  1. Ten years.
  2. It’s been ten years since this all started, at least in Foodcourtia time. In like normal time or Earth time it had only been two weeks. Time warps worked weirdly and Sizz-Lorr wasn’t a scientist by any means. He only knew the shows he typically watched were shown in slow motion and by the time he left for work and returned home he didn’t miss anything. Despite being in the middle of a Great Foodening things were going extremely well for him, well with the exception of Zim. Zim looked for every excuse to “cut meat” in the back freezer. Sizz-Lorr indulged him at first. Plans backfired on him all the time. He learned to be used to it and just pick up any positives he could on the way, which in this case was a warm hole to put his dick in and time spent away from customers. Things were great, then they went down to good, and now they’re just okay. Sizz-Lorr did enjoy it in the moment, so did Zim, but he couldn’t keep up anymore. Having sex everyday took it’s toll. Customers weren’t being served, the other two employees would get mad that they never got to cut meat in the back, and now that Sizz-Lorr had his fill he wasn’t feeling it as much anymore. He just wanted to sit in front of the television and watch his soap operas at a frame a minute. He didn’t want to hurt Zim. He had come to not hate him over the years, but something had to be done and it wasn’t going to go well.
  3. Sizz-Lorr woke up early in the morning, making sure not to wake the sleeping Zim beside him. Once again he wondered why Zim only wanted sex in the restaurant, probably to avoid customers or maybe he had a thing for doing it in public. He had an extra thirty minutes to himself to set up the security barricades he had installed specifically for Zim. The plan was bulletproof. Zim would walk into the restaurant and then would be stuck there, leaving Sizz-Lorr free to explain how he wanted to take a small break from “cutting meat”. If Zim tried to do anything stupid it would be contained within the restaurant. Sizz-Lorr kissed Zim goodbye before heading out the door and turned off his alarm.
  4. Zim woke up midday. He reached for Sizz-Lorr but only found cold bed sheets. He looked at the clock, noticing he was over three hours late for work. In a panic, Zim cursed his alarm, hurriedly brushed his teeth, and put on his uniform. Then he began eating breakfast, completely forgetting how late he was. When Zim finally left he was closer to four hours late. The typical foot traffic was especially horrendous at this hour. Work was only ten blocks away but with the amount of people in the way walking could take an hour and a half. Zim used his pak to climb on buildings, sometimes even other creatures, in order to avoid waiting. It still took him longer amount of time than typical to clock in. He looked at the schedule, then at the clock, and saw he only had six hours left until his shift ended. He shouted “Another victory for Zim!”, before taking his scheduled break.
  5. Sizz-Lorr didn’t have to fake rage at Zim like he thought he would. Instead it came back like an old friend. He could excuse Zim being late for work, after all he was the one that made sure he could be late. Still to see Zim walk in, go clock in, and then immediately go to the back of the ordering line was too much. It was absolutely inexcusable. When Zim finally got to the front of the line he gave his usual order of large fries. Sizz-Lorr would have shouted if he could unclench his jaw and stop grinding his teeth. He did nothing but stare. Zim just stared back, waiting for the order to be complete. He broke the silence when he looked at the clock again.
  6. “Could you hurry it up? I’ve been waiting in the line for ten minutes and my break is almost over. I can’t have you doing nothing. Could you also do mine before everyone else’s? By the time it’s made I won’t be able to eat it.”
  7. A few other people behind Zim began to complain about the wait as well. Sizz-Lorr put in the order under Zim’s name, his hands shaking the entire time. When it was finally entered Zim’s break had already ended. He looked annoyed and said insults below his breath and walked to the back. He was even more annoyed when the first order he had to make was his own.
  8. “How come I have to work in these conditions? I’m an invader you know. I should be on Urth invading, not here making my own fries. I have to work ten hours today. This is inexcusable.” Zim muttered to himself.
  9. “You only have to work six hours today and it’s more like five because you already came in late, taken one break, you still have lunch to take, an another break after that. Sizz-Lorr shouted, behind the cashier.
  10. “Oh yeah. That’s right. Another victory for Zim!”
  11. “We’ll see how well this victory goes when we have a talk at closing time tonight.” Sizz-Lorr said to himself.
  12. Closing time came soon enough for Sizz-Lorr. He had already made all of the proper arrangements with the force field and he’d even gotten a blanket and pillow for Zim if he had to stay the night in the restaurant. He waited just outside the barrier and watched as Zim cleaned the counters and table. When Zim was finally done he came running towards Sizz-Lorr, happy work was over and excited to watch another sixty frames of television before going to bed. Right now the show they we’re watching had a woman walking across the parking lot. The past weeks had been rife with arguments as to what was at the other side. Sizz-Lorr insisted she was walking to her car. Zim made a good counterargument she was actually walking to the grocery store. Tonight was supposed to be a thrilling conclusion to the “Parking Lot Saga” and Zim didn’t want to miss it. Just as he was about to leave the premises Sizz-Lorr pushed him back into the restaurant. Zim attempted to leave again, and this time Sizz-Lorr threw the pillow at him with such force it knocked him down. Zim tried a third time, Sizz-Lorr wrapped the blanket around him and threw him behind the counter.
  13. “Zim we need to talk. I know the past ten years had been great for both of us, but I can’t do this anymore. We gotta take a break and slow down. The other two employees are becoming suspicious of us, and honestly I can’t keep up with you. You want it every day and I liked that at the beginning. Now I’m finding it annoying and miss when we were enemies. So I’ve reinstalled the security system, just like old times, if you try to walk out of here then you’ll expand until you blow up.” Upon hearing this Zim’s face became red. His eyes turned into slits, and he showed teeth. It was obvious to anyone who could see that Zim was primed for attack. “I’m gonna be leaving now. I’m gonna let you cool down since you’re obviously angry. I’ll tell you what was on the other side of the parking lot first thing tomorrow though so look forward to that!” Sizz-Lorr quickly walked away, ignoring the waves of anger being targeted to him.
  14. Zim sat stewing behind the counter. “How dare Sizz-Lorr decide to break up with me, the greatest invader in all of the Irken empire? Surely he realizes my greatness. Why else would he spend every waking and sleeping moment with me?” he thought “He didn’t even give me the good pillow or blanket. At least he’ll tell me I’m right about the parking lot first thing in the morning.” He set up bed at table six and went to sleep.
  15. The night was uncomfortable for Sizz-Lorr to say the least. He had hoped the quiet peace of being alone would be welcoming. He just sat at the table thinking about Zim stuck in the restaurant with pure malice etched into his face. Maybe it was wrong to put up the barrier before he had explained everything. He could have been mad about being trapped and not about the whole let’s take a break thing. Sizz-Lorr sat and thought about it some more, becoming more and more fixated on every problem he created. He was the one that made the first move after all. He also invited Zim to live with him after he found out Zim lived in the dumpster behind the restaurant one night while taking out the trash. Zim never made the first move it was always Sizz-Lorr, so in a way this entire situation was his fault. Sizz-Lorr turned on the television hoping that watching the woman walk across the parking lot would cheer him up. It didn’t help his mood until he saw a grocery store appear on the frame. He realized he was wrong, wrong about the woman’s destination, and wrong about how he treated Zim. He would go to the restaurant, let Zim out, and then make him a make up dinner.
  16. Zim woke up to the sound of heavy footsteps outside the door. He fully expected a robber and grabbed the nearest plastic forks as weapons. He hid under the table furthest from the door. What he saw when the door opened was much worse. It was Sizz-Lorr. He had decided to come and gloat about how he was right about the parking lot lady no doubt. Zim wasn’t going to have it. He let Sizz-Lorr walk two feet away from the table, before he sprung like a broken spring directly to the face. He could almost feel the blood running through his fingers when he jumped. At the same time the ceiling broke open with a loud crash. Zim floated suspended in air, forks wildly scratching at air, grazing Sizz-Lorr’s face. He was trapped in an anti-gravity beam. Someone was kidnapping him right in front of Sizz-Lorr. After seeing the intent of dismemberment on Zim he decided it would be best if the parted ways for now. He could do without losing his face. Zim slowly rose up into the irken ship, which disappeared in a bright flash.
  17.
  18. Skoodge never felt prouder when he escaped Foodcourtia with Zim in the passenger seat. All it took was building a teleporter that didn’t disintegrate the ship upon using. He looked at Zim for approval for the daring rescue against that tall, wide, monster in the restaurant. Zim didn’t look pleased. Not at all, in fact he looked even angrier than before.
  19. “What have you done!?” he shouted. “I had him right where I wanted and you had to go and drag me away right before I tore his face off.”
  20. Skoodge shifted in his seat uncomfortably. He didn’t know how well the monster could have fought, but from sheer size alone Zim was at a markedly huge disadvantage.
  21. “Zim would you want me to teleport back? It wouldn’t be too troublesome for me to do and you could finish him like you wanted to.” Skoodge was impressed by how well his voice didn’t reflect his doubts about the outcome of the battle.
  22. “No matter! I can finally go home and begin my invasion of Urth now that you’ve finally brought me my ship. What took you so long anyway? I sent the transmission a long time ago.”
  23. “No you didn’t. I reali-”
  24. “Yes I did.”
  25. “No I learned fro-”
  26. “It does not matter now! I’m having you drive me back to Urth so I can properly invade it without distractions.”
  27. “So you learned a lot on your reconnaissance mission then?”
  28. “My wha- Oh yes! My reconnaissance mission yes I did.”
  29. “Well if you need any help.” Skoodge shyly offered.
  30. “Me! Help!? Nonsense! The great Zim needs no help!”
  31. Skoodge saw the confidence beaming from Zim. As they traveled across the galaxy Skoodge thought of ways he could become as confident as him. When he got back to Earth he decided there was nothing he could do for now. He could only hope some of it would transfer to him if he stayed close enough.
