Reasoning: With the latest string of deaths shaking Oasis to the core, such as Charles and Amadour's, Salt set out in order to prepare for the upcoming battles to come. He dedicates his time to training the youths within the city, accompanied with furthering his own skills, for that matter. After having an intense bout with Seishiro, he had been defeated by the Jagan-eye user. Some time after, he's nearly defeated by a child, which naturally isn't something to glaze over. It's concerning to the Makyo to say the least, and having to use all of his force to battle on even terms with a child is certainly laughable.
