- 01[20:54] <SpaceThor> Ashildr: You've got some time to yourself after the group returns from the archive. A lot of things happened, but given that you don't feel physical exhaustion anymore, you could do some other things.
- [21:12] <Nemi> * Indeed. That's one nicety- she has infinite time and infinite ability to keep going. First on her mind, as she secrets that ring of Kjell's away? There was the concern of that rogue necromancy..
- [21:12] <Nemi> * .. And where better to start than by asking the eyes-and-ears whom miss nothing, the Crooligans? And so, the blood-haired Draugr throws her coat on and stalks outside, ducking under the doorframe to her little self-made home to emerge into Mold Hill proper. They shouldn't be too h ard to find...
- 01[21:14] <SpaceThor> Robin and Stones are out there, the two boys pushing dirt around just off the square.
- [21:18] <Nemi> * Ashildr ambles on toward them, casual inasmuch as she can be given her size. "Boys," she says by way of greeting them both.
- 01[21:19] <SpaceThor> Robin stands up as you approach, while Stones just gives you a look of boredom over his bandanna mask. "What do you need, Miss Ash?" Robin asks.
- [21:28] <Nemi> * And Ash is.. Blunt, as she usually is. "I'm looking for an abstract beast of flesh and metal. Have you seen it recently?"
- 01[21:29] <SpaceThor> Robin looks confused. "What's an abstract beast look like?"
- [21:30] <Nemi> Ashildr pauses. "As if someone took a lion, a bird, and a goat and stitched them all together, with a serpent for the tail. And then they animated it."
- [21:30] <Nemi> "A beast of spare parts."
- 01[21:31] <SpaceThor> "Oh, Mr. Fluffy! I seen it, yeah." Stones moves to interrupt Robin. "Yeah, we seen it, but what's the toll gonna be for us helpin ya out like this? Info don't come cheap ya know."
- [21:33] <Nemi> Mr. Fluffy? Interesting name.. "I'll bring you a souvenir from one of my next trips out." Ash grins her usual grin. Knowing that most of the time she'd be coming back utterly caked in blood and gore, she's usually bringing back something *fun*.
- 01[21:34] <SpaceThor> "Well...alright, but it better be something good!"
- 01[21:34] <SpaceThor> "Follow us, we both seen it, but this one here was too scared to follow it back to its hideout with me." Robin looks wounded. "You said you wouldn't tell anyone that!"
- [21:35] <Nemi> "I always bring back something good- and that may not be cowardice. That may be wisdom and knowning your ability. Show me?"
- 01[21:36] <SpaceThor> Stones grabs his slingshot from the dirt and starts moving rapidly to the south of Mold Hill, Robin following him close behind.
- [21:38] <Nemi> Ash stalks onward afterwards!
- 01[21:40] <SpaceThor> They eventually come to a halt several blocks away from Mold Hill, outside a huge building. "In there, basement of the old factory. That's where it's got its nest at. There's a hole in the ground middle of the factory floor you can get there from."
- [21:41] <Nemi> * "Excellent work," Ash says, cheerfully.
- 01[21:41] <SpaceThor> "Don't forget that you owe us!" Stones heads off. "Good luck Miss Ash!"
- [21:42] <Nemi> * "I never forget. May the Norns cast well my destiny."
- [21:48] <Nemi> * Ash grins and looks to the factory doors. How sturdy do they look- and for that matter, can they simply be opened?
- [21:53] <Nemi> * "Hnh. So people were here." Ash tugs at the doors, testingly.
- 01[21:54] <SpaceThor> They open without too much difficulty. There's another set of doors in front of you, and a staircase to your right leading up.
- [21:59] <Nemi> * Ash ponders. Big hole in the factory floor. That'd likely do it. But bootprints means people- and better ensure there's no extra threats lying in wait, right? She stalks over to the stairs and starts her way up- she's been in Malifaux enough to know what catwalks are, and where offices might be, and supposes that'd be a place where any possible masters to the beast might be staying.
- [21:59] <Nemi> Failing that, a lookout point.
- 01[22:03] <SpaceThor> Up the stairs, there's a catwalk ahead of you that curves out onto the floor, but it puts you in vision of the rest of the factory.
- [22:06] <Nemi> * Well, at the least, she can start /at/ the edge of the catwalk from where the stairs disgorge her and peer around. She doesn't trust the wire supports to hold her anyway.
- 01[22:07] <SpaceThor> Turning the corner, you see several men. Four of them wear identical uniforms with red accents, carrying a pistol and a sword. Beyond them, a man with a coffin on his back looks around, just like the one from the train platform.
- 01[22:08] <SpaceThor> The catwalk seems sturdy enough, the heavy supports visible from the sides.
- [22:14] <Nemi> Ashildr has been around enough to recognize Guild patrols when she saw them- and the coffin-bearer was like as much a Death Marshal. Hmm. This could be problematic- and she was certain they must be here for her quarry. While there was nothing strictly against others participating in the death of the beast, it was her who was to deliver the killing blow, to shed its blood and ichor,
- [22:14] <Nemi> to bond the kill to /her/ name... Ashildr tenses, pivoting her axe behind her back. No cover, as minimal as the damage of their weapons might be, she was distinctly aware of how quickly such pinpricks could add up. At the least with her proper clothes on, her armour fixed up and strapped on with good materials, she might avoid immediately being spotted for one of the walking dead..
- [22:14] <Nemi> Bah. Perhaps the gunfire would be enough to draw the beast out. She steps out onto the catwalk, making a show of gazing about intently with her ice-blue eyes.
- 01[22:14] <SpaceThor> The Death Marshal turns to face you, steely blue eyes piercing you from above his mask. "Zere! Ze demon from ze train! Abomination, I will avenge mein humiliation at your hands!"
- [22:15] <Nemi> "It was just a foot I took off you. I think it adds character," Ash says, almost conversational.
- 01[22:16] <SpaceThor> "Know this Abomination. My name is Wolfgang Braun, and I will send you back to hell vere you belong!"
- [22:16] <Nemi> "I didn't care for Hel's hospitality. Perhaps if you fight well enough I'll be on to Valhalla.."
- 01[22:18] <SpaceThor> The guards raise their pistols, and the Marshal advances cautiously, coffin in one hand, large pistol in the other.
- [22:19] <Nemi> Ash sighs. "A city this size and we meet again here. The Norns play their games." She spins her axe, idly.
- [22:19] <Nemi> * Her voice groans like cracking ice.
- [22:22] <Nemi> At any rate, she stalks forward, slow but uneffable. Moving, then Defensive.
- 01[22:29] <SpaceThor> The closest guard draws his steel and charges Ashildr, slashing at her twice. The first misses, but the second one finds a gap in her armor. If her blood still ran, she'd be bleeding.
- [22:29] <Nemi> "Huh." Ash looks down at her upper arm as her nice new coat is scored. "Brave, little man."
- 01[22:34] <SpaceThor> Braun stands his ground and fires, this shot hitting you center of mass.
- [22:35] <Nemi> Ash looks down at the neat hole in her torso. "Could you not?"
- 01[22:36] <SpaceThor> "To hell vith you!"
- [22:36] <Nemi> "Hel rejected me already. At least you are giving me a worthy battle, hah!"
- [22:38] <Nemi> Ash almost offhandedly slams her axe into the brave guardsman whom charged her, catching him in the midsection before tossing him like a limp doll over her shoulder and stalking forward. And somehow, she carries with her the wind of death, rime and cold and the hunger of the endless dark sea. It's terrifying.
- 01[22:43] <SpaceThor> The guards struggle to deal with this power, one of them freezing (figuratively) mid-charge, while the others are distracted by the horror and unable to hit their shots. The sounds of gunfire seem to do something though, as an echoing roar/bleat/shriek come from the colossal beast emerging from its hole. Your quarry.
- 01[22:44] <SpaceThor> It flies over to Braun, roaring at him while its tail leaks acid. "Scheisse!" The marshal swears, opening his coffin.
- 01[22:45] <SpaceThor> He focuses entirely on the task, slamming the coffin on top of the beast, and closing the lid. It's trapped, but that opening might be just what you need.
- [22:46] <Nemi> "Hah, the beast I came to hunt! You spare me much effort, Marshal!"
- [22:57] <Nemi> Ash continues her unstoppable stride- the man cowering in terror receives an almost offhand diagonal stroke that carves him clean in half in a spectacular spray of blood and gore, sending his upper torso spiralling off- and then she darts forward and, with a single swing, cleaves through the support holding the catwalk section the three last Guildsmen were standing on.
- 01[23:00] <SpaceThor> The Marshal seems to realize what's happening before his men do, and he grabs on to something to hold on. The others are left blindsided when the southern side of the catwalk gives way, sending them spilling to the ground or onto the ancient machinery. Braun, however, is nearly bucked from his position, and he instinctively lets go of the coffin to secure himself...
- 01[23:00] <SpaceThor> The coffin hits the ground, shattering, and releasing a very angry necromantic monstrosity.
- 01[23:02] <SpaceThor> The guard on top of the machine tries to get close enough to fight off the beast, but freezes, and the chimeric nightmare gores him with its goat head.
- [23:03] <Nemi> "Strange magic you wield. I do not think I understand the point of it." Ash, calm as the grave, watches the beast rampage about.
- 01[23:03] <SpaceThor> It then turns to you, howling and flying over to your catwalk to fight. Braun, for his part, sees how this fight has gone and beats a retreat.

- [23:16] <Nemi> Ashildr grins as she hurls herself at the chimerical abomination, axe swinging hard in a vertical chop that catches a neck- but doesn't cut through. She has to fight to retrieve her axe, the withdrawal hardly harming it but putting it off balance for her to swing twice- once with the head to a shoulder, and again with the butt end to one of the three faces. Not powerful blows by her
- [23:16] <Nemi> standards, but quick.
- [23:17] <Nemi> When the butt end comes away, it takes most of the lion's head with it.
- [23:23] <Nemi> Ash is scored hard by its claws and horns, but she is not yet daunted!
- [23:34] <Nemi> * Indeed, she darts in and- in a sudden one-two-three series of blows, smashes the beast in both remaining heads, sending it toppling still atop the catwalk. Ashildr is wary enough to know that she is hurt- savagedly mauled, shot and bitten- but with the beast unmoving before her, she knows what must be done.
- [23:35] <Nemi> * She must finish it off and take its carcass with her. An act of valour and strength, against a monster of great size and power, an abomination of damnation. Oh, and she'll take the fallen guards' pistols- the boys will love those. No bullets- can't have them causing TOO much mischief, right?
- 01[23:36] <SpaceThor_> In its vulnerable state, finishing the beast off for good isn't too difficult, and the guns are easy enough to stash. All in all, a good day's hunt, despite the great rents in your flush and gunshot wounds.
- [23:38] <Nemi> * Something she'll need to bother Rowen about, one supposes. A shame that she'll be denied some good scars- instead, she's just becoming more and more ragged, more patchwork, less recognizable as /herself/ were it not for her mane of blood-red hair. She wonders if Kjell would even recognize her now. She doubts she would recognize herself. Ash drags the carcass onward, leaving the dead
- [23:38] <Nemi> Guildsmen for the scavengers.
- [23:38] <Nemi> * Or, knowing Malifaux, it's likely they'll be up in a few themselves looking fro breakfast.
