Calling something you disagree with a "logical fallacy" *doesn't make it so*. _Good grief_.



*This is the second time you have said _"it's possible"_ with regard to "Stephen Hawking" keeping up with a complex discipline despite having "ALS"*.



So I must now ask you to explain how being unable to move any muscles - i.e., not being able to draw squiggles on paper, not being able to open up books, journals and magazines to read them and operate computers etc. *IS NOT* an impediment to remaining on top of a field.



Since I know you cannot answer without sounding like a complete *fantasist* let me simply ask: *Can you name ANYONE ELSE who is an "expert in a discipline of science" who is also in an equivalent situation to "Stephen Hawking"?*



Can you name someone or is the only name that comes to mind "Stephen Hawking"?



For you appear to be suggesting that people who have *no use of their muscles* are just *lazy scumbags* who sit around all day leeching off society and their "helpers" when really they could be contributing instead. Just like how you imagine "Stephen Hawking" does.

He thinks cosmology is "that easy" to stay on top of!




*Clinical Notes:* When these people simply respond with "yes" or "it's possible" and can give *no reasonable and rational justification* for their position it is an expression of *anguished denial*.




They simply *cannot justify their position* _yet cannot allow themselves to let go of it, either_.




They are frozen in an awkward situation.




My prediction is that the gentleman will make no effort to explain how "Stephen Hawking" *is not* being prevented from staying on top of his field. Any effort to do so would make it obvious *to himself* that he is having to defend a really bad idea (which is always a bad idea).




No meaningful progress can be made with those who are in this kind of *wilful/active denial*.
