Soul-Link

I have a new idea for a mechanic for Gen 9. It's called Soul-Link, and it's basically a fusion of Mega Evolution and the Ash-Greninja transformation. The Pokemon that the trainer treats really well in the game becomes the Pokemon that they bond with. When the Pokemon is on low hp, the trainer can fuse with that Pokemon and tap into destructive power that has never been seen before. However, there is a cost to Soul-Linking. Like in the XY anime, if you push the Pokemon too hard, the Soul-Link could break and the Pokemon loses all of its affection for you. The Pokemon also faints if the Soul-Link is broken. When you perform a Soul-Link, a meter will appear by the Pokemon. If this meter becomes full, then you are pushing your Pokemon too hard and a Link Shatter (Soul-Link breaks) will occur. Lastly, you can only perform a Soul-Link on one specific Pokemon, so be sure to choose carefully.
