahyu though Huntress hunt animals and protect clan from danger? There more to it then?"

[21:48]Setoh Aliapoh: "No, that's about it, really", he said, nodding. "There's a whole cultural part of it, too, but you'll have to learn that from other Huntresses. But here's the thing: How do you protect the clan from danger?"

[21:49]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Hmm treat threat like animal being hunted?"
[21:49]Setoh Aliapoh: "How do you hunt an animal?"
[21:50]Tahyu Mewrilah realised this would likely not do much good. "Hmm with patiences, stealth and preperation..."
[21:50]Tahyu Mewrilah: "That not work against person..."
[21:51]Setoh Aliapoh: "Good", he said, nodding. "Look at that bartender. Imagine he wanted to hurt the Clan. Imagine we were tipped off about this. How would we protect the clan from him?"
[21:51]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu would go over there and kill him now if that what he going to do?"
[21:52]Setoh Aliapoh: "But you said yourself, your chances wouldn't be good. How would it protect the clan if he killed you right here?"
[21:52]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu would have to pretend to be merchant princess?"
[21:53]Setoh Aliapoh nodded, smiling. "Then what could you do?"
[21:53]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Lure person into trap?"

[21:53]Tahyu Mewrilah would think a moment. "Tahyu use female looks?"
[21:54]Tahyu Mewrilah: "That seem to be a weakness for males."
[21:54]Setoh Aliapoh shrugged. "*Generally*, how would you do it? How would you know your female looks would work? Maybe he only likes Roegadyn. Maybe he only likes males."
[21:55]Tahyu Mewrilah would frown. "Tahyu not know..."
[21:55]Setoh Aliapoh: "Watch him", he said, picking up a skewer of meat.
[21:56]Tahyu Mewrilah would watch the bartender carefully looking for something as if expecting to see something.
[21:57]Setoh Aliapoh: "How long would you have to watch him to know him?"
[21:58]Tahyu Mewrilah would shrug a little. "Days?"
[21:59]Setoh Aliapoh shrugged. "Who knows. Maybe. But the point is, if you look like you do now, then you have the opportunity to do that. You can take your time. That's the patience part of hunting..."

[22:01]Setoh Aliapoh: "Once you know the man", he said, selecting a tiny tomato and popping it in his mouth, "then you know his habits. Where he goes after work. Where he lives. What he likes to do. Then you can set things up so that, when you fight him, it's on your terms. Then you can wait for him with a bow and a poisoned arrow. You understand?"
[22:02]Setoh Aliapoh: "Stealth and preparation, Tahyu. Stealth and preparation."
[22:03]Tahyu Mewrilah would nod as she finished of her meat skewer and took a sip of her water. "So huntress choose the hunting ground for prey?"
[22:04]Setoh Aliapoh: "Exactly", he said, nodding. "*And* you choose your prey. Who knows? Maybe he's not the real threat. But you'd have the time to find out. To set it all up."
[22:04]Setoh Aliapoh: "Remember", he said, grinning, "if you're ever in a fair fight? You've done something terribly wrong."

[22:06]Setoh Aliapoh: "I don't use a lance", he said, grinning at her. "I don't really use a bow much, either. You'll get other teachers for those. But what I can teach you is everything that happens before you release that arrow."
[22:07]Tahyu Mewrilah would nod. "Tahyu already have teacher for Bow, that be Rhe... Tahyu have one for lance though Tahyu not sure if he going to continue or not...."
[22:07]Tahyu Mewrilah: "He tell Tahyu to focus only on spear and nothing else..."
[22:09]Setoh Aliapoh laughed, shaking his head. "Sounds like a typical soldier", he said. He pitched his voice low, a characture of a man. "'I shall follow all the orders of my Matron, and think of nothing but thrusting my lance into the tender, yielding flesh of my targets. Oooooh, that makes me feel all tingley!'" He grinned at her.
[22:09]Setoh Aliapoh: "A Huntress isn't a soldier, Tahyu. You can't afford to do just one thing."
[22:10]Tahyu Mewrilah would think a moment. "Nhagi threaten to stop teaching me if I don't... Tahyu guess she could practice lance on own..."
[22:10]Setoh Aliapoh frowned. "Nhagi? You mean our ex-prisoner, Nhagi?"
[22:11]Tahyu Mewrilah would nod slowly. "He got Matron's permission to teach Tahyu spear... but Tahyu not agree with one teach or giving up bow and other things for spear alone..."

[22:13]Tahyu Mewrilah: "So he likely not teach Tahyu anymore..."
[22:13]Setoh Aliapoh shrugged again. "Be careful around him", he said. "He's already hurt Teri. I don't think he's our friend..."

[22:14]Setoh Aliapoh nodded. "Tried to rape her, I think", he said. "But the Matron wants him free, for whatever reason..."
[22:15]Tahyu Mewrilah now seemed confused. "Tahyu though she good judge of person... Tahyu not apperantly.... Tahyu especially not like that Zula seeker the Matron saw last night..."
[22:16]Setoh Aliapoh rolled his eyes. "Most Seekers are fools", he said.
[22:16]Setoh Aliapoh leaned across the table, grinning wickedly at Tahyu. "You know who's a really good judge of character?"
[22:17]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu will be careful around Nhagi... thankfully Tahyu know she can knock Nhagi to the ground and land hits on him. But he likely no longer teach Tahyu anyways..."
[22:18]Setoh Aliapoh: "If you can knock him down", he said, "maybe he's not the teacher for you, anyways."
[22:18]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Maybe, Tahyu just wanted to learn so she become stronger... Tahyu will be strongest huntress of clan..."
[22:19]Setoh Aliapoh: "Tahyu? Just what sort of Huntress do you want to become?"
[22:19]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu want to be Huntress that can protect family and make sure they never get hurt."
[22:22]Setoh Aliapoh: "Not a bad goal", he said. "But back to the issue of judging character. I think you need to learn that, Tahyu. So you can help identify who's a threat to the clan."
[22:23]Tahyu Mewrilah would nod. "Tahyu wish to learn, Tahyu want to make sure she strongest so she make sure nothing happen to family."
[22:24]Tahyu Mewrilah plate was now clean of everything but the sweet cake, she would eye it a little and poke it with a finger a couple times.
[22:24]Setoh Aliapoh: "Then I'll keep teaching you", he said, sipping his wine. "Eat that", he grinned. "I think you'll like it. You want gahveh with it? It's traditional..."
[22:25]Tahyu Mewrilah: "A what with it?"
[22:26]Setoh Aliapoh gestured for the bartender, holding up his fingers very close together and mouthing 'gahveh', then holding up two fingers. He grinned at her. "You'll see", he said. "Anyways, you should talk to Venus. She's a really good judge of character. You could learn a lot from her."
[22:27]Tahyu Mewrilah would think a moment. "She always seem to busy to talk with Tahyu or just not want to take with Tahyu...."
[22:28]Setoh Aliapoh: "Venus is a little like gahveh", he said. "It takes some effort to get past her armor, but it's worth it."
[22:29]Tahyu Mewrilah tilted her her head raising an eyebrow. "Hmm, Tahyu will try... maybe Setoh help Tahyu get chance to speak with Venus?"
[22:29]Tahyu Mewrilah: "Tahyu willing to help Venus with huntress things too..."
[22:30]Setoh Aliapoh grinned, nodding. "Sure", he said. "Absolutely. Ah!" He grinned as the bartender brought out two tiny cups of steaming, black, bitter hot gahveh. "Put some of that sugar in it", he said. "Then have a nibble of the cake and a sip of the gahveh..."
[22:31]Tahyu Mewrilah would looks at the cup oddly before putting in the the sugar, she blow on the top before taking a small bite of the cake and chased it with a sip of the gahveh. "Hmm that interesting taste.... Tahyu not mind it..." she would take another bite and sip.
[22:34]Setoh Aliapoh: "I have homework for you", he said, smirking. "Sort of a before-and-after. I want you to take a look at everyone, and try to decide if they're a threat to the clan. Alright? Then, after Venus teaches you for a while, you'll do it again."
[22:49]Tahyu Mewrilah: "So Tahyu will also seek Venus to teach Tahyu. Then when Tahyu can judge acurately Tahyu start looking at people that come into home or around it?"
[22:50]Setoh Aliapoh nodded. "Exactly", he said. "That way you can advise the Matron. You can be more than just a bow or a lance on legs."
[22:51]Tahyu Mewrilah frowns slightly. "Matron not listen to what Tahyu say..."
[22:51]Setoh Aliapoh: "You know why?"
[22:51]Tahyu Mewrilah shakes her head.
[22:52]Setoh Aliapoh: "She's your first, then", he said. "Tell me about the Matron. Do you think she's a threat to the clan?"
[22:55]Tahyu Mewrilah would think a moment before nodding. "Tahyu currently think she is a threat to clan..."
[22:56]Setoh Aliapoh raised an eyebrow, his gahveh cup in his hand. "Why?"
[22:58]Tahyu Mewrilah: "She go against the very things she say and do them... She sometimes seem to let emotions get better of her like Tahyu does... Nhagi dangerous... Tahyu know that much and if people do say he is a danger yet she allow him to stay cause of feelings this put rest of clan in danger."
