Alexithymiaa: -Steph was sitting on the floor upstairs with Alex as they worked on the song she'd set out to write with his help. It had been a rather emotional topic for her so most of their writing process up until this point had caused the ups and downs of her breaking into tears. Staring down into the notebook that was a mix of both their handwriting, she very softly sang the first verse of the song. "People think I look crazy picking fights with the clear blue wall. Hard to reach you lately, straining my neck just to talk. You got caught in the hunger and I know it was chemical. Didn't plan to go under, but I took it personal." // Alex was sitting with his back pressed against the railing, an acoustic guitar in his lap as he looked between the guitar strings and the notebook in front of them. His fingers pressed into the frets, strumming the notes they'd come to for the song in time with her singing.-
Covet: Felix was out back vaping, giving Alex and Steph their space to do their thing. As much as he wanted to listen in, he didn't want to intrude on their artistic vision. So he'd been busying himself about the house with his hearing aid turned down because he can do that. He'd taken the dogs for a walk, and taken out the trash, did some dishes, etc. He was out back while the dogs were taking a potty break. When he was done he came in the house via the bedroom, and stashed his vape in his hidey spot. Still smelling like sweedish fish, he made his way into the living room, because now it was snack time.
Alexithymiaa: -She started to move toward the chorus and her singing voice had slowly transitioned into a sort of strangled singing and talking voice that was just pushing the lyrics out. "When you let those blue eyes turn grey, I took it personal. When you took my hereo away, death isn't personal. I scream at your ghost when I miss you the most. I'll lace up my armor and fight for us both. Finish what you started and crown your stone." Toward the end of the chorus, she started to get choked up again, eventually just bursting into hysterical tears. // Alex paused in his playing because what the fuck else was he supposed to do. Shifting the guitar out of his lap, he leaned over and pulled Steph into a tight hug which he'd probably done several times since they started writing, rubbing his hand over her back silently.-
Covet: Felix hadn't checked in on Steph and Alex in a while, and turned his hearing aid back up so he could call out to them. "Hey, I'm working on snackage, do you guys want anything?" He called out then listened hearing Steph crying. He closed the fridge and made his way over to the stairs to head up them, Once at the top he spoke out. "Is everything alright up here?"
Alexithymiaa: -She leaned into Alex to sob into the shoulder of his hoodie, clinging onto him as she just continued to cry her eyes out. // Alex didn't move when Felix called up the stairs to them, just keeping hold of Steph since she clearly needed it right at the moment. When he saw Felix's face out of the corner of his eye coming up the stairs, he pulled one hand off Steph's back and sort of just gestured awkwardly to her behind her back. "We're uh... you know... practicing... and it's tough...."-
Covet: "Oh, I see." Felix said, with a nod of his head. "Do you need me to step in as a tear catcher? Or I could get some water if you guys need a break?" He offered.
Alexithymiaa: "Yes, very good idea. How about we trade and I'll go get the water?" He asked, kind of jumping at the chance because he'd been trying to make her feel better through the whole process and he was running out of words. He gently pulled her back by the shoulders, trying to nudge her toward Felix. // Steph eased off of Alex, moving her hands to her face to wipe at her tears and her glasses and smudging her make up and she was just a hot mess..-
Covet: Felix nodded his head and walked over, moving in to take Alex's spot. He wrapped his arms around Steph and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "You sure you're not pushing too hard here?" He asked her, kind of rocking in place.
Alexithymiaa: -Alex slipped away, quickly heading down the stairs to the kitchen so he could get a few bottles of water for them. // She leaned into Felix and wrapped her arms around him, shaking her head as she tried to talk through her sobs. "This is important... to me. I have to."-
Covet: "I know, but You look like you've been at this all day, no need to overwork yourself if this is the state you're going to be putting yourself into."
Alexithymiaa: "We only have so much time to get it done while he's here..." She said in a small voice, pulling away and wiping her hands over her face again. "It just has to be perfect. For her."-
Covet: "I get that. But wouldn't it be better to try and schedule a second session, if you want it to be perfect. We can fly out to meet up with Alex somewhere if he gets a free moment." He offered to her. "You're amazing for trying to take this on all in one go, but I think you need to take a break."
Alexithymiaa: -She hiccuped a few times as she tried to control her sobs. "They're touring soon...." She sniffled hard, looking down at her hands. "I guess we can take a break... I was supposed to send a video to the Kittens, but I haven't been able to get through it."-
Covet: He held her close, shushing her as he kissed the top of her head again. " So, We could go see them on tour." He told her. "And the kittens will understand. So don't sweat it Red. You've got to take care of you first."
Alexithymiaa: "I know...." She trailed off, leaning into him again for comfort. "I've written a lot of things that mean a lot to me, but I've never written anything like this before." // Alex started back up the stairs with a few bottles of water, setting them down on the floor next to them and taking a seat again. "How are we doing?"-
Covet: "I can tell, I don't think I've ever seen you this worked up over a song before." He said rubbing her back. As Alex came back up the stairs he spoke up. "I think she's going to be taking a bit of a break. I know you guys were hoping to have it finished, but it's going to be hard when she's in a state like this."
Alexithymiaa: "Because this was her life. It's sort of mine.... or it could have been. Could be. I don't know..." She said with a disappointed sigh, glancing at Alex. "A little better. Thank you." She reached for one of the bottles of water, taking a small sip. // "Hey, take all the time you need. I won't leave until we have it exactly the way you want it to be." He took one of the waters for himself, taking a long drink. "Lisa's doing a client all weekend and who knows when she's going to be back so it's not like I have anyone looking for me."-
Covet: "It's not your life at all, at least not while I'm here. " He told stepf then looked at Alex. "You're can stay longer? That's great. See." He said giving Steph a hug. "I appreciate you sticking through with her on this."
Covet: *you're staying longer
Alexithymiaa: "Are you going somewhere?" She asked him with a faint hint of a smile, a little amused with her own joke. She leaned into him, facing Alex. "You're the best. I felt kind of bad asking for your help because I know you've been really busy with your side project and you guys are touring soon. It means a lot to me you're taking the time to come out here." // Alex smiled, giving a nod. "Of course, what are friends for if not this? And I'm never too busy for friends. We make it work." He took another sip of his water, looking at the two of them. "Have you done any of your own wedding planning yet? Lisa was asking me."-
CovetCovet : "Nope, not any time soon at least." He said with a smirk. "Cept maybe the bathroom here in a bit." Felix said with a shrug, then smiled. "Yeah we've done a little bit. We've kind of been out and about looking for the perfect venue spot."
Alexithymiaa: "Just a little, though. We kind of figured we needed to start with locking down a venue before continuing on with anything else. If Lisa has any advice though, we'd gladly accept it." // "Oh yeah? What did you have in mind? I can ask her if she knows anyone out here that might be able to help with the more local stuff. She did want me to tell you there's a bridal shop in LA that she loves and she thinks you should take a trip out there to look for your dress.'-
Covet: "We're looking for something a little more vintage, kind of country esque?" Felix said. "We've been walking along the coast searching." He added
Alexithymiaa: "Definitely something more vintage." She said with a nod, moving her hand to rub at her burning eyes some more since she definitely cried make up into them. "Well if I look for a dress in LA, that means I need to fly the entourage out with me so I don't know how realistic that will be, but I'll keep it in mind." // "Hey, I'm just here to pass along whatever she tells me." He said with a shrug. "Am I going to be invited? Do I get to come?" He started to laugh.-
Covet: "We could go do guy things in LA while they go do the girlie shopping thing." Felix suggested because he didn't care about the dress so long as it looked good on her and it was easy to take off.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but what about Cadence? I don't know if she'll want to fly being pregnant and all. And mom? It just seems like a lot of extra work when I'm sure I can find a dress here that is perfectly suitable for me." She shrugged, looking at Alex. "Of course you're invited. All of you guys are invited." // "Suitable?" He asked, raising his brows. "I don't think I've ever heard a chick describe their wedding dress as suitable, but whatever makes you happy." He paused, thinking about what they could go in LA. "There's this pretty sweet bar Jack and I like. We could go there if you come out."-
Covet: "If you guys were to go now, I'm sure she'd be okay. She and Remy were flying out to Jersey when she was halfway to popping with Trick." He said so eloquently. "I don't really drink, but I don't mind the vibe of the place if there's pool and good music?"
Alexithymiaa: "I guess. I just don't know when we'd be able to get out there. I just think it would be easier to do it here when it's convenient for everyone." She said with a shrug. "A bar? Really? There's no other better place you guys can go? And I'm almost inclined to insist you go out to chill even if I don't." // "There's no pool, but there is a bull. It's completely hilarious to watch tourists get shit faced and try to ride the bull. We're usually in tears watching people." He said, starting to crack up as he thought about it. "Even if Steph doesn't come out, it'd be cool to hang for a weekend."-
Covet: "Are you sure? It'd be weird not having you at least close by. But if you insist, I'd love to come hang out, at the very least you'll have a sober guy to record the crazy shenanigans." Felix said with a chuckle.
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, maybe. It depends what's going on. Worst case scenario I can just bring my work with me and while you guys go out and do your boys night, I'll write and work in the hotel." She said casually with a shrug, rubbing again at her eyes and yawning. // "Then it's a plan. It's perfect." Alex said with a smirk, excited for this. "Why don't I head out and I can come back in the morning and we can get some more work done?" He said, starting to stand up and grab his jacket.-
Covet: "Sounds good. I'll make sure she gets some good rest tonight, that way you can start bright and early." Felix said nudging at Steph to get up. "C'mon you. We're taking a nice warm relaxing bath together before bedtime." He said.
Alexithymiaa: -She pushed to get herself up, leaning over to hug Alex. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Thank you." She said to him before offering Felix a hand to help him up so they could go bath. // Alex hugged Steph back, waving to Felix and letting himself out to go head back to his hotel.-
Covet: Felix got up and made his way downstairs with Steph for the cozy comforting bath things.
