Kaizo Mario World 2 FAQ

Q: What.
A: It's the sequel to a pretty famous Super Mario World romhack.

Q: I know what Kaizo Mario is, but why are you doing this? Isn't it an impossibly hard joke game?
A: I used to think so too! Then I tried the first one on a whim and when I eventually got used to SMW controls and physics, it wasn't impossibly hard anymore and I found it's not a joke at all. Kaizo's level design is superb and I'd actually pick the conveyor stage in the original Kaizo as my favourite stage in any game ( https://youtu.be/zkMuNRjodCQ?t=975 ).

Q: What's even fun about save stating through a bunch of hard tricks?
A: You aren't meant to abuse save states!

Q: But I just saw you load one!
A: I do a save every time I enter a stage from the overworld, then load it when I die. Using an infinite lives code is customary anyway so all this does is save time between attempts.

Q: You mentioned playing the original one?
A: I played it casually in 2013 the same way I'm playing Kaizo 2 now and beat Bowser. Didn't make any serious effort at the special stages, because those are way harder. Not a little bit harder but actually completely insanely hard.

Q: Is this a blind run?
A: Mostly, but given the nature of the game I refer to the original videos ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaOjfsthY6Q&list=PL0B2DB30996951E4C ) or Dram's speedrun ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHs5Ub08NLA ) with impunity. Even stage 1 required knowing a couple of quirks of SMW physics and enemy behaviour which could have left me guessing for ages.

Q: Are you going to play all the way through?
A: Until I either beat Bowser or ragequit, whichever happens first. The levels past Bowser look like Kaizo 1's special stages and I'm not going to even try.
