     Yeah, get ready for the flippiest coin I’ve ever had the misfortune of flipping, Oricorio, Lilligant, and Torkoal. What kind of cheeseball goes into a regional and brings Oricorio? The kind of cheeseball who wants to give me the second heart attack of day. The thing about Lilligant and Torkoal is that there is nothing you can do about the Torkoal that’s switching into Lele and the incoming sleep powder on your Arcanine. You sort of just have to hope that it misses or you get low sleep turns. That’s what is so frustrating about it, it’s ridiculously uncompetitive and unreliable but people run it knowing that it can be an easy way to cheese in to top cut.

     After I got annihilated in game 1 by an after you focus punch combination from Lilligant and Buzzwole that sent my Snorlax into the stratosphere, it was time to regroup. I learned that his Lilligant didn’t have protect, which made the game so much easier. The thing with these types of teams is once the Lilligant goes down, the game is over. What is that slow turtle (Torkoal) going to do to you without Lilligant? What is Buzzwole going to do to you with Focus Punch? Nothing but lose its concentration when I Double Edge it with Snorlax. The next two games I was able to get rid of Lilligant early and win the game. Game 3 basically came down to a turn one sleep powder. I lead Arcanine Snorlax into Lilligant and Torkoal, oh wow, what a surprise. He makes the most predictable ever switch into his Tapu Lele and goes for sleep powder into Arcanine. This time I make the correct play and protect Arcanine and Double Edge the Lilligant putting it very low so I can just take it out the next turn. I switched Arcanine into Tapu Fini to make sure none of that sleep garbage is happening anymore. I take out the Lilligant and the game is basically over from there.

     The Arcanine lead puts on so much pressure against Torkoal Lilligant users that they are forced to Sleep Powder the Arcanine, so use that to your advantage at all cost. He felt bad that he Sleep Powdered into that protect, but he felt comfortable doing it considering I didn’t protect it at all in the first two games. So now I am 4-0 and stressed beyond belief because I actually made it out of dancer cancer with a win. Round 5 I’m up against Terry from California who just so happened to be running a very similar team to mine
