  3. Gotta hand it to these guys though, they put up a good fight, but didn't really cut through.
  4. This is Wargroove, not advance wars, not Battalion Wars. This is how Wargroove wants you to play, and unfortunately instead of accepting a different playstyle, they want something that makes more sense to them based on their previous experiences. [/quote]
  5. So I don't want to try something new? Sorry, but I helped balanced Shattered Throne.

  8. Also, if your "try new stuff" argument isn't hypocritical anyway, then here's my question: where's the love letter to games like Game Boy Wars 3? Because people are already complaining about Wargroove being discount Advance Wars 1, 18 years after that game was already made in fact. If you think otherwise, then please tell us what is defying that point. Fog of War doesn't have Days of Ruin's persistent Vision mechanic, the tutorial has forced movement that gets as asinine as making the player do suboptimal movement, there's only regard to speed at any cost for ranking, there's no mid-level saving ability for anybody not interested in doing a single segment run YouTube video, the balance makes the same mistakes as the AWs and somehow aggravates them, and of course, the units are just Expies of the AW1 units, with Critical Hits being used to detract from simplicity rather than involve some freaking mnemonics and sensible gameplay.

  10. It's not like Game Boy Wars 3 was short on good ideas, as I outlined in the latter part of this:

  13. You know something else? Chucklefish had posted a topic on the Advance Wars subreddit back in June 2017 looking for playtesters. The pooled resources have had a year and a half to call out problems. Instead, they choose to not only make the same mistakes the AWs have been doing, but also make them WORSE, while claiming some obscure units were going to handle obvious balance issues (hint: they don't--they don't even come close), and not even care about any history lessons or potential ideas for a sense of structure without stagnation. Shattered Throne's creator, by contrast, had posted a year before releasing HIS game, getting already actively hostile responses on HIS thread at that limiting any chance that Shattered Throne could possibly avoid being DOA, and still did plenty of fresh, new, and still simple enough stuff.

  15. Your "defense" just screams more of the popular opinion and hype train surrounding a game that has even been quickly reported to be bugged, never mind more flash than substance.
